Why nios tma assignment is important.

The learner should take up Tutor Marked Assignments (TMAs) seriously. In Secondary/Sr. Secondary Examination 20% weightage of theory would be given to Internal Assessment. The public examination would cover remaining 80% of weightage of theory. The result of those learners, who do not submit their Assignments, would be declared on the basis of Public Examination. There is only one Assignment in each subject. You should submit the assignments response sheets on time/before last date.

What is NIOS TMA Format?

The Format of TMA is Total Marks 20, Questions 1, 2 and 3, comprise of short answer questions. Each question has two choices of which you have to attempt only one i.e. 2+2+2= 6 marks. Questions 1, 2 and 3 will thus cover 6 marks. Question number 4 and 5 are long answer questions of 4 marks each. You have to answer only one question out of the two given. Thus, questions 4 and 5 are for 8 marks (4+4=8). Question no. 6 gives you two projects of which you have to attempt only one. This question will be for 6 marks. The guidelines for each project work are given along with the topic set.

Where To Submit NIOS TMA?

You have to submit TMA to the subject teacher at your Study Centre (AI), or regional centre (if AI centre not functioning) at given date. If last date so specified happens to be a public holiday/Saturday/Sunday, the next working day will automatically be treated as last date for the purpose.

Yes, TMA is an important part of ‘continuous and comprehensive evaluation’ and hence it is advised to treat it ‘compulsory’ as a learning exercise. However, a candidate may be allowed to appear in the external examination even if he/she could not submit the TMA in a subject. The learner shall be awarded ‘zero’ mark for ‘TMA’ part of internal assessment.

No, the TMA is only applicable for the learners admitted under Stream-I of NIOS. It is not applicable for admissions under Streams-II, III and IV On-demand exam.

The TMA will help learners to ensure their progress and revision in studies.

Step by Step Instructions to Prepare IGNOU Assignment

Point-1: Use only foolscap size paper or A4 size paper to write your assignments. Do not use thin paper.

Point-2: Leave at least one or a few lines after completing your one answer so that the evaluator writes a useful comment on blank areas.

Point-3: We recommend using ruled paper instead of blank paper to write your assignment because it is also advised by the IGNOU Officials.

Point-4: Candidates can use a Black or Blue pen to write their assignments for any TEE session.

Point-5: Candidates are not allowed to use the Red pen or other colour pen.

Point-6: Better handwriting also benefits for best marking in your assignment work.

Point-7: Candidates have to write their assignments with their hand which means only handwritten assignments are accepted by IGNOU.

Point-8: Do not print or type your assignments with the help of a computer which is not allowed.

Point-9: They cannot copy their answer from any units/blocks given by the university. If you copied any answer then you will get zero marks for that copied question.

Point-10: Candidates have to write an assignment solution with their own help, if you copied any assignments from other students then your assignment will be rejected by the centre.

Point-11: Prepare or write each course assignment separately. Do not write all assignments in one set.

Point-12: Write each question before writing an answer so you don’t need to attach a question paper while submitting the assignment.

Point-13: After finishing the work of assignment writing, use a paper file and arrange all your assignments in a proper manner. ( Note: Plastic files will not be accepted by the university in any circumstances).

Point-14: Candidate must send their complete assignments to the coordinator of the allotted study centre. You cannot send it to any other IGNOU centre like Regional Centre, Evaluation Division, and Registration for evaluation.
