UM undergraduate and postgraduate theses/dissertations are available as text-based PDF files through ETDs, the Electronic Theses and Dissertations service.

Traditionally, the Melitensia Department housed a selection of theses and dissertations pertaining to postgraduate and undergraduate degree programmes. In 2008, the UM Library initiated the ETD pilot project. The reasons for shifting from print to electronic were various, including:

  • increasing the accessibility of research
  • raising the profile of Higher Education in Malta
  • meeting patrons’ expectations
  • creating the virtual space.

All the thesis and dissertations submitted to the UM Library are now available on the Institutional Repository OAR@UM and can be accessed via HyDi.

Access ETDs

HyDi (the UM Library portal) [Intranet] OAR@UM (UM's Institutional Repository) [Intranet] ETDs are accessible to academic, administrative, technical and researcher staff and students via the UM IT account.
