PDF Presentation (Beamer LaTeX / Adobe Acrobat Reader) on Android tablet

I have just received my Nexus 10 - my first Android tablet!

I bought the tablet partly for giving presentations. My presentations are created by using the LaTeX package "beamer", which produces PDF files. Acrobat Reader (on PC) has a presentation mode that works perfectly well for all purposes, but I have trouble finding this functionality in the Android version.

There is a full-page display functionality in Adobe's app, but it has some animation for the page transitions. This means that "revealing" of new content (which is implemented by having successive slides that are identical except for the parts that are being revealed) will not work. This is one of the main functionalities that I want in my PDF presentations, and I seem to be unable to find any setting that would turn off the animation.

I have tried searching and the results I got were either about general PDF viewers or PowerPoint (etc) presentation apps. Rather than trying all the different PDF/presentation apps there are, I was hoping that someone might already be using their tablet in this manner, and would be able to help me out.

I have also tried ezPDF reader, but I did not find any presentation-style display at all. So my question is this:

Is there any way to do Beamer PDF presentation on Android tablets conveniently?

(3rd-party app is accepted, and ideally it should work with standard bluetooth presentation devices)

  • Welcome to the Android Enthusiasts! Please note that recommendations like Is there an app for X are off-topic here (see the FAQ for details). For where your question might fit better, you might want to look into Where can I ask questions that aren't Android Enthusiast questions? –  Izzy ♦ Commented Jun 5, 2013 at 10:46
  • I think this question is fine for this site. There is a well-defined problem to be solved. However, @mathstribble, you should probably edit out your request for "best app". "Best" is subjective, of course, and such requests tend to simply attract little more than links to responders' favorite apps. –  ale Commented Jun 5, 2013 at 12:19
  • Thanks - I have edited the question, and also added a tag for Adobe Reader (in case there is a functionality in the app that I missed). –  Lasse Rempe Commented Jun 5, 2013 at 13:13
  • 1 I've looked for such functionality for over a year, w/o success; I've emailed Adobe about the reduced functionality of their PDF reader under Android and emailed the developers of the main office suites for Android (Officesuite, Kingsoft, Polaris, etc.) suggesting such a feature, all to no avail so far. More such requests might have some effect. Otherwise, within 1-2 years we'll be able to dual boot our tablets under Linux and use a Linux-based PDF presenter (acroread, evince, okular, etc.) –  user38462 Commented Jul 30, 2013 at 8:09

I could not find a "pure" presentation mode in Aldiko, Acroread 11.7.1, APV, MuPDF, PDFViewer and several others I tried.

I finally settled with Perfect Viewer and its Perfect Viewer PDF plugin . Extensive (excessive?!) customisation options, and you can:

  • Disable transitions
  • Drastically simplify what touch actions are allowed (simple tap on left/right part of screen, disable menu in the center, enable pinch zoom, add long-tap to reset zoom, ...).

RossC's user avatar

  • Thanks - this is fantastic, indeed, "perfect". You can turn off the menu button at the top as well. It took me a while to figure out how to use the Kensington "PresentAir" presenter that I have with the app: When the presenter is connected, Android seems to regard it as a keyboard, and disables the on-screen keyboard. The app, however, requires the presenter to be connected to autodetect the key in question, but also requires a "description" in order to save the hardware button. But switching keyboards turns off the app! –  Lasse Rempe Commented Jun 9, 2015 at 10:12
  • ... However, it turns out that pressing the "stop" button on the remote registers as a "b". So I was able to enter a description of "b", save the command, turn off the remote, and then edit the description using the on-screen keyboard. A bit awkward, but that is more the remote's / Android's problem (and it may be that I was being silly in not finding anywhere to turn on both the on-screen keyboard and remote). Now that this is configured, the app seems to do absolutely everything that I want from it. Wonderful solution! –  Lasse Rempe Commented Jun 9, 2015 at 10:14

I had the same problem and had to try out a bunch of apps. In addition to what you were looking for, I was also interested in the possibility to add comments during the presentation using the s-pen of my galaxy note. All the apps listed below support full page view, so there are in principle an options for presentations.

Moon Reader Pro

This is an excellent ebook reader. You have to pay for the full version, since the free version wont support pdf display. You can select full-page mode. By default there is no transition effect. You can also annotate while viewing. The pdf quality is very good and I have not seen any lags. Tons of options.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flyersoft.moonreaderp

Aldiko Book Reader

Also a very good ebook reader that supports pdfs. Very much the same as the Moon reader, but it wont allow annotations. Also Moon reader has more options. The main advantage is that this reader is free. So try this one out first.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aldiko.android

Acrobat Reader FoxIt and FoxIT Mobile PDF lit

Both viewers are fast and allow annotations, but you cannot turn off the page transitions. Very annoying for presentations. Both apps are free.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adobe.reader https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foxit.mobile.pdf.lite

This viewer was first slow, but one can change the options such that it performs okay. It has no page transitions, but it wont allow you to annotate. Free.

  • Thanks - I actually tried Aldiko before, but either missed the option of turning off page transitions, or this has been added since then. In any case, it's very helpful - perfect! –  Lasse Rempe Commented Nov 26, 2013 at 0:26
  • Thanks again for the suggestions - I think sneumann's new answer (Perfect Viewer) now provides a perfect answer to my query, hence I have changed this to be the accepted answer, so as to make it easier for others to find. Thanks for understanding! –  Lasse Rempe Commented Jun 9, 2015 at 10:24

I found this question because I was looking for exactly this. Since the question was asked, some new apps are available, so I thought I'd share one that definitely works (it has an option to disable animations). It also seems to have nice annotation tools. Good enough to use in a classroom I'm thinking.

Oscar Levin's user avatar

Since there haven't been any responses, I'll record the solution that I have come up with so far, in case anyone else is interested. It is not quite perfect yet, so further answers / comments are certainly appreciated.

  • APV PDF Viewer has options that allow you to disable the visible zoom buttons, lock the horizontal scroll, increase the distance between pages, and bind the Up/Down and Left/Right keys to page up/down.

Setting these options, position the page in the middle of the screen. Touching the screen right or left will forward a page, but if you are not careful, it will still lead to moving the page around. However, if you use a bluetooth remote (as I do) to forward the page, this isn't a problem and it works pretty well.

  • ezPDF Reader does not seem to work for what I had in mind, as it does not seem to have an option that shows a 4x3 slide in full (with black borders on the sides). On the other hand, it should be possible to compose the beamer slides in 16x9-mode , and then I think there are enough options to make this feasible. I haven't tested this yet, as I haven't yet spent any time on thinking what the best layout is for 16x9 slides. In the long run, this seems likely to be the best option.
  • I am interested in doing exactly the same thing (show Beamer slides on my tablet). The closest solution I've found is Radaee PDF...BEFORE the latest update (that is, version 4.2.2 works fairly well; the new update, not at all). I'd be interested to know of any other solutions you've found. What you suggest what APV PDF doesn't work for me (the pages get misaligned, no matter how I position it). –  emacsomancer Commented Oct 2, 2013 at 13:31

hi i was reading for the solution of this problem, and i found about adobe reader X for android, in this version of adobe exist an option that allows user view the pdf in presentation mode, here i leave an extract of the information i found from this link

Fit-to-Screen viewing mode

For those users who like to look at PDF documents one page at a time, Reader X introduces a new “Fit-to-Screen” viewing mode in addition to the earlier Continuous Scroll mode. This mode is especially useful if you’re reading presentations. Use the “View Mode” menu option to switch to this mode.

While in Fit to Screen mode, you can navigate across pages in two ways:

1 Tap on the ‘hot zones’ near the left and right of the screen to take you to the previous or next page respectively,

2 Swipe the screen horizontally towards the left or right to navigate to the next or previous page respectively."

Sid's user avatar

  • Is this different from the functionality that I mention in my original question? In that functionality, unfortunately there is an animation for the page transition, which makes it unsuitable for beamer presentations with 'reveals'. I have not found an option to turn this off. –  Lasse Rempe Commented Oct 16, 2013 at 17:08

Write on PDF by Samsung meets all the requirements very well.

The best presentation apps for android.

pdf presentation for android

Desktop computers have become a rare commodity these day and although laptops are holding on to the last shred of anything that doesn’t resemble a smart device, it might not be long before they might be replaced for good. Even modern laptops have begun to resemble smart devices, as hybrid models aim to replace the conventional laptop.

Whether you are a PC user or someone who favours Mac, the chances are you need to be ready for a world ruled by Android. In fact, many PC and Mac users already own an Android device.

To help presenters prepare for things to come, we have compiled a list of the best presentation apps for Android. This list consists of not only apps that can be used for making and presenting your slide decks but also apps which can help you turn your Android device into a presentation remote or a tool for remotely delivering your presentations.

[This article contains affiliate links. For more information, see our disclosures here .]

1) PowerPoint for Android

According to some estimates there are 30 million PowerPoint presentations delivered per day. It can be safely assumed that most presenters globally use PowerPoint for delivering their slides. Even many who use alternative apps, usually make use of applications which support PPT files. This is why PowerPoint for Android is number one of our list of best presentation apps for Android.

While users have complained about the need for an Office 365 account to use the PowerPoint app for Android , however, there is no denying the fact that it is indeed the real deal when it comes to Android presentation apps. PowerPoint for Android supports many features that many so called PowerPoint alternatives on the Play Store have failed to provide. This includes features like: support for PowerPoint charts; transitions and animations; and integration with SharePoint and major cloud storage services.

You can access files from not only your Android device but also via OneDrive, Google Drive, box, DropBox and SharePoint. Furthermore, you can create, edit and present presentations right from your Android device.

PowerPoint for Android is not without its limitations, as it is not as powerful as its desktop version. Unfortunately, you cannot do much with the app unless you are logged in with an Office 365 account.

If you’re wondering why would you use a paid app instead of the dozens of free alternatives on the Google Play Store, the answer is simple. PowerPoint for Android not only provides support for many native features that other apps can’t provide but also enables making high-quality slides; something a professional presenter desperately needs to have.

Furthermore, your imported PowerPoint files will not have any missing charts, animations or pixelated images when you open them on Android. Moreover, you can safely use PowerPoint for Android for presenting your slides by connecting your Android device to a projector using a PC, Chromecast, Miracast, etc.

2) Google Slides

If you don’t want to pay for an Office 365 subscription, Google Slides is the next best alternative. What started as a cloud based imitation of PowerPoint has come a long way. While Google Slides has a long way to go, as explained in our post about Google Slides Vs PowerPoint ; it gives adequate options for making a good looking presentation.

With the Google Slides app for Android you can create, edit and present your presentations from an Android device. Furthermore, it supports PowerPoint files, which can help you use this app as a free alternative to the Office 365 subscription based PowerPoint for Android app.

If you’ve never used the web based version of Google Slides or haven’t tried it since its rebranding, it has come a long way. A few years back I would not have fancied importing a PowerPoint presentation to Google Slides but all that has now changed. The imported PowerPoint files have much better editability and few slides (if any) get botched after import.

The only downside of using Google Slides is that you can’t do much without internet connectivity. For example, you need online connectivity for making a presentation. This can be a buzzkill for people looking for an app they can use without keeping their mobile data packages on when making slides on the go.

Needless to say, Google Slides comes integrated with Google Drive and gives you access for your presentation files via your Google account. While Google Slides is no PowerPoint, however, it can help you get the job done with all basic functions a presenter might need. Furthermore, it’s also a good enough option for viewing and editing PowerPoint files for free on an Android device.

3) WPS Office+PDF

I have been using WPS Office for as long as I have owned an Android device. This is one of the oldest Office Suites for Android and one of the best ones available for free. With WPS Office you can create, view and edit Office files, including presentations, with support for PowerPoint files.

WPS Office also provides a number of other handy functions, such as wireless printing support for Office and PDF files, a reader-friendly mobile mode for PDF files and documents, built-in image editing functionality, track changes, etc.

It can be safely assumed that after PowerPoint for Android and Google Slides, WPS Office has the features and smooth functionality which makes it a viable Android app for creating, viewing, editing and presenting presentations.

WPS Office screenshot

4)  Polaris Office+PDF

Many Android devices come with the Polaris Viewer, which makes it possible to view MS Office files on Android devices. Polaris has many apps for Android, including separate apps for LG devices, Symantec mobility suite, and an enterprise version known as Polaris Good. Polaris Office+PDF is a free Office suite which can be used for viewing and editing MS Office files, including PowerPoint presentations.

Polaris Office also provides a number of other useful features, such as the ability to take notes with handwriting, passcode protection for documents, document sharing and commenting features, etc. Polaris Office+PDF is a free Android app, which offers in-app purchases.

Polaris Office screenshot

5) Smart Office 2

Smart Office 2 for Android is one of many Office apps which came way before Microsoft woke up from its slumber. This app is not just a mere PowerPoint alternative for Android but an entire Office suite. Smart Office 2 is a free app, which supports creating, editing, viewing, printing and sharing Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. It also provides support for viewing PDF and image files, including GIF animations ad Vector Graphics (WMF & EMF).

Smart Office 2 also enables converting Office files to PDF format, with the utility to annotate PDF files. You can use Smart Office for presenting PowerPoint and PDF presentation using your Android device. Smart Office 2 also gives templates for creating Office files, including PowerPoint presentations.

While Smart Office 2 is not as feature rich as PowerPoint for Android or Google Slides, it does serve as the poor man’s PowerPoint and can perform many basic functions you would expect in an office suite. Something that I personally find lacking in this app is the lacklustre interface and slower functionality. This is why WPS and Polaris Office are ranked higher in our list.

Smart Office 2 screenshot

Presentations aren’t necessarily supposed to be all about PowerPoint slides. There are many useful apps that can go beyond support for PPTs and actually deliver a platform which can make professional presenters stand out from the crowd. ShowPad is one such service, which makes it possible for presenters engaged in sales and marketing to deliver robust presentations on the fly.

ShowPad is a sales enablement platform. In other words, it is a service which allows bringing together all your marketing data to create custom presentations according to specific customer needs. This might include PPTs, PDF files, Word documents, videos and relevant images.

The ShowPad app for Android is an extension of the ShowPad web service, which gives a plethora of options to access sales data for presenting your sales pitch anytime, using interactive tools. ShowPad is a paid service which can be tested out using a free trial account.

Showpad

7) MightyMeeting

MightyMeeting is not your average presentation app, as it integrates web conferencing with polls, whiteboards and PowerPoint slides to provide a comprehensive platform for presenters. MightyMeeting is perfect for remote presentations and for delivering your presentation during a webinar or online conference.

Like ShowPad, MightyMeeting app for Android is an extension of a web service. You can instantly start online meetings, invite attendees and begin presenting your content using PowerPoint slides, whiteboards, videos and even conduct polls to gather opinion from meeting participants.

MightyMeeting is a paid service but you can take it for a spin using a trial account. Read a more detailed review of MightyMeeting here .

8)  AIO Remote

You might have used apps that turn your Android device into a presentation remote. And when it comes to the best Android presentation remote app, AIO Remote is a clear winner. When I first installed this app, I didn’t expect much, however, I was amazed by its smooth functionality and wide range of features.

AIO Remote can not only be used if you are presenting PowerPoint slides on your computer but even if you are using another presentation app. This is because AIO has features for controlling not just PowerPoint slides but your entire computer. With AIO Remote you can control your mouse pad, turn your Android device into a joystick, browse your PC files, control your media player, as well as create custom remotes by specifying control variables.

AIO Remote for Android is free to use and works with Windows, Mac and Linux. AIO also has a mobile version for Kindle tablets. You can connect AIO Remote via Android to your computer using a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection.

You can find a more detailed review of AIO Remote here.

AIO Remote screenshot

9) Office Remote

Office Remote is an official app by Microsoft which is meant to remotely control Office apps on PC using Android devices. Office Remote can not only control PowerPoint running on a PC but also other Office apps like Word and Excel.

Office Remote is a free app and requires Bluetooth connectivity between a PC and Android device. Like any remote control app for Android, you will require installing a desktop plugin for MS Office on your PC and the Android app for Office remote on your Android smartphone or tablet.

Office Remote screenshot

10)  AirDroid

When it comes to Android apps providing remote control, AirDroid is indeed a novelty. This is not your conventional Android remote, since it does pretty much the opposite of what AIO Remote and Office Remote Offer; i.e. you can remotely control your Android device via PC, Mac or web browser.

Now, being a presenter you might be wondering what good can AirDroid be for you? The answer is simple. AirDroid be useful to remotely accessing your Android device to Mirror it on a PC or Mac connected to a projector. Moreover, you can use it to remotely send SMS, transfer files, control your mobile camera, play and manage audio and video files, as well as transfer files to your computer without the need for wired connectivity.

In other words, whether you want to mirror your Android on a projector via computer, remotely control your Android device during a presentation or need to quickly transfer a file from your Android device to a computer, AirDroid can help you do all that. Furthermore, if you intend to share something like a WhatsApp chat, video or need to demonstrate something using your Android device, you can show it all on the big screen.

AirDroid is a free app but offers some in-app purchases.

AirDroid screenshot

The above list is meant to provide our fellow presenters with useful apps to help them use their Android devices more effectively for presenting presentations. We excluded apps which we thought were not user-friendly enough or lacked essential features.

This is why Prezi did not make it to our list. Unfortunately, Prezi currently only has a Prezi Viewer for Android and its mobile site doesn’t make it any easy to create presentations from an Android browser.

Similarly, we did not include many presentation remote apps, since the ones mentioned in this post come with comprehensive features that are hard to match by other Android apps.

If you think we missed out a presentation app for Android which should be on this list, feel free to share your thoughts via our comments section.

Some features of certain apps might require online connectivity. However, most of the apps have some kind of offline support. WP Office for instance provides complete offline support, similarly, you can connect AIO Remote via Bluetooth.

It often happens that our laptop is not with us, but for some urgent office work, we have to make a presentation from the phone itself. So for them, these editing APPs can be utilized.

You can display PDFs as-is by sharing your new Chromebook's screen with your audience, but scrolling through pages isn't engaging. With a little touch-up in Google Slides, you can make a great presentation out of a PDF file. This step-by-step guide shows you how to convert a PDF to Google Slides to keep your audience engaged.

Google Slides: Perfect for collaborative presentations

With Google Slides, part of Google's free online office suite, creating and sharing presentations has never been easier. You can access it anywhere through a web browser, Android and iOS mobile apps, or a ChromeOS desktop.

Thanks to its compatibility with Microsoft PowerPoint, it's one of the best presentation tools. Moreover, every edit is recorded in a detailed revision history, so you and your team can work on presentations simultaneously. Each editor has its own colors and cursors, plus a permissions system to make teamwork easier.

The benefits of choosing Google Slides over PDFs for Presentations

While PDFs are popular for their ease of shareability and compact nature, they can be limiting for presentations. Google Slides offers a compelling way to present projects with engaging visuals and annotations.

What's more, PDFs hinder real-time teamwork on crucial projects, whether in business or academia. Google Slides solves this, allowing access and collaboration from any device, anywhere, as long as you're connected to your Google account.

Converting PDF to PowerPoint for Google Slides

Since Google Slides doesn't support inserting a PDF, you must convert your PDF file to a PowerPoint file. This may change the formatting, but you can adjust the PowerPoint file as needed.

You can use several tools, such as PDFelement for Windows or Mac. Many online website tools like ILovePDF and CloudConvert convert files without installing an app. For demonstration purposes, we use CloudConvert.

  • Visit the CloudConvert website at cloudconvert.com .

CloudConvert homepage, focusing on the PDF conversion section. There is a prominent "Select File" button and lists of file formats available for conversion from and to PDF.

  • Go to the Presentation menu, select PDF as the input format, and select PPT or PPTX as the output format.

The interface of CloudConvert's website during the process of converting a file. A document is queued for conversion from PDF to PPT and PPTX format.

  • Upload the PowerPoint file to Google Slides and edit it.

If your PDF is in Google Drive, add CloudConvert to your Google Workspace. With it, you can open and convert PDF files from your Google Drive. You can also open the file with Google Slides after the conversion. Here's how to get it done:

  • Navigate to the file you wish to convert from your Google Drive and right-click it.

A Google Drive interface with a context menu open for a selected file. The menu offers various options such as Connect more apps

  • Select your Google account to link it with CloudConvert.

CloudConvert-Drive

  • Click Convert to start the conversion process from PDF to PowerPoint.

After conversion, you can open the downloaded file in Google Slides if you initiated the conversion from Google Drive. This step allows you to bypass the manual download and upload process, streamlining your workflow.

Converting PDF to images for Google Slides

If editing the text in your converted files isn't a priority, convert your PDFs into images and insert them into your Google Slides presentations. The easiest way to do this is with software like Adobe Acrobat or alternative online tools.

This keeps the original formatting of your PDFs when inserting them into Google Slides. For this tutorial, Adobe Acrobat is our tool of choice. Here's a step-by-step guide to converting your PDFs into images:

  • Navigate to the Adobe Acrobat Convert PDF to JPG online tool.

the Adobe Acrobat online tool interface for converting a PDF to a JPG image.

  • Download the ZIP file that contains your newly converted JPG images.
  • Unzip the file to access your images. Choose a designated folder for easy access.

The image shows an open Google Slides presentation with a drop-down menu for inserting an image. There are several options available: upload from computer, search the web, Drive, Photos, by URL, Camera, and a new option for GIFs and stickers.

  • Navigate to where you unpacked your images and select the ones to include in your slides.

You can also add your converted images from Google Drive or another online platform.

Convert PDFs to Google Slides by sharing them as links

You can insert the PDF file as a link in Google Slides. End users can use the hyperlinked image or text in your presentation as a reference point to view the PDF file. You can do this by following these steps:

A Google Drive interface with context menu is open, showing options 'Open with', 'Download', and 'Share'.

  • Copy the shared link provided by Google Drive.

The image displays a Google Slides interface where a hyperlink is being added to text in a slide. The text "My Presentation" is highlighted, with a hyperlink input box showing a partially visible URL.

  • Select the element (for example, an image or text) you want to hyperlink. Then, click the Insert menu, choose Link , and paste the copied URL into the field. Alternatively, after selecting the element, use the shortcut Ctrl + K ( Cmd + K on Mac).

How To Present a PDF Like a PowerPoint

best-online-graphic-design-software

May 2, 2024 by Hung Nguyen

Learn to present a PDF in full-screen mode like you would a PPT file or convert it to PPT for easy presenting.

You can present a PDF as if it were a PowerPoint presentation in two ways. You can either open a PDF and view the content in full screen or save the file as a PowerPoint. If you choose the latter, you can then open the file in Microsoft PowerPoint and present it as you usually would. Check out the full instructions for both methods below.

How To Present a PDF Like a PowerPoint Presentation

Open your pdf document with your pdf reader., click “view” and choose “enter full screen” or “slideshow.”, present as you usually would and navigate using the arrow keys., press the “esc” (escape) key to exit the slideshow when finished..

There are a few limitations to presenting PDF files like this: some media file types, such as animated GIF images, won’t work and will remain static in your presentation. You also can’t add speaker notes to PDF presentations. While we believe PDF is quite versatile, in this case, it might be better to convert the PDF to PPT format using our free converter.

How To Change a PDF to PPT To Present

  • Go to the  PDF to PPT  converter.
  • Drag and drop your PDF.
  • Wait for the tool to convert it to PPT.
  • Click “Download,” and you’re done.

Once you have the PPT file open, you can present the data as you would normally. If you have an older version of Microsoft Office, you’ll have to click the “Slide Show” tab and choose “Play from Start” to start a presentation.

While you have a PowerPoint file open, you can also edit the content as you’d like. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is available within the PDF to PPT tool, where we’ll pluck the content of each PDF into an editable PPT file for your convenience. And while you’re on our blog, check out how to insert a PDF into a PowerPoint — learning new PDF and PPT-related tricks is always good!

We offer the most popular online PDF to PPT converter. A big part of our popularity comes from our simple and intuitive drag-and-drop interface as well as our range of practical tools to convert, edit, sign, protect, and lock PDFs and other documents. Of course, we also offer a tool to reverse this whole process and turn PPT back into PDF.

We hope this guide could be of help, and good luck with all of your future presentations!

Other PDF Presentation Modes

In addition to the PDF slide shows, MiniTool PDF Editor also offers other PDF presentation modes. For example:

  • Full Screen: In this mode, PDF pages fill the entire screen. The menu bar, toolbar, and window controls are hidden. Note that browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge can also present a PDF in full screen, but the PDF page doesn’t fill the entire screen. There are gray areas on the sides of the PDF page.
  • Zoom in or out: If you want to show details of a PDF, you can zoom in on the PDF. Of course, you can also zoom out the PDF. You can use the Plus and Minus buttons at the top to zoom in or out of the PDF. You can even enter the scaling ratio manually. Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge can also zoom in or out a PDF but no custom zoom is offered.

  • Rotate the view clockwise or counterclockwise: Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge also have this feature.
  • Simple Mode: Present the PDF in the minimized window and hide other components.
  • Reverse View: View PDF pages in reverse order.

According to your condition, you can choose one from the above PDF presentation modes. Note that Google Chrome and Microsoft don’t have the slideshow mode. If you want to present PDF slide shows, MiniTool PDF Editor is the best choice on Windows.

The best PDF readers for Android let you view, comment, and collaborate on digital documents on your mobile device.

Our software review team tested out best free PDF readers and best free PDF editors - and you'll find expert advice on what to look for when choosing the best app for reading PDFs on your tablet and phone. Adobe Acrobat Reader is our top choice for most people. With a smart, simple interface and all the basic tools, there's a lot to like here even if it pushes Acrobat subscriptions on you at every turn. The Foxit PDF Reader offers an excellent alternative.

During our comprehensive review process, we explored the overall reading experience and compared core features such as commenting, form-filling, and eSignature tools.

For more document editing tools, we put the best PDF editors to the test.

1. Adobe Acrobat Reader

Our expert review:

Reasons to buy

Reasons to avoid.

Adobe Acrobat Reader is one of the best PDF readers for Android - simple, easy to use, suitable for everyone and all uses. But if you’re using the free version, it’s not quite as feature-filled as the Standard and Pro subscription.

Arguably, that’s the biggest issue with the app. It’s very clean and simple to use, and you’ll find the tools exactly where they ought to be. But at the free tier, you’re limited to adding comments and annotations. A special highlight for us was the flawless fill and sign function, which automatically checks files for missing information. You used to have to download this as a separate app, but sensibly, Adobe has brought those features into the Android PDF reader.

Most other tools, like file conversion and document editing require a subscription - and you’ll be constantly reminded of this whenever you use the app. If you just need a no-fuss reader (or you use it enough to warrant a subscription), it’s a good PDF reader for Android, but there are PDF apps that may offer better value.

Best lightweight PDF reader for Android

Google Play screenshot of Foxit PDF Editor app

2. Foxit PDF Reader

Foxit PDF Reader is a popular Android PDF reader with more than a hundred thousand installs recorded on Google Play, and a high rating of 4.6.

It doesn't take long to understand Foxit's success. PDFs open quickly, you can control orientation with ease, text reflows to fit and you're able to tweak brightness and change the background to make for comfortable reading in all situations.

Simple annotation tools are on hand to assist in highlighting text, adding notes or drawing on the page, and Foxit's Connected technology enables sharing comments and changes with others in real time.

Form handling is a major plus, with options to fill out and save forms, import and export their data and submit forms via HTTP, FTP and email.

While Foxit's core functionality is free, a number of more advanced features are only available if you subscribe (converting PDFs, combining files, password protection, digital certificates, OneDrive Business support). That's no surprise, but if you're on a budget, keep in mind that some PC-based PDF editors can carry out many of these tasks for free.

Best Android PDF reader for speed

pdfFiller screenshot

3. pdfFiller

pdfFiller offers one of the best PDF readers for Android, with an online version and apps for Windows, Mac, and iOS, too.

Simply viewing PDF documents is free, fast, and simple enough without needing to sign up - just upload the file and it’s yours to view. But pdfFiller is more than a PDF reader - it’s a fully featured PDF editor, and one that, after an extensive review, we found to be “a very versatile PDF document management system.” It delivers a range of features, such as online collaboration tools, PDF converter, and e-signatures. For easy access, you’ll find these, and more, along the ribbon at the top of the screen - although they’re also listed at the foot of the homepage if your needs are specific.

If all you need is to read a PDF on your Mac, the service is entirely free. However, once you want to edit, save, or export your files, you’ll need to sign up to one of three monthly/annual subscription plans. Enterprise licensing for teams is also available on request.

Best distraction-free Android PDF reader

Website screenshot for Xodo PDF Reader

4. Xodo PDF Reader

Xodo PDF Reader stands out from the underpowered masses for the range and depth of its feature set. Despite its name, the app isn't just about PDF reading: you can also create new PDFs via your camera, from images or Office documents. You can fill in, save and send PDF forms, or highlight text and add annotations of your own. It's even possible to collaborate on your document with others via Xodo's connect service (no registration required).

Supporting features include smart integration with Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive. That's not just about providing an easy way to import documents from the cloud: Xodo can also automatically sync your edits with the source file, ensuring it always has the very latest version.

There's another neat extra in Xodo's File Manager. Thumbnail previews and a Recent Files list give you speedy access to the documents you need, and you're able to freely rename, copy, move or delete any documents.

The core PDF viewing engine is what really matters, though, and Xodo's creation works very well. High zoom factors, page cropping and a full-screen mode help you focus on the content, Night Mode makes for comfortable reading in darker environments and versatile search tools and table of contents support enables drilling down to key areas of the file.

Best PDF readers for Android: FAQs

Do i need a pdf editor or a pdf reader on android.

You can download PDF editor and PDF reader apps for Android - so if you're in and out of documents all the time, a more powerful editor may be the right choice. However, if you're largely working on shared files, signing and scanning, or otherwise just viewing files, an Android PDF reader should offer more than enough tools.

What are some alternative PDF readers for Android?

ReadEra is an app specifically made for reading a wide-range of documents, especially files intended to be read as books. This means the app is not only able to open and view PDF files, but also epub, mobi, as well as Word .doc and .docx files, RTF, plain text, and other text-based documents.

WPS Office is a free all-in-one office suite that can be used to read, edit, and create Word and PDF documents, as well as spreadsheets and presentation files. The PDF features are especially strong, with the ability to read, convert, and edit PDF files. There's also a document scanner included in the app.

Librera is another general book reader that allows most document formats to be read, such as PDF files. In addition to this it also includes neat additional features such as text-to-speech built into the app, as well as allow notes, comments, and bookmarks in PDF files. Password protection of documents is also included.

How to choose the best PDF readers for Android

When choosing which PDF reader for Android is best for you, you’ll want to consider how you'll use the app. So, if you often fill out PDF forms, look for a PDF reader with excellent form-filling capability.

You’ll also want to be mindful of your Android device’s processing power — heavier PDF readers will use up more resources and slow your device if it’s not powerful enough. Where possible, opt for PDF mobile apps with advanced features, like form-filling, the best eSignature software for electronic signing and the best OCR software for document scanning.

It's also worth looking at what PDF software you currently use on other devices. If you're familiar with Adobe Acrobat on desktop, then it makes sense to opt for - especially if you opt for an Adobe Document Cloud subscription. Similarly, Foxit Reader may be a smart choice if you already use the excellent Foxit PDF Editor .

How we test the best PDF readers for Android

We test a wide range of PDF editors, readers, and tools, including  the best PDF readers for Mac , and the best PDF readers for Windows . To determine the best PDF readers for Android, we looked at various aspects of each application.

We analyzed how much space they occupied on the device, the app boot-up speed, PDF file-launch speed (especially the heavier ones), and the amount of processing power they consumed. We evaluated the apps based on the simplicity and usability of their interface, support for different file formats, and more advanced features often found in dedicated PDF editors. For the paid apps, we examined what features they offered during the free trial or in the free version.

We've tested the best Adobe Acrobat alternatives - and these are the ones we recommend.

Best PDF reader apps for Android and iOS

1. adobe acrobat reader (android, ios: free).

best pdf reader: Adobe Acrobat Reader

The biggest thing that Adobe Acrobat Reader has going for it is that everything just works smoothly, supporting form-fillable and DRM and password-protected PDFs while offering a variety of view modes, from your classic vertical scroll to a two page facing view that looks great in landscape mode.

Adobe Acrobat Reader includes text reflow, contextual search, bookmarks and hyperlink support, as well as annotation and electronic signature support. Users who sign up to a free Adobe Document Cloud account can share and sync documents online, with features like PDF editing and creation available as in-app purchases or through subscription.

2. Foxit Mobile PDF (Android, iOS: Free)

Best PDF Reader: Foxit

The mobile version of the popular desktop tool, Foxit Mobile PDF is another one of the best PDF reader apps for your mobile device.

On the display end, Foxit handles normal and password protected PDFs, with support for document and user bookmarks. Annotation options let you highlight, underline or strike through text. You also can add sticky notes text boxes, or even draw freehand on the document.

Text reflow allows you to read comfortably even on a small smartphone screen. Cloud support lets you upload and download PDFs from popular storage providers.

Foxit has also introduced a new ConnectedPDF feature for collaborative work, annotations, comments and edits on a team's files.

  • Download Foxit Mobile PDF: Android , iOS

3. PDF Viewer Pro (Android, iOS: Free)

best pdf reader: PDF Viewer Pro

PDF Viewer Pro is one of the best PDF readers that you can download and work with for free. But the mobile app is also designed to offer a variety of power user features for anyone looking to spend on premium subscriptions.

Free users can take PDF Viewer Pro and open up PDFs stored locally or in the cloud, as well as apply annotations and basic document edits. Pay up for a subscription — three months costs $6.99 while a year goes for $19.99 — and you can access features like combining documents or interpolating pages, image annotations, an interface-free presentation mode, and interface customization.

  • Download PDF Viewer Pro: Android , iOS

4. Xodo PDF Reader (Android, iOS: Free)

best pdf reader: Xodo

Xodo PDF Reader might not have the big name recall of Acrobat Reader or Foxit, but it still offers a nice multi-platform reader app that includes a variety of reading modes along with organization and cloud storage tools. You also get productivity extras like annotations and electronic signatures.

Users can open and edit their local PDF files; access PDFs from their Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive; or they can use the proprietary Xodo Connect platform to share and annotate PDFs over a web browser.

That said, the mobile reader would be improved with a better design and layout, as features like the menu bars can use up a large amount of screen space and obscure pages, making Xodo somewhat clunky to use.

  • Download Xodo PDF Reader: Android , iOS

5. Soda PDF Merge (Android, iOS: Free)

Best PDF readers soda Pdf merge

What happens when you've got a number of documents on your phone that you want to turn into a single PDF? That's where Soda PDF Merge comes in. The app can merge contract details, photos, and just about any document you want into a single file for review.

  • Download Soda PDF Merge: Android , iOS

6. Google Play Books (Android, iOS: Free)

best pdf reader: Google Play Books

Google Play Books is another best PDF reader worth considering for its cloud storage functions. You can upload your own PDF & EPUB files into your Play Books library for cross-device ease of reading, though if you do most of your PDF reading away from a wireless signal, that may be an issue.

In addition to cloud storage features, you can also access Play Books' marketplace, as well as customize the reader view for ease of use. Text highlighting, a built-in dictionary, and map search give you features to play with, and cross-device syncing lets you save your reading position across devices.

  • Download Google Play Books: Android , iOS

7. Markup - Annotation Expert (iOS: Free)

best pdf reader: Markup

Markup - Annotation Expert is Kdan's beefier, professional-oriented version of its PDF viewer and annotation software for iOS devices. As the name suggests, the app includes markup and annotation tools for PDF documents and a Web highlighter through an in-app browser, as well as support for audio notes and digital signatures.

The cloud portion of Markup supports a variety of storage and backup options, such as Dropbox, Google Drive, or Kdan Cloud. Limitations on the free version such as number of files stored are removed on the $5.99/month Pro version and a $9.99/month paid subscription to Kdan's Creativity 365 suite of tools includes more premium features.

MuPDF features support for PDF 1.7, text reflow, progressive rendering for large documents. It can also handle basic interactive features such as text search and extraction, hyperlinks, annotations, form-filling and electronic signatures.

If you don't need fancy extras like cloud integration or advanced editing features, consider giving this best PDF reader a shot.

  • Download MuPDF: Android , iOS

10. AnDoc (Android: Free)

best pdf reader: Andoc

Where many PDF readers provide a wide variety of features, AnDoc PDF & DJVU Reader instead aims for a minimalist, interface, hiding most of its options and navigation behind the settings button.

This is a bit of a pro and con — while the reading experience is clutter free, accessing outlines, search tools, and bookmarks requires you to fire up the settings menu.

That said, the app does include a surprising degree of back end options, allowing users to tweak performance and rendering settings, set the appearance of hyperlinked text and more. If you don't need annotation features and are looking for a clutter-free reading view, consider AnDoc.

  • Download AnDoc: Android

11. WPS Office (Android, iOS: Free)

best pdf readers: WPS Office

From extreme minimalism to something a bit more all-in-one, we go to WPS Office, a multipurpose mobile office suite that handles documents, spreadsheets, and PDFs with equal aplomb.

WPS's PDF viewer is serviceable, allowing users to add and view bookmarks, jump to page numbers, text search, view annotations to a PDF file, and access PDFs from cloud storage. It's not as loaded with PDF-centric features as other viewers, but it's general office suite features make it a good addition to your app drawer if you're looking for a free mobile document editor that also reads PDFs well.

  • Download WPS Office: Android , iOS

12. PDF Expert (iOS: $9.99)

best pdf reader: PDFExpert

On the iOS front, Readdle's PDF Expert line of apps is among the most impressive premium PDF tools available for mobile users. PDF Expert can open the full spectrum of PDF files, including password protected and form-fillable documents.

The app also supports a variety of other document formats stored locally or in the cloud. Drawing tools, highlighting and other text annotation tools provide the means to mark up documents, while text search, PDF links and other navigation tools make getting to where you want a snap.

  • Download PDF Expert: iOS

13. PDFpen 6 (iOS: $6.99)

best pdf reader: PDFPen

PDFpen 6 is another one of the best PDF readers and editors for iOS users. The mobile app allows users to display PDF files, as well as edit, annotate, apply proofmarks, images and signatures. These features make it extremely easy to handle form-fillable files and other important documents.

Users can "flatten" documents for easier compatibility, set document passwords and save or load documents across a wide variety of cloud services, such as iCloud, Dropbox, Evernote and Google Drive.

It may cost more than some of the other free PDF readers, but PDFpen 6 does provide a thorough suite of tools for reading and editing PDFs on your iOS device, and it's well worth it if you're a professional who needs to deal with PDFs on the go.

  • Download PDFpen 6: iOS

14. GoodReader PDF Editor and Viewer (iOS: $5.99)

best pdf reader: GoodReader

A powerful PDF reader for iOS devices, GoodReader offers a variety of annotation, navigation, and file management tools. Search tools, text reflow and other navigation tools allow you to easily get to where you need in a doc, while text and freehand annotation tools and digital signature let you easily make your mark. GoodReader continues to add new features, such as support for page management, auto-syncing of files and text-to-speech.

  • Download GoodReader PDF Editor and Viewer: iOS

15. Kybook 3 (iOS: Free)

best pdf reader: kybook 3

As an ebook reader — it's one of the best ebook reader apps , in our opinion —KyBook 3 takes a generalist approach, supporting a variety of formats. One of those happens to be PDF, making KyBook a good choice if you're looking for the best PDF reader, too.

KyBook throws in a ton of features such as cloud storage support, text to speech, search, bookmarks, and notes, but the app does suffer compared to other readers due to its more generalist approach. PDF pages don't quite load as smoothly as a more focused PDF reader, but KyBook does do the job well enough, with customizable page turn modes, support for landscape and two-page facing modes, and a magnifying loupe.

It's worth considering if you regularly consume DRM-free PDFs alongside other ebook and audiobooks. In-app purchases unlock features like DjVu support, synchronization, and PDF Reflow.

We read books both for information and knowledge. Although both are essential aspects of reading, we cannot tell the difference between them. When you annotate, your mind develops a contextual relationship with the book.

You include facts, criticisms, and links to related documents or web links. This all gives you better navigational cues. We'll show you five PDF readers for Android that let you read and annotate ebooks to provide you with a better reading environment.

1. Xodo PDF Reader & Editor

add a highlight and comment in xodo pdf reader

Xodo is a feature-rich PDF viewer that lets you read, edit, and annotate ebooks. It comes with a built-in file manager, cloud storage support, and collaboration tools to annotate ebooks and review them in real time. You can fill forms and sign PDF documents . It's also compatible with the latest Adobe Acrobat specifications, which makes annotations consistent with other PDF viewers.

Annotate and View Notes

To create a highlight, tap the center of your screen to bring up the Action Bar . Tap the Annotation Toolbar , then the Highlighter icon. Drag the marker with your finger to the end of a sentence or paragraph to highlight the text. To change the color of the highlight, tap and hold the text to bring the popup menu. Tap Style to change the color, opacity or even annotation type.

If you wish to add a note, tap the selected text, then tap Comment Note to add a comment. Xodo supports many annotation tools including strikeout, underline, link, text, and more. You might also want to enable some options in the Settings screen.

Tap the Hamburger menu and toggle the Continuous Annotation Edit switch. The annotation toolbar will no longer swap with the hand tool, letting you focus on annotating the book. Also, toggle the Copy Annotated Text to Note switch. While adding a note, the selected text gets automatically copied into the annotation's note.

Long-press this tab and tap Show in Folder to jump to the file location.

If you're viewing the same PDF on an app that doesn't support annotations, you can save a flattened copy of the document. Tap on the Overflow , then choose Save a Copy > Flattened Copy . The flattened copy's annotations are no longer editable, but you can see the edits in any PDF viewer.

3. ezPDF Reader

action bar of the ezpdf reader

ezPDF is the only Android PDF viewer with embedded multimedia capabilities. The app has a slightly old, skeuomorphic interface, and the red/orange action bar makes the interface non-intuitive. But despite the old interface, the app comes with many useful features. Annotating a document is just the start.

The top action bar is always visible while viewing a PDF. It allows you to make all sorts of annotations---adding text, commenting, highlighting, attaching files, creating shapes, and more. The controls are a bit confusing, as some options have an undo button and others rely on the eraser. Tap the Settings icon at the top bar and de-select any options you don't use to reduce clutter.

To highlight the text, drag the marker to select a desired portion of the text and tap Highlight . To do more with the text you highlighted, tap the AddAnnot option. Here, you can add a note with different colors, attach a file or image, write on a text box, and more.

After you're done marking up, tap the Annotations List on the action bar and select the annotation types you want to display or export. Then tap the Overflow menu and choose Export . Save or send the file as XFDF, FDF, or plain text. The FDF file format is compatible with Adobe specifications, so you don't have to worry about annotations disappearing.

The app even includes a barcode scanner to detect metadata, plus much more.

To create a highlight, drag the marker to the end of a sentence or paragraph. In the popup that appears, tap Highlight . Then from the color picker box, select the color of your choice. If you marked the wrong text, select the highlighted text and tap Delete .

If you wish to add a note, select the highlighted text and tap Note . Enter your note and tap Save . The note sign will appear on the page. To view or edit the note, just touch the icon. After you've marked up as you wish, go to the Reading menu and choose Notes and chapter . Here at the bottom of the Reading menu , tap the Export option.

The note saves in the PocketBook folder as an HTML file. What makes this app unique compared to others is its natural reading settings. At any time, tap the center of your screen to evoke a radial menu. You can adjust brightness, the page display mode, zoom settings, and even create a highlight without going through tedious options.

In PDF Options , you can change the view mode, increase or decrease the render quality, and enable thumbnail previews on the bottom bar. In Visual Options , you can set the font type, size, alignment, spacing, and more.

To have the best experience while reading PDFs on this app, you must tweak specific options. Tap Overflow menu > PDF Options and choose View Mode as Continuous with Render Quality as High . Set the quality to Low if the PDF you're reading has lots of images.

To create a highlight, drag the blue marker to the end of a sentence or paragraph. In the popup that appears, tap Highlight . You can also underline or strikethrough text with different colors. Google PDF Viewer best PDF reader apps for android

PDF reader apps have always been a pain in the neck. Generally speaking, there are two primary use cases for PDF files. The first is for business, where you can create PDF forms and have people fill them out. The second is for reading e-books. The PDF is an easily accessible file that works well for reading. Usually, PDF reader apps only cater to one of two of these use cases, and in this list, we’ve compiled a selection of the best PDF reader apps on Android for both. You can also check out the best PDF reader apps on other platforms by clicking here .

We’d also like to give an honorable mention to MJ PDF Reader ( Google Play ). It’s a simple FOSS reader that does things pretty well. It was also featured on our best Android apps of 2022 list .

The best PDF reader apps for Android

Adobe acrobat reader, fast scanner, foxit pdf reader, google pdf reader, google play books, microsoft word, mixplorer silver, moon+ reader, officesuite, pdf viewer pro, xodo pdf reader, a bit about pdf reader apps.

There are two dominant types of PDF reader apps. The first is for business and professional use. These let you do things like open PDFs, fill out if it’s a form, sign your name, annotate, and other similar features. They’re most useful for business professionals, students, or anyone who fills out forms and sends them back via email or online. Some typical examples of this include Adobe Acrobat Reader and DocuSign. Some apps, like CamScanner, add document scanning and fax features for additional functionality and usability. The other type of PDF reader is for recreational use. A lot of people format ebooks into PDF format. A proper PDF reader for books includes features like support for chapters, a reading mode, various scrolling modes, and other similar features. Apps on this list like that include Google Play Books and Moon+ Reader. These apps almost always support different ebook types as well. This list has PDF reader apps for both types. There is also a third, less common type of PDF reader app. All-in-one style apps include PDF support along with other non-PDF productivity features. For instance, CamScanner and Fast Scanner are document scanner apps with built-in PDF reader functionality. These apps are great for killing two birds with one stone and are also excellent for people who don’t want or need to carry around a bunch of apps when they can combine the functionality into a single app. We also have a few of these types of apps on the list.

Price: Free / $14.99-$29.99 per month

Adobe Acrobat Reader screenshot 2023

Adobe Acrobat Reader is the default choice for a lot of people. Most of the time, it just works. The app also has other features, including the ability to annotate and take notes on PDFs, fill out forms, some cloud storage support, and sign your signature. You also get a whole Material Design experience, support for 18:9 displays, and other aspect ratios. This is more for business or professional use than for reading PDF books, so we only recommend it for that use case. A subscription cost unlocks features along with Adobe’s Creative Cloud storage option. It’s not bad for your basic stuff.

Price: Free / $4.99 per month / Additional in-app purchases

CamScanner screenshot 2023

CamScanner is one of the most powerful PDF readers and creators. It can import PDFs. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. It can also scan physical documents into PDF files on your phone. It has various features to improve the scanning process, which helps make some clean, crisp documents. You can annotate PDFs, share them with anyone, or even fax them for a nominal fee. The paid route brings additional features such as 10GB of cloud space, editing features, and more. The free version should do well enough for simple stuff, though.

Price: Free / $10-$40 per month (three plans)

DocuSign screenshot 2023

DocuSign is a PDF reader for business use. The app’s primary function is to open documents, allow you to fill them out, sign them, and send them where they need to go. That part of the app is free. There are also a few subscription plans. $10 per month gives you a few additional features. The $25- and $40-per-month subscriptions build on that. Frankly, you don’t need to worry about subscriptions unless you do stuff like this professionally.

Price: Free / $4.99 per item

Fast Scanner is another PDF scanner app that isn’t as heavy as CamScanner. This nifty, simple app will scan documents using your smartphone camera and turn them into JPEG or PDF files for future use. It comes with various features to help sharpen and clean the scan as much as possible before finalizing anything. You can then use any PDF reader app to view it yourself. Most of the features, and all of the important ones, are available in the free version. You can also get the premium version free with Google Play Pass.

Price: Free / $0.99

Foxit PDF Reader screenshot 2021

Foxit is a lot like ezPDF. Both boast all-in-one solutions for PDF use. It features an organization system to keep your PDF files in line. You’ll also get ConnectedPDF support, the ability to fill out PDFs, and support for PDF files with certificates, passwords, and Microsoft’s RMS. It’s an excellent all-around option when factoring in the reading features. It’s mostly for business use, whereas ezPDF is more for pleasure reading, but it works great for reading, too. Foxit also offers an app specifically for business use, which costs $15.99. This version only costs $0.99.

Price: Free

Google PDF Viewer best PDF Reader apps for Android

Google PDF Reader is a plugin for Google Drive. The plugin gives native PDF support for Google Drive users. This isn’t the most powerful PDF reader app. However, you can open and view PDFs as needed. You can also print, search, and copy from PDF files. This also works as a standalone application for those needing something simple but not using Google Drive exclusively. There isn’t much else about it, honestly. It opens and lets you read through PDFs, and that’s all it does. The app works perfectly for simple use cases.

Google Play Books screenshot 2019 Final

Google Play Books is Google’s answer to Amazon’s Kindle. You can buy various books from the store and read them wherever. It can also read PDF files. There is no business use here — this is just for pleasure reading. You can also upload the PDF (and EPUB) files to the cloud to access across devices. The books become a part of your library like any other book. It’s a great way to consolidate an extensive collection behind a service that lets you buy more books. The app is free, but you can spend money on the books in the store. Google has another PDF reader that works with its Google Drive suite called Google PDF Viewer. That’s not a bad one for super basic use cases.

Price: Free (with ads)

Librera - best PDF readers for android

Librera is one of the more interesting PDF reader apps. It seems to change dramatically every time we update this list. These days, the app bills itself as an all-in-one ebook reader. It supports over a dozen formats, including PDF, EPUB, EPUB3, MOBI, DJVU, ZIP, and TXT. It also features a modern design, a night and day mode for more effortless reading at night. You can even listen to books using Text-to-speech if you want to. The app is a bit buggier than most others on this list, but it’s also completely free (with advertising). They also have another PDF reader in Google Play. It goes by the bland name PDF Reader and also works pretty well.

Price: Free / $6.99-$22.00 per month

Microsoft Word screenshot 2022 2

Microsoft Word is one of the most powerful mobile or desktop word processors. The app also supports PDF files. You can create PDF files and save them as that file type or open PDFs and view them through the app. Of course, Word does a host of other things, including word processing, stuff like resume building, and more. It also has features for ebook reading and other such PDF use cases. It’s a decent, all-in-one solution for those who need a PDF reader and a word processor.

Price: $4.99

MiXplorer Silver screenshot 2021

MiXplorer Silver is an all-in-one file explorer. It does all of your usual file browser stuff. That includes browsing files, opening various files, dealing with archives, and supporting most types of media sources. This one is special because it supports all kinds of stuff via plugins. It has support for ebook formats along with PDF. A separate (free) plugin adds PDF reader support to MiXplorer Silver and a decent ebook reader experience. It’s not the most elegant solution for ebook reading, but it’s an excellent way to kill several birds with one stone. The main app is $4.49. The PDF add-on (and all of the other add-ons) are free.

Price: Free / $4.99 with in-app purchases

Moon Reader - best pdr reader apps for android

Moon+ Reader is one of the most popular ebook readers. It has features like theming support, tons of visual options, auto-scroll, intelligent paragraphs, dual page mode (for landscape), and more. The app also supports many formats like EPUB, EPUB3, and, of course, PDF. It has the occasional rough edge, but it’s among the best options for those who read books in PDF format.

Price: Free / $6.99 per month

OfficeSuite is one of the most popular office apps on mobile. It can do a lot of things. There is support for documents (including from Microsoft Office), spreadsheets, presentations, and even PDF files. The PDF functionality is pretty much just business-focused. You can fill out forms, sign them, and add/access security features. This is a good option for those who need a traditional office app with PDF support. The premium version is relatively expensive, though.

PDF Viewer Pro screenshot 2023

PDF Viewer is a simple, basic PDF reader app. It carries all the basic features, including annotations, cloud support, zoom, bookmarks, and more. The pro version adds themes, multiple customization options, and document merging into a single PDF. You also get Material Design and a somewhat easy UI overall. We didn’t have any problems during our testing. However, some have reported the occasional performance bug. Thankfully, the free version is free, so you can try it without paying anything. It’s above average, but more powerful options are available.

Price: Free / $29.99 per year

WPS Office screenshot 2021

WPS Office (formerly Kingsoft Office) is another all-in-one office solution. It’s mostly an office app and deals with various documents, spreadsheets, and the like, but it also comes with PDF features. You can convert multiple documents to PDF and view PDF files natively. This is useful if you have a form or something that needs a more official format. It’s not too heavy on PDF features, but if you need an office app and a PDF reader, this is an excellent way to kill two birds with one stone. The subscription adds a few additional useful features and removes ads. It’s not wholly necessary, though.

Xodo is probably the best completely free PDF reader. It boasts quick loading and smooth navigation. You can also fill out PDF forms, sign them, and save your signature for future use. It also supports note-taking, bookmarking, cloud storage, file management, and more. You can even take notes on blank PDFs if you want to. It has a surprisingly good number of features, considering it’s free with no in-app purchases. We also like that it works for both business and recreational use. There doesn’t appear to be advertising either. Honestly, we can’t find a lot wrong with it. However, you can find more business or ebook reading features with a dedicated app.

Android PPT Presentation Seminar with pdf report : Android is an operating system designed for the phones, tablets and has taken the mobile internet to a different level. This applied science is widely used by the people and is open source software. Android was established by the android company of California in 2003 by Andy Rubin, the foremost intention of the company was to develop a highly developed system for cameras but later moved towards the smartphones.

Now, coming to the open handset alliance, it is a companion whose target is to advance open levels for mobile devices and furnish well experience devices for customers at cheaper rates, Android architecture has a group of software’s which are divided into four layers and they are:

  • Application layer
  • Application Framework
  • Libraries and
  • Linux kernel
  • Linux Kernel: The bottom layer of the android architecture is the Linux kernel and it genuinely doesn’t have the effect on the users, developers and furnishes a standard of separation between device hardware and upper layers of the android software group. The kernel handles all the things that Linux is genuinely better like networking and much more.
  • Libraries: Above the Linux kernel, a set of C and C++ library is present and all the sub-components of android operating system use it. Few core libraries are:
  • System C library
  • SQLite: It retrieves the data or information
  • SSL: It furnishes the internet
  • SGL: It is a 2D graphics engine
  • Libweb core: It is an advanced web browser
  • Open GL: It furnishes java interface
  • Media Framework: It furnishes unique media code
  • Web kit: This is a browser engine

Also See: Genetic Engineering ppt

Dalvik Virtual Machine: It is designed only for the android operating system which was advanced by Dan Bornstein; each and every android system runs on its own process called Dalvik virtual machine. It is dependent on Linux kernel for the functions like threading and low-level memory guidance.

  • Application Framework: This furnishes many excel standard services to many applications in the context of java classes. Along with it, the framework has the services like:
  • Activity Manager: Manage total aspects of the application life cycle and activity group.
  • Content Providers: Permits applications to proclaim and share information with other applications.
  • Resource Manager: Furnishes admittance to non-code embedded resources.
  • Notifications manager: Permits the applications to show alerts and notifications to the users.
  • Package Manager: Applications can find the data of other applications through it.
  • Telephony Manager: Furnishes the telephone service on the machine.
  • Location Manager: It furnishes the admittance to the services and upgrades the change in location.
  • Application layer: The topmost layer of the group of software is the application layer and the user mostly interacts with the application layer. Total applications are written using the programming language called java.

Android Security:

In these days all the tasks that were performed in a computer can now be performed on the mobile and this means that you the more virtual information or data in the mobile phones and need to secure it efficiently. Some of the features of the android security are:

  • Physical access: It is helpful in preventing hackers by permitting to have unlocked patterns and passwords.
  • App permissions: Every app we installed ask our permission to perform any task.
  • Application sandbox: This provides the security by not giving one application admittance to the resource of another application.
  • Rooting: An application with the root permission can change any part of the android operating system because ’root’ is a supreme user standard in Linux.
  • Malware: Unfortunately, android has malware issue and this do nothing on non-rooted phones and everything on rooted phones.

What is Project 2025? What to know about the conservative document

pdf presentation for android

The 2025 Presidential Transition Project, more commonly known as 'Project 2025' has stirred controversy in recent weeks.

Following the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump on July 13, and the start of the 2024 Republican National Convention just days later, the political playbook of Project 2025 adds yet another layer of discourse surrounding the GOP.

Trump has since claimed to know nothing about Project 2025 and "disagree with some of the things they’re saying, and some of the things they’re saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal," he wrote in a July 5 post on Truth Social . "Anything they do, I wish them luck, but I have nothing to do with them.”

Here's what we know about Project 2025.

What is Project 2025?

Project 2025 is a plan created by The Heritage Foundation to usher in the country's next conservative president, but whether or not that includes Trump is uncertain.

The conservative blueprint has policy recommendations that are divided into four pillars, according to a Heritage Foundation article : a policy agenda, a personnel database known as the "Conservative LinkedIn," Presidential Administration Academy training, and a playbook for the first 180 days of the next Administration in an effort that the organization claims will "pave the way for an effective conservative Administration."

What are the key highlights of Project 2025?

Some of the main proposals of the 900-page initiative drew concern among political groups, and as of now, there aren't many conservatives who have openly supported the idea. Per USA TODAY , here are some takeaways from Project 2025:

  • Gut federal agencies, including the FBI
  • Eliminate the Department of Education
  • Require public high school students to take a military entrance assessment
  • Ban on abortion drugs nationwide
  • Overtake policies like the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)

Who created Project 2025?

The Heritage Foundation , with the help of other conservative groups, introduced the roadmap and is the organization that created Project 2025. The people behind Project 2025 include Paul Dans and Spencer Chretien, who worked under the Trump administration and serve as directors of the effort. Dans was Trump's former chief of staff at the Office of Personnel Management, while Chretien was the former special assistant to Trump and associate director of Presidential Personnel.

When was Project 2025 released?

Project 2025 was published in April 2023, according to USA TODAY. A conservative commentary piece by the Associate Director Spencer Chretien outlined the initiative in January 2023, stating that "It’s past time to lay the groundwork for a White House more friendly to the right."

What have Democrats said about Project 2025

The plan faced a wave of criticism by President Joe Biden, who said in a video posted to X that "Project 2025 will destroy America." Democrats, such as Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), have also called it a "playbook for authoritarianism." The 920-page plan was created by The Heritage Foundation , a conservative think tank. Several key figures involved in Project 2025 also worked in Trump's first administration .

Why is Project 2025 important?

This blueprint has become a major talking point among left- and right-wing supporters. Regarding the goal of Project 2025, The Heritage Foundation said that "With the right conservative policy recommendations and properly vetted and trained personnel to implement them, we will take back our government." Project 2025 is a wish list for conservative policies, that, if successful, could sway the opinions of voters this November, USA TODAY reported.
