Watch What Happens When Lava Is Poured On Bulletproof Glass
There may come a time in your life when youâre faced with a truly mind-blowing challenge where you have to save yourself from hot gurgling lava but donât know which material would be best to resist the hot temperatures and keep you shielded. Or if youâre just interested to see what happens if hot lava comes in contact with bulletproof glass, youâre at the right place.
Bulletproof glass is usually made from a combination of two or more types of glass, one hard and one soft which allows it to be more elastic than normal glass so if something hits it with brutal force, it flexes instead of shattering completely. The more the layers of glass, the stronger the material and the more protection it offers. Bulletproof glass is often used instead of normal glass where high security is required such as windows of jewelry shops, embassies and even for vehicles belonging to military or government organizations. So it wouldnât be wrong to say that itâs quite durable and strong for everyday situations.
But what happens if bulletproof glass comes in contact with extremely hot lava? Will the layers of laminated glass still be able to resist the high temperature and keep the glass intact? Will it be able to save you in case youâre cornered in a volcano and have to use the bulletproof glass to protect yourself from the hot lava? (Okay fine, the last one is purely hypothetical but you can never be too sure). Thanks to the YouTube channel Superkot, you can finally have all the answers to the questions we just made up above.
The video demonstrates the effects of hot lava on different types of glass materials as it comes into contact with them. These include regular glass, car glass, fireproof glass and of course bulletproof glass. While regular and car glass didnât stand a chance against the hot lava, fireproof and bulletproof glass were able to resist the high temperatures and not shatter completely. Itâs a very satisfying experiment and also declares a clear winner in the lava vs bulletproof battle.

It's not really an education value in seeing so-called lava be poured onto glass. Apart from learning exactly what that looks like in slow motion, anyone with half a brain could've anticipated what the outcome would be.
