How to create a video presentation

Step 1. plan and prepare.

Proper planning and preparation can help the rest of your presentation creation process run smoothly. 

Think about what you’ll say, and use a storyboard to build out a visual plan of your presentation ideas. Storyboarding your presentation, instead of making it on the fly, will help you stay focused when you fire up your presentation software. (You don’t need to be an artist; just set out the scenes in a way that makes sense to you.)

At this point, start writing the video script for your presentation. You’ll know what to say and when to say it, and won’t fill your presentation up with filler words like “um” and pauses when trying to think about what to say next. 

Step 2. Gather resources

After you’ve completed your paper storyboard and script, it’s time to go digital. With Descript, you can build your slideshows into the video editor just like any slideshow tool . 

To create a presentation video in Descript:

• Hit New project .
• Import any media (images, infographics, short video clips, GIFs, or sounds) you want to include in your presentation.

Decide if you want to record a voiceover only (leaving the record option as Audio only ), or add a floating head video with your webcam to show yourself as the speaker by clicking the Screen option. Either way, go through your script as the slides move along. 

If you created your presentation in another software like Google Slides, there may be no built-in option to record your presentation over the slides. In that case, use Descript’s screen recorder to film your screen with audio. The video file will be ready and waiting for you in the video editor when you finish recording.

Step 4. Edit and enhance

At this point, you’ve got the basic presentation down. It’s time to bring out your inner filmmaker and turn the slideshow into something special.

While many know Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara for their outstanding portrayals of Johnny and Moira Rose in the Schitt’s Creek cast, long before the popular comedy series, they were delivering hilarious performances in Christopher Guest’s films. In this early Best in Show scene, we witness Gerry’s stunned reaction when his wife informs him that she had hundreds of boyfriends before they got together. This is information he’ll continue to process throughout the movie as she runs into some of them.

The Introduction Of Scott And Stefan (and Miss Agnes)

Scott (John Michael Higgins) and Stefan’s (Michael McKean) introduction offers some backstory to their relationship, their happy dog-loving life, and an introduction to their shih tzu Miss Agnes, we also get to see Stefan humorously scold his partner every time Scott finds an opportunity to make a hilarious innuendo.

Well, technically, from what Sherri says, he likes a few specific things she also likes (snow peas, soup, talking or not talking, etc.)

Meg And Hamilton's Romantic Starbucks Story

There’s something comically bland about the way Meg and Hamilton talk about how they met, back when they were in school and frequenting Starbucks. That’s Starbucks-plural, as they were often seeing one another from across the street at different Starbucks. You’d think this story couldn’t get any more riveting, but then they talk about what drinks they were drinking at the time, and that's followed by a timeline of caffeinated beverages they’ve enjoyed since then. So, there’s that.

The "God Loves A Terrier" Song

Cookie and Gerry aren’t just terrier enthusiasts, they’re also singers! I’m not going to lie, I can’t hear a mention of a terrier without immediately wanting to sing “God Loves a Terrier.” I just wish that the people who have to witness my high-pitched musical attempt to reference the movie were nearly as enraptured as the guests are at Winky’s party.

"I think we're overpacking, don't you?"

How many kimonos does one need for a 48-hour trip? If you’re Scott, at least seven. Maybe eight. I love the way Stefan questions if they’re overpacking, but I also love that later on in the film we see them completely make over their hotel room to make it more their style of decor.

"You stop namin' nuts." Christopher Guest

Christopher Guest appears in the film as the bloodhound-loving Harlan Pepper. But Harlan doesn’t only love bloodhounds. He also loves fishing and, as we learn on his ride to the show, he loves to name nuts. So much so that he used to drive his mother crazy as he spouted off as many nuts as he could name.

Meg and Hamilton's Argument At The Airport

I think it’s in this scene that we see just how ridiculous Meg and Hamilton's disagreements are. While Hamilton is annoyed that they’re running late for their flight because of Meg, she’s firm in her belief that if they’d just taken a car service, they would've left on time. All of this culminates to Beatrice snapping at a man who comes over to pet her, and the married couple unite in their irritation of the friendly “mean man” who must have provoked their dog.

Max Berman's Hello To Cookie

Poor Gerry. Also poor Fay Berman (Linda Kash). Both have to stand by and watch as Max Berman (Larry Miller) hand Winky over to Gerry so that he can greet Cookie hello by planting a big kiss on her lips. The look on Gerry’s face as he watches this play out is priceless.

Max's Demonstration Of What A Terrible Hostage Negotiator He is

We already knew that Max was probably a terrible hostage negotiator with his “they all jump” comment at the dinner table, but he gives us a full demonstration of what it might be like to have to deal with him in a stressful and potentially catastrophic situation when his and Fay’s son is up on the roof with Winky, and Max threatens to gouge his eyes out with his thumb if he doesn’t come down.

"Nah, that's the good one. That should work," Cookie - "Just give it a rub," Gerry

One of the most uncomfortable moments of the movie happens when Cookie and Gerry arrive at the hotel only to have their credit card declined at check-in. Playing the hotel manager, Mark, Ed Begley Jr. does a great job of politely responding to this awkwardness as Cookie and Gerry insist that this is the good credit card and that they only received one notice, so it should be fine.

"Is this L.L. Bean? Can I check?"

Watching as the dog owners mingle and try to talk to one another really shines a light on the different walks of life they come from. Take the glazed-over looks on Meg and Hamilton’s faces as Harlan goes on about fishing, for example. And then Hamilton manages to shift the conversation to a topic that's more his speed by asking if Harlan’s jacket is L.L. Bean, much to his wife’s embarrassment.

"Six months working with leather and red thread," Stefan

Cookie and Gerry hit it off with Scott and Stefan immediately. In a sweet moment, Gerry admires the embroidery work on Scott’s leather pants, and Stefan sighs dramatically at how long it took for his partner to make them. But let’s face it, the pants are amazing and everyone in the group is in awe of them.

"You get the Busy Bee, I need to trim her whiskers!" Meg

Meg and Hamilton’s drama continues to escalate when they realize that Beatrice’s favorite toy is not with them. This erupts in an argument over who should return to the hotel room to retrieve it. While Meg insists she has to trim Beatrice’s whiskers, Hamilton erupts and demands she be the one to go get the toy. Is it any wonder that Beatrice is feeling a bit anxious by this point?

Buck Laughlin Suggesting They Dress Up The Hound With A Pipe And Sherlock Holmes Hat

Let’s pause for a moment and celebrate Fred Willard and Jim Piddock’s performances as Buck Laughlin and Trevor Beckwith. While it’s clear Trevor takes this whole event very seriously, Buck has nothing but jokes and ridiculous suggestions to provide in his commentary. That includes his idea to put a Sherlock Holmes hat on the bloodhound.

"What are you, a wizard, a genius? Why didn't you tell me that before?! Thanks for your help, you stupid hotel manager!" Meg

Remember how kind and patient the hotel manager was with Cookie and Gerry when their credit card was declined? Yeah, his patience is put to a major test here as Meg tears apart the hotel room and tells him and the maid off because she can’t find the dog’s toy. And still, I credit this man for not completely losing it. In fact, he even suggests that Meg try the pet store downstairs, which only earns him an even meaner rebuke.

"You're gonna just have to let this go, ok?" Christy Cummings

There’s obviously some tension brewing between Sherri Ann and Christy, as we see Christy’s new hairstyle, which Sherri put together. Of course, the makeup Sherri applied was too much — “freakish,” according to Christy — and had to come off, much to Sherri’s disappointment. But, per Christy, she needs to let it go.

Buck Laughlin Pondering How They Make The Miniature Dogs Miniature

Trevor continues to tolerate Buck’s ridiculous comments throughout the dog show, including this question about how miniature schnauzer’s are miniaturized.

"That handler looks familiar to me." Buck Laughlin

While the other run-ins Cookie has with her old flames are much more eventful in the movie, this brief gag still makes me laugh. As Cookie is walking Winky out on the floor, Buck pauses his commentary to note that she looks kind of familiar to him.

"Don't spit at me!" Meg

At this point, Meg and Hamilton are in full-on meltdown mode. Meg has failed to retrieve the Busy Bee, and the toy she bought as a replacement is not to Hamilton’s satisfaction. They’re both very unhappy, but Meg will not tolerate Hamilton spitting on her while he’s screaming at her.

Buck Laughlin Talking To Dr. Millbank About Columbus Landing In Philadelphia On The Mayflower.

Buck Laughlin does not exclusively deliver his rambling commentary to Trevor in this film. Here we see him attempting to impart some historical wisdom on Dr. Millbank (Bob Balaban), president of the Mayflower Kennel Club. It’s almost impossible to keep up with his inaccuracies as he explains the "little known fact" that Columbus didn’t actually land in Philadelphia on the Mayflower. The good doctor is barely able to sift through everything that’s wrong about what Laughlin is saying in order to politely correct him.

"He went after her like she's made out of ham." Buck Laughlin

Beatrice's dreams of winning at the Mayflower were dashed when she showed aggression toward the judge. The dog was ejected from the competition, much to Meg and Hamilton’s frustration and disappointment. And much to our amusement when we factor in Buck’s response to the dog going after the judge like she was ham.

"I'm gonna be right here until I get another message from myself." Sherri

The pressure of a dog show is not for everyone, and Sherri needs a break as she stress-eats popcorn and waits for herself to tell herself it’s time to go back out there.

Scott And Stefan Watching The Behind-The-Scenes Drama Between Christy And Sherri

The scene where Scott and Stefan watch part of the show on TV as Christy and Rhapsody in White win best in group is hilarious and makes me wish we could’ve had much more of their commentary on the whole dog show. In the end of this scene, they’re left with their jaws on the floor as they watch Christy and Sherri Ann exchange a very passionate celebratory kiss.

Cookie Trying To Walk On Her Hurt Knee

Catherine O’Hara is great at physical humor, and this scene is pure comedy because of it. Just as she’s about to take Winky out for the final competition, she falls and hurts her knee. But it doesn’t leave her with a mere limp. Instead, her leg seems to jerk in every direction as she tries to walk. It’s such a goofy moment and a perfect display of how funny O’Hara is.

The Look On Gerry's Face The Moment Winky Wins

Gerry was barely prepared to be the one to take Winky out onto the floor after Cookie hurt her knee. But he steps up, two-left-feet and all and does it. That they would actually win Best In Show is clearly not what he's expecting, as evidenced by the way he first turns and looks behind him when the judge points to him to declare Winky the winner, and then stares in total shock as it hits him that they just won the Mayflower.

"We are so lucky to have been raised amongst catalogs." Meg Swan

No judgment to anyone who enjoys looking at catalogs. Who doesn’t? But Meg and Hamilton waxing on about how great it is to thumb through an L.L. Bean is too much for me.

"Am I nuts or... something's wrong with his feet."

We might have forgotten that Gerry has two left feet, as he explains to us near the start of the movie. But that bit comes back when he has to be the one to take Winky out on the floor for the final round. It’s Buck who actually notices Gerry’s feet, and Trevor seems a bit stunned to have to credit his co-host for noticing this little tidbit.

"How much weight do you think I could benchpress?"

Because this is something you’d imagine would come up from the commentators at a dog show, right? Even Buck seems to know the question is out there, but that doesn’t stop him from following through with the conversation as Trevor tries to politely play along.

"No, that's a bear in a bee costume," Meg

We see a few people have the unfortunate experience of dealing with an angry Meg throughout the movie. This pet store owner (Hiro Kanagawa) is one of them. While he patiently tries to help find a comparable toy for Meg to buy to replace Busy Bee, she has to point out what’s wrong with everything he shows her. And then she ends up buying a toy that’s the least bee-like.

In the epilogue, Cookie has one last run-in with an ex. This time, it’s a recording engineer named “Bulge” (Steven M. Porter), and like the other men Cookie encounters, he cares a total of 0% that her husband is standing next to her as he reminisces and flirts with Cookie. And at this point, Gerry can only smack his head on the microphone over and over in response.

Donald Trump ’s camp has threatened legal action over the upcoming movie “The Apprentice,” and the movie hasn’t had the smoothest ride to theaters.

But here it comes.

Briarcliff Entertainment has released a clip (watch below) from the upcoming movie depicting a young Donald Trump .

“ The Apprentice ,” in theaters Oct. 11, stars Emmy nominee Sebastian Stan (”Pam & Tommy,” “A Different Man,” “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”) as young Trump and Emmy winner Jeremy Strong (Kendall Roy in ” Succession ”) as Trump’s mentor, attorney Roy Cohn .

The film follows Trump as he becomes Cohn’s protege in the 1970s. The first-look clip shows Stan and Strong riding in a car. As Stan’s Trump takes a call, Strong’s Cohn attempts to guide him through his responses.

Directed by Ali Abbasi (“Holy Spider,” “The Last of Us”) and written by Gabriel Sherman , the film also stars Oscar nominee Maria Bakalova (“Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,” “Bodies Bodies Bodies”) as Ivana Trump and Martin Donovan as as Fred Trump Sr .

While “The Apprentice” premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May and is set to be released in theaters through Briarcliff Entertainment, the film has faced problems on its way to theaters.

The film’s producers outline those problems in a Kickstarter campaign for the film.

“The obstacles we have faced releasing this movie are well documented,” they say. “Our distribution was blocked . We were hit with a cease and desist from Trump’s lawyers. Major media companies were afraid to show you this movie. Releasing this movie has become a DAVID and GOLIATH struggle, but with your support, you can help #ReleaseTheApprentice.”

The ask: “Help us promote and defend the acclaimed Trump biopic that Corporate America is scared to show you.”

Benefits of backing the project include early streaming access and, for the biggest backers, tickets to the film’s premiere.

So far the Kickstarter has generated more than $59,000 of its $100,000 goal .

One of the more controversial parts of the film has been a scene where Trump rapes Ivana Trump, who was then his wife.

In May, Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for the Trump campaign , told Variety the film is “garbage” and “pure fiction which sensationalizes lies that have been long debunked.”

Stan, 42, who plays Trump in the film, is a graduate of Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts.

He won the Silver Bear for best leading performance at the Berlin International Film Festival for his performance in “ A Different Man ,” in theaters Sept. 20. He was also nominated for an Emmy for playing Tommy Lee in the Hulu series “ Pam & Tommy .”

The Fall Guy was a critical hit for stars Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt , with its thrilling story incorporating a variety of exotic locations. The film follows Colt Seavers (Gosling), a stuntman, working on Jody Moreno's (Blunt) film production, when he soon finds himself caught up in a mystery surrounding the film's leading actor, Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor Johnson). As The Fall Guy is all about Hollywood and corruption in the film industry, it would be easy for audiences to assume that the movie was filmed in Los Angeles or in a Hollywood studio. However, in reality, most of the filming took place in Sydney, Australia.

The Fall Guy Was Partly Filmed Outside Sydney Opera House

The famous landmark was used as a backdrop for ryan gosling in an intense action scene.

The Sydney Opera House is seen twice throughout the film at crucial points, the first being on a shooting day for Jody's film. On this particular day, the lead actor of the film, Tom Ryder doesn't turn up to work, so Jody asks Colt if he can play the role, and they will use CGI to deep fake Tom's face over his. Colt agrees and they begin filming lots of stunts and explosions in front of the famous landmark, using it as a backdrop for the action taking place .

The second time that the Sydney Opera House is shown in The Fall Guy is when Colt finds Tom Ryder's phone with evidence of Tom committing a murder. Tom's goons chase after Colt, leading to an epic action-packed scene involving Colt and the goons fighting on a truck while the truck is driven all around Sydney's city center – one of The Fall Guy 's record-breaking stunt sequences . There is one moment in this scene where the truck drives over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, leading to the audience being able to see The Sydney Opera House in the background of the scene.

The City Of Sydney Was Used Heavily In Filming The Fall Guy

The city was utilized so well that more or less every inch of the city was filmed.

Lots of elements of Sydney's city center were used in the filming of The Fall Guy, both through interior and exterior shots. In terms of showing the streets and outside of Sydney, Filming took place on Elizabeth Street (mainly during the truck scene mentioned above), where Colt and the goons drive up the street during the fight scene. Rushcutters Bay was another main filming location for the pivotal scene where Colt fakes his own death on the speedboat, so Tom's team believe him to be dead in order for him to come up with a plan to stop them.

In terms of interior shots and making use of the inside of Sydney's architecture, filming mainly took place in the Kimpton Margot Hotel. The hotel was used as the set for the moment Colt discovers the dead body, and the corridor acts as the video evidence the police have that Colt was at the hotel, leaving the room with the dead body inside. As well as this, the Wynyard Train Station was used for some exterior shots to show advertising and marketing of Tom Ryder on the big screens in a passing shot to highlight the fame of the character.

The Action Sequence At The End Was Filmed On Beaches Around Sydney

Most of the action scenes were filmed on beaches away from the public.

There were two main beaches used in The Fall Guy , these being the North Narrabeen Beach and the Kurnell Beach. Both of these beaches were used during the same sequence of the film. The North Narrabeen Beach was used as the location for Colt and Jody's reunion after Colt's year away following his accident. The scene takes place when Jody is directing her film, answering questions from different departments and giving her feedback on the props. She was then re-introduced to Colt and they had an unwelcome reunion on the beach together.

The Kurnell Beach was used in the sequence after this, where Jody makes Colt do a dangerous stunt where he is thrown against a rock and then set on fire. Colt was forced to film this scene multiple times while Jody criticized him between takes because of their break up and what she has been through over the past year. The beaches were the best places to film the dangerous stunts as they involved a lot of fire and explosions, and the beach could be blocked off away from the public for their safety, allowing The Fall Guy to feature some impressive practical effects.

'Titanic will literally never look the same' after researchers discovered the site of James Cameron's famous 'I'm flying' scene is breaking apart

• Part of Titanic's iconic front tip has fallen off at the bottom of the ocean, researchers report.
• The prow inspired one of the most famous scenes in James Cameron's 1997 film about the shipwreck.
• They also located the site of "Diana of Versailles," a prized statue thought to have been lost.

One of the most recognizable parts of the Titanic has fallen off after more than a century on the ocean floor.

The story of the ship's historic wreck was immortalized by James Cameron's eponymous 1997 movie. One of the film's best-known scenes appears early on when Jack, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, raises Rose, played by Kate Winslet, into the air as they stand at the very front of the ocean liner.

"I'm flying!" Rose says as she spreads her arms.

But an uncrewed dive to the wreck this summer revealed that a segment of that very part of the ship has fallen apart, NPR reported on Monday.

"We discovered when we reached the wreck last month that the port side railing has fallen off," James Penca, a researcher with RMS Titanic, Inc., which has sole salvage rights over the Titanic's remains, told NPR. "This is a very natural thing, different parts of the railing are getting weaker. But for such a high-profile and highly photographed and iconic railing to now be resting on the ocean floor below, it's a significant change."

"Titanic will literally never look the same," he added.

RMS Titanic made the discovery when it sent a vehicle equipped "with high-resolution cameras and scanning equipment" down for the first time since 2010, according to NPR.

One goal of the mission was to find and photograph artifacts that could be recovered in the future, Penca said. The most coveted item was "Diana of Versailles," a two-foot-tall bronze statue from Titanic's first-class lounge, he said. The statue had last been photographed in 1986, and the odds of finding it again were like finding "a needle in a haystack," Penca added.

"After many trials and errors, we did manage to find Diana and take her first photos in 38 years, and we found her with just hours remaining in the expedition," Penca told NPR.

During the dive, researchers also took 2 million photos of the Titanic, NPR reported. Time is of the essence to record as much of the shipwreck on camera as possible, since scientists have predicted that bacteria could consume enough of the metal frame that the ruins could disappear in a handful of years.

More than a century after it sunk during its maiden voyage in 1912, killing more than 1,500 of its passengers, the story of the Titanic has continued to beckon adventurers hoping to view the shipwreck with their own eyes. But the journey to its resting site, more than 12,000 feet below the surface of the Atlantic, is fraught with danger.

Last year, the now-shuttered company OceanGate Expeditions became the center of a global spectacle when five people died after their submersible, the Titan, imploded while en route down, leaving a debris field on the seafloor.

Following the incident, RMS Titanic said it was planning another dive to the ship's wreck, but that it wouldn't go immediately after the disaster.

New surveillance video adds more detail to deadly hit-and-run in north philly.

FOX 29 has obtained surveillance video of a hit-and-run that left a 35-year-old woman dead in North Philadelphia.

PHILADELPHIA - New video has been obtained by FOX 29 in a deadly hit-and-run in North Philadelphia Sunday night. 

Philadelphia police are investigating the death of a 35-year-old woman who was struck by a passing motorist along North 5th and West Wellens Street. 

Surveillance video shows a white SUV pulling over moments after striking the woman at 10:25 p.m. 

We are not showing the impact, but the video also shows the driver of the SUV pulling away seconds later. 

Driver who reported fatally striking woman in Philadelphia left scene before officers arrived: police

Authorities in Philadelphia say a woman was killed after being struck by a driver who reported the accident to police, but left before officers arrived.

The victim died at Einstein Medical Center around 11 p.m. So far the identity of the victim has not been released.

"That broke my heart because 3 years ago I got hit by a car and almost died" said neighbor Xavier Williams.

Williams lives a block away from the crash scene where onlookers pulled over to help the victim while an ambulance arrived.

Police say the driver of the striking vehicle called 911 to report someone ran onto the highway, but the driver left before police arrived.

The video obtained by FOX 29 also shows the victim and another person in some sort of physical altercation on the sidewalk.  

It appears the victim was either pushed or fell into the street before getting hit by the SUV.  

In the video you can see the other person walking away after the woman was run over.  Neighbors hope the driver is identified.

"To hit someone, stop and then recognize you hit someone, you ain’t run over a piece of trash, it wasn’t roadkill, it was a human being" said Williams.

The Philadelphia Police have not given an official description of the driver or the striking vehicle. They are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call police.

Surveillance video captures fatal hit-and-run in Miami Beach as nearby officer drives away from scene

MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - Surveillance video captured a horrifying hit-and-run on the streets of Miami Beach, claiming the life of a mother who was riding her bicycle.

The video, obtained exclusively by 7News, shows several angles of a Blue Ford Bronco when it “sideswiped the victim’s electric bicycle and the victim” in front of the Miami Beach Police station, according to the police report.

Sixty-three-year-old Esmat Ahmed Ibrahim Khedr was thrown from her bicycle and hit her head against the raised curb.

The wife and mother was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Officers responded to the April 28 tragedy and began looking for the hit-and-run driver.

Officers said different witnesses told them “the subject look[ed] back through his passenger side mirror and shrug[ed] his shoulders as he sped away from the scene.”

Surveillance footage shows the Bronco heading south on Washington Avenue and not stopping.

Throughout their investigation, detectives learned that before and during the crash, the suspect was following an acquaintance, who was driving a grey Bronco.

The driver of the grey Bronco is said to have told detectives that, after seeing the aftermath of the wreck, he “tried to convince the subject to return to the scene.”

But according to officers, the subject stated that he was “not going back to jail.”

The acquaintance was worried for his safety, telling officers that if word got out that he had helped the police, “the subject will shoot and kill him.”

Days after the hit-and-run, Demarcus Harrington was caught and cuffed in Broward. He was charged with leaving the scene of a crash causing death after being transferred to Miami-Dade.

But surveillance video also captures a police SUV pulling up to Washington Avenue while on 11th Street as witnesses frantically helped the injured victim.

Pedestrians in the area are seen flagging the officer down.

Despite the call for help, video captures the SUV making a right turn and heading south on Washington Avenue, leaving the injured victim on the ground and helpless.

Miami Beach Police said the officer, identified as Edward Cavalie, was fired immediately after being investigated by Internal Affairs.

In a statement to 7News, Miami Beach Police Chief Wayne Jones said:

“After a comprehensive investigation, Mr. Cavalie’s employment was terminated immediately. Mr. Cavalie’s actions are not indicative of the dedication and professionalism of the hardworking men and women of the Miami Beach Police Department. Our prayers remain with the victim of this tragic incident.”

Harrington remains at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and has a pending trial.

7News has requested the internal affairs report to learn more about the fired officer and how officers tracked down Harrington.
