Jaggaer RMM Chemical Inventory

JAGGAER Research Material Management (RMM) is an integrated inventory system for managing the whole chemical lifecycle. With multiple departments and schools at UC, this inventory system helps us manage hazardous substances, from sourcing to receipt, tracking, storage, use, and disposal. With multiple departments and schools over the University of Canterbury, JAGGAER RMM inventory system is integrated with UniMarket procurement system. This aids in effective management of hazardous substances, from sourcing to receipt, tracking, storage, use and disposal. This harmonised system helps maintain health and safety standards, regulatory compliance, minimise environmental risks and assist in a more effective emergency response.

September 2023: General Litium-Ion battery safety

Li-ion batteries are commonly used in various devices like laptops, smartphones, electric vehicles, and more. At UNSW, safety with these batteries is crucial. This alert offers simple guidelines for safe Li-ion battery use, from purchase to disposal.

May 2023: Electrical shock incidents

In the last two weeks of May, UNSW has seen two electric shock events where staff and students were working around live electrical circuits. Work with electrical equipment needs to be highly controlled and managed appropriately. 

SALUS: Hazards vs. Tasks

UNSW's safety management system, SALUS, allows you to report and manage hazards at work. But it can sometimes be tricky to tell the difference between a 'hazard' and a 'hazardous task'.

To get access to the CRLS ordering website, you will need to be entered into the RMM system.

To request to be entered into the system, send an email request to [email protected] . Your request email should contain the following information:

• Your name, phone number, preferred email, and UNM netid
• The index code(s) you will use when placing orders
• The lab location(s) you will be purchasing for

You will receive an email from the system ([email protected]) with a temporary password.

There are 2 ways to get access, directly to RMM (Research Materials Management ) or through the Lobomart punchout. 

RMM Direct Access:  RMM

RMM Access through LoboMart:    LoboMart

Department Purchase Requisitioner This gives users the access to create purchase requisitions and P-Card transactions in LoboMart. Department LoboMart Shopper ; This role gives users the access to create shopping carts in LoboMart and assign them to a person in the department with the Department Purchase Requisitioner role for submission.

Users will determine the appropriate role needed with their immediate supervisor based on individual department needs. If you have never submitted a Banner Authorization Request (BAR) you may be required to take the EOD online course Securing Private Data. Training requirements specific to each role can be found next to the role description on the BAR website as well.

Walk–ins welcome: Monday – Friday 8:00AM to 12:00 PM & 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with JAGGAER, the leader in autonomous commerce.

JAGGAER Research Materials Management (RMM) is a vital resource for researchers, used to acquire and manage commercial reagents and lab supplies needed for their work.

JAGGAER RMM is used by more than half of the top 20 global pharmaceutical organisations in their research operation in North America, Europe and Asia. More recently, RMM has established a strong presence with leading research universities and with growing and emerging life science and biotech companies worldwide.

The CiteAb search will be integrated into JAGGAER RMM so more researchers will be able to find products that work for their experiments (in CiteAb) and then buy them easily and efficiently (through RMM). Ultimately, this combined capacity will help reduce waste, improve efficiency and save cost for researchers.

The partnership for researchers

By combining the benefits of the CiteAb search with JAGGAER’s purchasing and regulatory compliance expertise, this partnership aims to provide an end-to-end solution for researchers using JAGGAER.

RMM enables researchers with one-search access to all available internal and external catalogue and inventory items with supporting details to enable pricing and availability comparisons. RMM combines this access with full-life cycle tracking and reporting capabilities, with compliance integrated throughout the life cycle, to manage research spend, achieve consistent compliance, and save time and costs. Furthermore, RMM-CiteAb sessions will be entirely anonymous, ensuring that researcher and organisation activity can’t be tracked or monetised. 

Ultimately, by using this solution to select and purchase the right reagents, researchers can have more certainty that their experiments will work. This translates into significant cost and time savings in the short term, and more reproducible results in the long term.

For suppliers who list on CiteAb, this is a great opportunity to check if your product listings are up to date in order to maximise exposure of your products to the thousands of scientists who use RMM every day. For those who don’t, it’s a perfect time to get listed with us as even more researchers are going to be introduced to our platform.

The CiteAb-RMM integration is part of JAGGAER’s new RMM Bioreagents module, available now for production use beginning in 3Q 2022. Researchers who already use JAGGAER RMM will have trial access to the beta version of the CiteAb integration beginning 1st August.

Vista equity partners acquires jaggaer.

Procurement software developer Jaggaer gets a new owner

Private equity firm vista equity partners acquired jaggaer to become owners of its software applications for streamlining supply chain management tasks..

Jaggaer, one of the largest and most established application developers and service providers for procurement management systems, has a new owner.

The company rebranded from SciQuest to Jaggaer in 2017. It is a provider of cloud-based business automation technology for business spend management (and procurement). Private equity firm Vista Equity Partners has acquired Jaggaer.

How Vista became Jaggaer’s new owner

Vista acquired Jaggaer from Cinven Ltd., a London private equity fund, for an undisclosed price.

In May, Reuters reported that Cinven was seeking a deal valued at $3 billion including debt to sell Jaggaer. In addition, Reuters reported that Jaggaer generates annual revenue of about $300 million.

Jaggaer’s software applications streamline supply chain management tasks, including procurement, sourcing, supplier management e-procurement and punchout.

Who Jaggaer works with

To date, the company has been in business for more than 35 years and boasts:

• A network of 13 million suppliers
• 1,400 customers
• 4 million users
• 8,000 product catalogs
• 3 million contracts
• 4 million sourcing events

In procurement, a sourcing event is the vendor-facing part of a sourcing project. It enables a sourcing agent to establish bidding dates and times. It also allows agents to compile all information vendors will need to respond.

Supply Chain Management Inefficiencies Threaten Organizations’ Competitive Advantage, New JAGGAER Research Reveals

Ninety-three percent of IT teams report that modernizing and digitalizing their supply chain and procurement tech stacks is a priority

As C-suites turn to supply chain management and procurement teams to help navigate today’s highly disruptive and volatile business landscape, 75% of organizations worldwide have increased or maintained their procurement and supply chain technology budgets, according to a new global research survey released today by JAGGAER . These investments, however, aren’t going far enough: Over 40% of procurement teams state manual and inefficient processes hold them back from fully addressing the C-suite’s critical business priorities.

“Procurement and supply chain professionals are emerging as enterprise linchpins. C-suites are increasingly leaning on the function’s expertise and tools to advance key objectives, such as business continuity, responsible business practices, profitable growth, and competitive advantage. Our research shows that despite the strategic role procurement and supply chain teams play, these professionals remain underequipped, which presents a huge risk to organizations,” said Andy Hovancik, Chief Executive Officer at JAGGAER.

Fifty-three percent of procurement and supply chain managers and directors say that workload issues and inefficiencies are the top risks facing their organizations. Equipped with the right technology and more time, managers and directors state that they would be able to grow the business and drive competitive advantage (51%), increase profitability and lower costs (43%), improve internal efficiency (40%), and strengthen supplier relationships (31%).

JAGGAER’s research – Rising Influence: The State of Procurement in 2024 – is based on insights from more than 220 business leaders. The research explores the rising strategic role of procurement and supply chain management and what these professionals need to be successful. Key findings include:

• Supply chain tech stack modernization is a priority, according to 93% of IT teams. Thirty-eight percent of IT teams report they’ve decreased spending on function-specific technology. The fact supply chain and procurement technology budgets are growing is a testament to the value of the function.
• Procurement states that automation and AI would most transform the way they work when it comes to spend analytics for better decision-making (58%), RFP creation and evaluation (38%), PO management (35%), and invoice approvals for payment (31%).
• Generative AI offers workload relief. Procurement and supply chain professionals anticipate that generative AI will be most useful for helping them summarize supplier performance, identify new suppliers, and automate routine tasks such as writing emails.
• Financial pressure remains red hot. Despite the improved economic outlook, half of procurement and finance professionals report that inflation, recession risk, and monetary policy changes are having a major or severe impact on their business. Procurement is playing a key role in fighting back by cutting indirect expenses (49%), consolidating spend (48%), and re-negotiating supplier contracts (44%).

Digital Transformation is an Enterprise Priority, But Progress Lags

While organizations are aiming to modernize their technology infrastructure, JAGGAER’s research uncovered that only a small percentage of procurement and supply chain teams are close to fully automated. Many organizations lack automation in strategic areas such as supplier negotiations (58%), sourcing (44%), contract management (38%), and supplier identification and selection (37%).

Procurement teams report that increasing automation and AI would add value in several areas, including helping them identify the best places to reduce costs across the business (60%), be more efficient by handling routine tasks (56%), find alternative suppliers with better prices and quality (45%), work more collaboratively with suppliers (28%), and attract and retain talent by transforming digitally (11%).

“The faster the C-suite invests in automation and AI to equip their procurement and supply chain teams to drive results in strategic areas, the faster the business will be able to hit its critical objectives and preserve its competitive edge,” said Dawn Andre, Chief Product Officer at JAGGAER.
