Child labor is a worldwide phenomenon but more focus is required on developing countries, like Bangladesh. Most of us consider child labor exploitative and therefore, socially unacceptable. Over the last years, Ready Made Garments (RMG) sector experienced impressive growth rates and specifically woven and knitwear products are in high demand by the USA and European markets. Adherence with national and international compliance standards has become increasingly important to ensure customer requirements as well as to maintain the sectors competitiveness, but in many cases factory stuff still lacks adequate skills and knowledge to ensure that required compliance standards are reached. This thesis addresses the need to increase the knowledge level of factory practitioners and other interested parties on major social and environmental issues in order to contribute to the sectors competitiveness and to play major role for job, income generation and national economy.

Child Labor issue is one if the great concern throughout the world. Despite the initiatives and strong supports of international organizations and development agencies, child labor has increasing rapidly though the world. It is controversial and emotional issues for the world but the scenario is acute in the developing countries. Moreover, the number of child labors from 5 to 14 years is 250 million in the world today and of them 61% belongs in Asia. Bangladesh is contested terrain in this context and contained 6.5 million child labors who constitute 16.6% of the total labor force of the country. The focus of this study is to explore the actual life-experience of child labor and to sort out the factors motiving them to get involved into work in Khulna city of Bangladesh. Findings reveal that large family size and poverty forced the children to get involved in laborious work, with inappropriate wage, at the very early age to support their family, financially. In addition, heavy and hard manual works, together with frequent physical tortures, made these young children very vulnerable, physically and mentally; hence demand special attention for remedies. In this report, we collected information randomly by direct observation at the field level, Open-ended semi-structured interviews, and analysis the data and compare with others country's child labor situation in the world as well as find out the appropriate reason of increasing child labor in Khulna city of Bangladesh. We find out the cause, effect and solutions/recombination of the child labor to minimize the big problem. The true nature of the conditions under which children work-and how they affect them-cannot be fully understood until we ask the children themselves. To be sure, the right of Child to participate in matters related to their well-being has been enshrined in the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child, and it was practiced in this study. Much more needs to be better understood, both about the problem and its solutions.

Child labor is a common practice in developing countries. Child labor is defined as work that deprives children of their childhood, their potential and dignity as an emerging social threat increasing at an alarming rate. The statistical secondary data analysis method was used in this study to estimate the causes and different types of victimization trend on child at workplace in Bangladesh. The authors have experienced that the child are now working in multidimensional sectors like agriculture, service sector, industry, construction, domestic work, transport etc for their hand to mouth. They are forced to perform more than one shift duty a day keeping contradiction with the ILO regulations in this connection. They are on the different kinds of workplace victimization where physical abuse, health injury, economical exploitation and sexual abuse are on the top rank. There is no headache on their educational deprivation in our ongoing society.

Bangladesh is a densely populated country with populations about 160 millions. About half of the populations of Bangladesh are under the age of 18 who are considered as children and more than 20 million of them are under the age of 5. About 73% of children live in the rural areas and 27% live in the urban areas. One-third of these children continue to live below the international poverty line. The violation of child rights is a common matter in Bangladesh. The children have basic rights to education, balance diet, health and nutrition, protection, participation, recreation, safe water, sanitation, and hygiene. Most of the children of Bangladesh are deprived from these basic rights. The GoB with UNICEF has taken steps for schooling all the children and to decrease child labors and other child abuses. An attempt has been made here to discuss the aspects of child rights to create a child-friendly environment in Bangladesh.

This report presents new research on violations of international labour standards in Walmart garment supplier factories. Information was collected through interviews and focus group discussions including 344 workers engaged in Walmart supply chains in Bangladesh, Cambodia and India; and an in-depth case study, spanning 8 months, of working conditions in an Indonesian Walmart supplier employing 3,800 Indonesian contract workers. These findings, collected between December 2012 and May 2016, are situated in context of both previous studies on Walmart supply chains and the broader context of the global production network.

Industrial relations is a multidisciplinary field that studies the employment relationship (Ackers, P., 2002). Industrial relations is increasingly being called employment relations or employee relations because of the importance of non-industrial employment relationships (Philip L., Adrian T., Mark S., 2003); this move is sometimes seen as further broadening of the human resource management trend (Paul B., Rebecca K., 2008). Indeed, some authors now define human resource management as synonymous with employee relations (Ed R., 2008). Other authors see employee relations as dealing only with non-unionized workers, whereas labor relations is seen as dealing with unionized workers (John R O., Susan T C., 2005). Industrial relations studies examine various employment situations, not just ones with a unionized workforce. However, according to Bruce E. Kaufman "To a large degree, most scholars regard trade unionism, collective bargaining and labor-management relations, and the national labor policy and labor law within which they are embedded, as the core subjects of the field" (Bruce E. K., 2008). Under this circumstances, it is a trial to find out Challenges and Prospects of Industrial Relations in the RMG Sectors of Bangladesh.

Shedding light on violations of international labour standards and challenges H&M may face in upholding commitments to decent work, this report contributes new research collected through interviews with 251 workers in Cambodia and India engaged in H&M supply chains. These findings, collected between August and October 2015, are situated in context of both previous studies on H&M supply chains in Cambodia and India and the broader context of the global production network.
