What is Special About Our School?

Bedgrove Junior School is located on a large, well-maintained site to the Southeast of Aylesbury in Bedgrove. It is at the heart of a well-established and networked local community with nearby shops, amenities, places of worship and sports clubs and facilities.  The school itself has very good facilities and its own grounds and is on the same site as the separate link infant school (Bedgrove Infant School).  

There are 480 pupils on roll aged between 7 and 11 - Years 3 to 6.

Maths Homework Timetable Summer.pdf. Year 3 Homework. Reading - We expect the children toread at least three times a week for a minimum of 10 minutes in Year 3. They should record this in their Reading Records. (These will be sent home with reading books once we have completed assessments to ensure the children have books at the correct level.)

Spring 1 Words. Autumn 1 Words. Autumn 2 words. Year 4 Homework. Reading. We expect the children to read at least three times a week for a minimum of 10 minutes in Year 4. They should record this in their school planners. We ask parents to sign this weekly.

School Information. The school week equates to 32.5 hours/week. Our compulsory school times are 8:45am to 3:15pm. We expect that all pupils will attend wearing the school uniform and that all items of uniform will be marked clearly with the child's name.

Bedgrove Junior School offers places to 120 pupils per year group. The school's admission arrangements are as described by the Buckinghamshire Education authority for all county schools. All applications for a place at our school must be made via the Buckinghamshire Council School Admissions Portal.

How have we plotted this catchment area map?

This School Guide heat map has been plotted using official pupil data taken from the last School Census collected by the Department for Education. It is a visualisation of where pupils lived at the time of the annual School Census.

Our heat maps use groups of postcodes, not individual postcodes, and have naturally soft edges. All pupils are included in the mapping (i.e. children with siblings already at the school, high priority pupils and selective and/or religious admissions) but we may have removed statistical ‘outliers’ with more remote postcodes that do not reflect majority admissions.

For some schools, the heat map may be a useful indicator of the catchment area but our heat maps are not the same as catchment area maps. Catchment area maps, published by the school or local authority, are based on geographical admissions criteria and show actual cut-off distances and pre-defined catchment areas for a single admission year.

This information is provided as a guide only. The criteria in which schools use to allocate places in the event that they are oversubscribed can and do vary between schools and over time. These criteria can include distance from the school and sometimes specific catchment areas but can also include, amongst others, priority for siblings, children of a particular faith or specific feeder schools. Living in an area where children have previously attended a school does not guarantee admission to the school in future years. Due to number of reforms to GSCE reporting introduced by the government in 2014, such as the exclusion of iGCSE examination results, the official school performance data may not accurately report a school’s full results. For more information, please see About and refer to the section, ‘Why does a school show 0% on its GSCE data dial? In many affected cases, the Average Point Score will also display LOW SCORE as points for iGCSEs and resits are not included.
