Janmashtami At My Home

Janmashtami holds a special place in my heart and my experience of Janmashtami brings back nostalgic memories. I used to eagerly watch the reenactment of Krishna's birth and immerse myself in movies, plays, and discussions about his life with my sisters. Janmashtami includes various rituals, but personally, my favourite thing to do was to decorate the whole place and also dress like a Krishna idol. We used to set aside money from our allowance to honour Lord Krishna's birthday. In a way, it was a lot of fun. I yearn for those younger years.In school also teachers used to ask us to write a paragraph on Janmashtami celebration.

My sister and brother assisted with the decorations. We celebrated modestly last year inside our mandir due to the circumstances brought on by the pandemic's onset. My mother made delicious desserts at home. Every day, for a week, several television programmes about Lord Krishna were shown. Janmashtami is celebrated to mark the birthday of Krishna. It is celebrated in the Hindu month of Shravan.

How is Janmashtami Celebrated

Janmashtami is celebrated with great joy all over India. In Krishna temples, special puja is done to Krishna. Some temples have the idol of the child Krishna in a cradle, and people can swing the cradle with the help of a rope tied to it.

In homes, people decorate their houses and puja mandaps and worship Krishna in various forms. Special food that is loved by Krishna is prepared and offered to him and then distributed as Prasad. People fast on Janmashtami day.

Krishna’s Story

Krishna was the eighth child born to Vasudev and Devaki who were the King and Queen of Mathura. Kamsa, the maternal uncle of Krishna had imprisoned his sister Devaki and her husband Vasudev. He believed that their eighth child would be the reason for his death.

But Krishna was a divine child. When he was born, many miracles happened. The guards who stood at the prison fell asleep. The river Yamuna parted to give way to Vasudev who carried the just born baby Krishna. He left the baby at the house of Nand and Yashoda in Gokul and returned to the prison in Mathura.

Krishna grew up happily in the midst of cows and cowherds. He played with his friends and loved butter, milk, curds, and other dairy products. He was a very mischievous child and played many pranks and was always stealing butter along with his friends.

The young boy Krishna also did many miracles, killing many demons sent by Kamsa to kill him. After he grew up, Krishna went to Mathura and killed Kamsa. He released his parents and grandfather from prison.

Krishna was a friend of the Pandavas in the great epic Mahabharata and helped them in many ways. During the Kurukshetra war, he was the charioteer of Arjuna. He guided them at every step so that the Pandavas were able to defeat the Kauravas.

Krishna built his kingdom known as Dwarka and ruled from there.

Krishna is the avatar of Lord Vishnu and came on earth to destroy evil. He killed many demons and evil men including Kamsa, Sisupala, and Dantakvakra.

श्री कृष्ण के जन्म दिवस के रूप में हर वर्ष भाद्रपद माह के कृष्ण पक्ष को कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी हर्षोल्लास के साथ मनाया जाता है। यह त्योहार हिंदु धर्म के परंपरा को दर्शाता है व सनातन धर्म का बहुत बड़ा त्योहार है, अतः भारत से दूर अन्य देशों में बसे भारतीय भी इस त्योहार को धूम-धाम से मनाते हैं।

जन्माष्टमी क्यों मनाया जाता है

श्री कृष्ण को सनातन धर्म से संबंधित लोग अपने ईष्ट के रूप में पूजते है। इस वजह से उनके जीवन से जुड़ी अनेकों प्रसिद्ध घटनाओं को याद करते हुए उनके जन्म दिवस के अवसर को उत्सव के रूप में मनाते हैं।

विश्वभर में कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी की धूम

यह पूरे भारत में मानाया जाता है। इसके अलावा बांग्लादेश के ढांकेश्वर मंदिर, कराची, पाकिस्तान के श्री स्वामी नारायण मंदिर, नेपाल, अमेरिका, इंडोनेशिया, समेत अन्य कई देशों में एस्कॉन मंदिर के माध्यम से विभिन्न तरह से मनाया जाता है। बांग्लादेश में यह राष्ट्रीय उत्सव के रूप में मनाया जाता है, तथा इस दिवस पर राष्ट्रीय छुट्टी दी जाती है।

वैसे तो जन्माष्टमी का त्योहार विश्व भर (जहां सनातन धर्म बसा हुआ है) में मनाया जाता है, पर मथुरा और वृदावन में प्रमुख रूप से मनाया जाता है। यहां कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी के अवसर पर रासलीला का आयोजन किया जाता है। देश-विदेश से लोग इस रासलीला के सुंदर अनुभव का आनंद उठाने आते हैं।

अत्यधिक शक्तिशाली होने के उपरांत (बाद) भी, वह सामान्य जनों के मध्य सामान्य व्यवहार करते, मटके तोड़ देना, चोरी कर माखन खाना, ग्वालो के साथ खेलना जीवन के विभिन्न पहलुओं के हर भूमिका को उन्होनें आनंद के साथ जीया है।
श्री कृष्ण को प्रेम का प्रतीक माना जाता है। सूफी संतों के दोहों में राधा तथा अन्य गोपियों के साथ कृष्ण के प्रेम व वियोग लीला का बहुत संदुर चित्रण प्राप्त होता है।
कंस के वध के बाद कृष्ण द्वारकाधीश बने, द्वारका के पद पर रहते हुए वह महाभारत के युद्ध में अर्जुन के सारथी बने तथा गीता का उपदेश देकर अर्जुन को जीवन के कर्तव्यों का महत्व बताया और युद्ध में विजय दिलाया।

Porsche-driving Indian teenager who killed two people ordered to write essay

A n Indian court granted bail to a drink-driving teenager who rammed his Porsche into a motorbike and killed two people, on the condition that he “write an essay” about the incident.

The court also told the 17-year-old boy from Pune in the western state of Maharashtra to undergo treatment for his drinking habit, take counselling sessions and work with the local police for 15 days.

The teenager, who has not been named, is the son of a prominent real estate magnate, and the perceived leniency shown by the judge has sparked outrage in the country .

The accident occurred at around 3.15am in Kalyani Nagar in Pune on Sunday.

A group of friends was returning home on motorbikes after a party at a local restaurant. When they reached the Kalyani Nagar junction, one of their motorcycles was hit by the teenager’s Porsche, police say, causing its two riders to fall and die instantly.

After hitting the riders, the teenager crashed his car into some railings, police say.

A video that has been widely shared on social media shows a group of passersby attacking the driver as he tries to exit the vehicle.

The deceased were identified as software engineers Anis Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, both 25.

A case was registered against the driver at a local police station and he was charged with rash driving, causing death by rash or negligent act not amounting to culpable homicide and endangering life or personal safety of a person.

The accused is reportedly four months shy of 18, the minimum legal age to drive a car in India .

He was reportedly out celebrating his Class 12 exam results.

He was driving at 200 kmh when he collided with the motorcycle.

The boy’s lawyer, Prashant Patil said: “The juvenile accused who was arrested by Pune Police has been granted bail by the Juvenile Justice Board on certain conditions, including that the accused should work with the traffic police of Yerawada for 15 days, accused should write an essay on accident, should get treatment from the concerned doctor to help him quit drinking and should take psychiatric counselling and submit the report.”

Police said they will appeal the bail order and treat the accused as an adult.

“We will not leave any stone unturned to prove that this is a heinous crime,” Pune’s police chief, Amitesh Kumar, told India Today .

Police have also arrested the boy’s father and owners of the two bars that allegedly served him alcohol.

The legal drinking age in Maharashtra is 25.

“We’re in shock,” Jugal Kishor Koshta, an uncle of one of the victims, told NDTV. “It’s condemnable that he should get bail in 15 hours. He and his parents should be investigated. We will discuss the matter once Ashwini’s last rites are over tomorrow.”

“We want his bail cancelled and he should remain in police custody. Because of him, an innocent girl, who has seen nothing of life, died," Sachin Bokde, another uncle of the victim, said.

Sanjay Raut, a prominent member of the opposition party Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, accused Pune police of serving pizza and burgers to the accused teenager after the crash, India Today reported.

“Police commissioner should be suspended. He tried to protect the accused. A young couple was killed and the accused was granted bail within two hours,” he told the ANI news agency.

“In the video, it can be seen that he was drunk, but his medical report was negative. Who is helping the accused? Who is this police commissioner? He should be removed or the people of Pune will come on the streets.”
