சிங்க் திரைப்படம்: இயக்குநராக வேண்டும் என்ற ஆசையில் இருக்கும் கிஷன் தாஸ், ஒரு தயாரிப்பாளரை சந்தித்து கதை சொல்கிறார். ஆனால், கதை தயாரிப்பாளருக்கு பிடிக்காததால், இந்த வாய்ப்பும் கை நழுவிப்போகிறது. இதனால், மிகுந்த மன அழுத்தத்தில் இருக்கிறார். இதைத் தெரிந்து கொண்ட கிஷன் தாஸின் காதலி அவரின் மன அழுத்தத்தை போக்க நண்பர்களுடன் சேர்ந்து பாண்டிச்சேரிக்கு ட்ரிப் போக பிளான் போடுகிறார்.

எதிர்பாராத விபத்து: அனைவரும் பாண்டிச்சேரிக்கு சென்று கொண்டிருந்த போது, எதிர்பாராத விதமாக ஏற்பட்ட விபத்தில் பெண் ஒருவர் மீது கார் மோதி விடுகிறது. அந்த விபத்தை மறைக்க போலீசுக்கு பணம் கொடுத்து, இந்த விபத்தை மறைத்துவிட்டு நண்பர்கள் நான்கு பேரும், அங்கிருந்து தப்பித்து வந்து விடுகிறார்கள்.

படத்தின் கதை: பின் நான்கு பேரும் வீடியோ காலில் இணைந்து பேசும் போது, விபத்தில் சிக்கிய அந்த பெண் இறந்து போன விஷயம் தெரியவர அனைவரும் பதற்றம் அடைகின்றனர். அதே நேரம் அனைவர் வீட்டிலும் அமானுஷ்ய சம்பவங்கள் நடக்கிறது. இதற்கு காரணம் என்ன? இந்த பிரச்சினையில் இருந்து அனைவரும் மீண்டார்களா? என்பதே இப்படத்தின் ஒன் லைன் கதை.

கிளைமாக்ஸில் செம ட்விஸ்ட்: விஜய்சேபதி நடித்த பீட்சா திரைப்படம் போல கதையை விறுவிறுப்பாக கொண்டு சென்று இறுதியில் செம ட்விஸ்டுடன் கதையை முடித்தது எதிர்பாராத ட்விஸ்டாக இருந்தது. ஒன்றரை மணி நேரம் மட்டுமே ஓடக்கூடிய இந்த படத்தில், கிஷன் தாஸ், மோனிகா சின்னகோட்லா, சௌந்தர்யா நந்தகுமார், நவீன் ஜார்ஜ் தாமஸ் ஆகிய நான்கு பேருமே சிறப்பான நடிப்பை வெளிப்படுத்தி உள்ளனர்.

Sync Movie Review: A promising screen-life horror let down by an age-old plot

The COVID-19 pandemic, and the consequential rise in the use of video call apps for communication have contributed to the increase in horror and thriller films using such apps as the medium. While the concept was established early on in 2014 with Unfriended , films like Host , Searching and Missing have tried and tested the screen life genre. In Tamil cinema too, the 2022 film Connect , intertwines horror with computer screen technicalities. Joining this list is Vikas Anand Sridharan’s debut feature Sync, which  unfortunately,   does not really bring anything new to the table.

The Aha original film Sync revolves around 4 friends who are perpetrators of a hit-and-run case that ends up killing a woman. Out of panic and fear, they all get on a ‘Sync’ call to discuss how matters are to be handled, only for the video call to be haunted by the spirit of the victim. 

Just under 90 minutes, the run time is the biggest blessing for a film like Sync,  which is burdened by a sense of predictability, and takes a cliched route to keep the ‘surprise’ element in sync with stereotypes. 

The one way Sync does stand out is perhaps its execution in terms of filming, and editing. In an interview with CE, Kishen revealed that the actors were asked to perform their parts separately, looking at a blank computer screen, as the crew read out the actions performed by their co-actors. In fact, this particular aspect of the execution is what made the film slightly more engrossing. And in that sense, Kishen Das, Monica Chinnakotla, Soundarya Bala and Naveen George are all brilliant as they showcase realistic emotions that are in sync with the film’s theme and sentiment. 

The eerie aspects of the film were perfectly balanced. Sync doesn’t indulge in shabby upside-down-walking- disfigured-white-clothes- wearing-ghost kind of horror elements. At the same time, it does not also aim high with its jump scares either. While it might be fear-inducing for the uninitiated, the horror parts may come out as underwhelming for fans of the genre. 

Through the course of the film, the friends keep saying to each other, “Guys, if this is a prank, please stop.” The film, which hits quite the crescendo pre-climax, seems like a prank played on the audience with an anti-climactic twist. Written typically with short film elements in mind, the climax lets down its audience. There is a lot of room left to be explored when it comes to computer screen horror. Yet Vikas Anand chooses the room that is possessed by the ‘truistic’ ghost.

Sync review: Convincing performances from lead actors make this a passable horror thriller

What begins as a story of friendship that involves a little quarrel, ego clashes and a tinge of romance, turns out to be a decent horror thriller

Story: Four friends from Chennai go on a trip to Pondicherry. Their car crashes into another vehicle, leaving a girl injured. The panicked friends sort out the issue amicably and discuss the same the next day through a video call. Their conversation then veers into their personal lives and the equation among themselves. They slowly realize after some time that their lives are turning topsy-turvy, thanks to the presence of evil spirits in their respective homes. A slew of unexpected things happen, leaving the four of them shattered. What are they going to do to rescue themselves?     

Review: Vikas Anand Sridharan's Sync begins with Gautham (Kishen Das), an aspiring filmmaker, ranting about a missed opportunity to display his talent to his girlfriend Netra (Monica Chinnakotla). The latter consoles him and they go on a short trip to Pondicherry along with their friends Sibi (Naveen George) and Madhu (Soundarya Bala).

Their trip ends on a bitter note after their car rams into another vehicle, but they sort out the issue smartly. The four of them meet on a video call the next day to unleash their mixed emotions. Little did they know that evil spirits are going to wreak havoc on their respective lives in just a matter of time.

The movie with a duration of less than 90 mins manages to keep the audience hooked to an extent, thanks to its interesting screenplay and riveting performances. The characters of the four lead actors are interestingly designed and appear convincing throughout the film. 

What begins as a story of friendship that involves a little quarrel, ego clashes and a tinge of romance, turns out to be a decent horror thriller with organically designed sequences that are convincing. The manner in which some of the characters manage to create impact without their appearance or small appearance is a testimony to its engaging writing.

Shivram's cinematography is compelling enough to hold the audience's interest while Manu Kathiresan's editing style is impressive and suits the movie's screenplay structure. Abhijith Ramaswami's music is neat.

On the downside, the film suffers from predictability after the horror elements are introduced. The biggest twist doesn't come as a surprise as we have come across similar surprises in a few movies in the past. The tail end, too, doesn't offer any innovative experience. What could have been a terrific attempt fizzles out towards the third act. Nevertheless, the film is a passable entertainer for those who do not mind experiencing horror stories with partly engaging twists.    

Verdict: Sync is a sincere attempt aided by dedicated performances from lead actors. The predictability factor mars its prospects of becoming a taut horror thriller.

Kishen Das on How He Promoted His Horror Film Sync with Just Rs 1500

On July 21, when his horror film Sync was released on Aha Tamil, actor Kishen Das, the film’s protagonist, not only became the first reviewer to review the film, pointing out how several scenes could’ve been done better, but also went ahead and helped people watch the film. “If you haven’t subscribed to Aha Tamil yet or are unable to, please DM me and I can help you watch the film,” Das wrote on Twitter. Directed by debutant Vikas Anand Sridharan, Sync is an independent on-screen thriller, similar to Host (2020) and Connect (2022) , and unfolds as a situational horror as four friends connect over a video call.

Did the actor send his log-in credentials to those who messaged him? Even if so, was the move profitable in any way for the platform or the makers? Das begins laughing as I ask him about this unique promotional strategy. “I can’t give everyone access to my account. It’ll also not be fair to Aha.” We can all agree on that. The actor looked at it as a promotional activity he could execute within a budget. “I created around 10-15 profiles on the platform when my film was released. Among the many replies, I might have texted back close to 50-60 people. I shared these accounts with a few of them and I Gpay-ed subscription money to a few others. I wanted people to watch the film.” 

The actor believes that word of mouth is the simple and sure-shot way for a low-budget film to reach many audiences. “If people see the film, they’ll spread the word. The subscription fee is Rs 100 for three months. So, with the 15-odd accounts I created, we can say that I spent Rs 1500 on promotions. It is nowhere close to people who spend lakhs on promoting their films. I am doing whatever I can with the money I can afford to spend.” The actor has also been sharing both positive and negative reviews about the film on his Twitter handle. Das says, “A lot of effort goes into making a film, and negative reviews are still okay as long as many people watch the film. My motive is to tell people that such a film was released.”

However, this is not the first time the actor has used social media to help the film. Earlier in April, the actor sought help on Twitter to release an independent film, urging his followers and friends to help with some leads. Sync happens to be that independent film and that Tweet helped them sign the deal with Aha Tamil. “Aha contacted us within 3 hours. We shared the film and they also got back immediately with an offer. We also reached out to different platforms. They liked the content but some of them wanted us to first release the film in theatres. However, that wasn’t possible with our budget. Likewise, the film’s runtime (87 minutes) was also very less so the theatrical release didn’t seem like a wise choice. A few of them weren’t too happy with the tight run time as well,” the actor tells us. 

Twitter was not their first attempt to reach out to OTT platforms. In fact, it was their last resort. “We finished shooting the film in June 2022 and the post-production went on for another six months. While the film was ready for release in January, we had no idea how to ensure it reached the masses.” A few self-proclaimed brokers promised to connect them with streaming agents, but that turned out to be a dead end.. “That’s when I told the makers that someone from Twitter might be able to help us out.” It is challenging to contact OTT platforms, the actor confesses. “We were unable to move to the next step. If they were a little more accessible, it'd be easier for independent filmmakers and people like me.”

This Twitter exercise also helped Das understand the importance of networking and the business side of cinema. “With a mostly fresh crew, I realised at one point that I needed to step up and somehow try to release the film. I also learnt the value of having contacts in the industry. When small films are launched or represented by a big celebrity, the film gets an identity. Nooru pera poi serura oru vishayam, latcham pera poi sendhudchuna, nalladhudhaana? (Isn’t it nice when a film that has the ability to reach just 100 people, reaches a lakh more instead?)”

Despite Sync ’s budget constraints and experimental form, Das didn’t look at the film as a risky outing. “I don’t think I’m in a position to see decisions as risks yet. I am only one-film old. The only fear I had was whether I would be able to pull off the role. It is only now that I have started feeling the fear of responsibility, especially when someone invests their money (in my work) and trusts me.”

Das, who started out his career as an influencer, is still very much active in the content creation space, even if he is busy shooting for films. “When I act in films, my contribution is only in terms of acting. But when I do a podcast or a reel, I also get to satisfy my other creative sides. That is important to me. I am at a stage where acting alone doesn’t suffice me creatively and monetarily.” Besides, social media has helped him build a loyal audience. “If someone sees me in a film, they’ll say, “Indha reels panra payan da.” That has helped me.

தயாரிப்பு - சண்முகம் கிரியேஷன்ஸ், சீட்ஸ் என்டர்டெயின்மென்ட் இயக்கம் - சாச்சி இசை - ஜோன்ஸ் ரூபர்ட் நடிப்பு - சதீஷ், அஜய்ராஜ், பாவல் நவகீதன் வெளியான தேதி - 27 செப்டம்பர் 2024 நேரம் - 2 மணி நேரம் 4 நிமிடம் ரேட்டிங் - 2.75/5 ஒரே இடத்தில், ஒரே இரவில் நடக்கும் சில பல கதைகள் வந்ததுண்டு. இந்தப் படத்தில் அது ஒரே காவல் நிலையத்தில் நடக்கிறது. இயக்குனர் சாச்சி தன் கதையையும், திரைக்கதையையும் நம்பி இந்தப் படத்தைக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார். மலையாளப் படங்களில் சொல்லப்படும் க்ரைம் திரில்லர் படங்களைப் போல இந்தப் படத்தை தரமாகவே ரசிக்க வைத்திருக்கிறார். ஏற்காடு செல்ல இரவு நேரத்தில், ஏதோ ஒரு பதட்டத்தில் காரை ஓட்டிக் கொண்டு செல்கிறார் சதீஷ். வழியில் குறுக்கே பைக்கில் வந்த ஒருவர் மீது எதிர்பாராத விதமாக மோத அவர் இறந்து போகிறார். அந்த பிணத்தை தனது கார் டிக்கியில் வைத்துக் கொண்டு தொடர்ந்து பயணிக்கிறார். வழியில் போலீஸ் சோதனை செய்ய, குடித்து விட்டு காரை ஓட்டினேன் என்று சொல்லியதோடு, உதவி சப் இன்ஸ்பெக்டரான பாவல் நவகீதனையும், சதீஷ் அடித்து விட ஏற்காடு காவல் நிலையத்திற்கு அழைத்துச் செல்லப்படுகிறார். தன்னை அடித்த சதீஷை ஏதோ ஒரு வழக்கில் சிக்க வைக்கத் துடிக்கிறார் பாவல் நவகீதன். இதனிடையே ஒரு பெண் கொலை செய்யப்பட்ட வழக்கை விசாரிக்க ஆரம்பிக்கிறார் இன்ஸ்பெக்டர் அஜய் ராஜ். அதோடு, காணாமல் போன ஒருவரைப் பற்றிய வழக்கும் சேர்ந்து கொள்கிறது. ஒரு விபத்து, ஒரு கொலை, காணாமல் போன ஒருவர் என இந்த வழக்குகள் எப்படி முடிவுக்கு வருகிறது என்பதுதான் படத்தின் மீதிக் கதை.

ஒரு அப்பாவித் தோற்றம், அதிகம் உணர்ச்சிவசப்பட்டால் பேச முடியாமல் திக்குவது என ஒரு யதார்த்த கதாபாத்திரத்தில் முதல் முறையாக தன்னை சரியாகப் பொருத்திக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார் சதீஷ். நகைச்சுவைக் கதாபாத்திரங்களில் அவர் நடிக்கும் போது அவரது நடிப்பில் ஒரு நாடகத்தன்மை இருக்கும். அது இந்தப் படத்தில் சுத்தமாக இல்லை. படத்தில் அவரது கதாபாத்திரம் மீதான சஸ்பென்ஸ் கடைசி வரை நீடிக்கிறது. அவர் பற்றிய உண்மை தெரியவரும்போது நமக்கும் எதிர்பாராத அதிர்ச்சியைக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார் இயக்குனர். வேலை செய்யும் இடங்களில் உள்ள 'போட்டி' அனைத்துவிதமான பணிகளிலும் உண்டு. அதற்கு காவல் நிலையமும் விதிவிலக்கல்ல. சப் இன்ஸ்பெக்டர் அஜய் ராஜ், உதவி சப் இன்ஸ்பெக்டர் பாவல் நவகீதன் இடையிலான போட்டி, அந்த சீனியர், ஜுனியர் பதவி வித்தியாசத்தை சரியாக வெளிப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறது. வேறு எந்த நடிகர்களாவது அவர்களது கதாபாத்திரங்களில் நடித்திருந்தால் அதில் ஒரு சினிமாத்தனம் தெரியும். ஆனால், அஜய், பாவல் இருவரும் நடித்திருக்கும் விதம் அந்தக் கதாபாத்திரங்களின் உண்மைத் தன்மைக்கு மிக அருகில் உள்ளது. சில காட்சிகளில் வந்தாலும் அனுதாபத்தைப் பெற்றுவிடுகிறார் ரித்திகா. காவலர்கள் ஈவி ராமதாஸ், பவா செல்லத்துரை, கேபிஒய் சதீஷ் கிடைத்த சில காட்சிகளில் நிறைவாய் நடித்திருக்கிறார்கள். ஓர் இரவில் மட்டுமே நடக்கும் கதை, அதிலும் காவல் நிலையக் காட்சிகள்தான் அதிகம், த்ரில்லர் கதை வேறு, கோணங்களிலும், லைட்டிங்குகளிலும் அதற்குரிய பரபரப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியிருக்கிறார் ஒளிப்பதிவாளர் பிஜி முத்தையா. த்ரில்லர் படங்களுக்கேயுரிய பின்னணி இசையைகொடுத்திருக்கிறார் ஜோன்ஸ் ரூபர்ட். சஸ்பென்ஸ் த்ரில்லர் திரைக்கதைகளில் இரண்டு வகை உண்டு. படத்தின் ஆரம்பத்திலேயே பார்வையாளர்களுக்கு மட்டும் சஸ்பென்ஸ் என்ன என்பதை சொல்லிவிடுவது, மற்றொன்று கடைசியில் கிளைமாக்ஸ் வரையிலும் அந்த சஸ்பென்ஸை பார்வையாளர்களுக்கு சொல்லாமல் இருப்பது. இப்படத்தை மேலே சொன்ன இரண்டாவது விதத்தில் திரைக்கதை அமைத்திருக்கிறார்கள். அது ஒரு பக்கம் பலம் என்றாலும் படத்துடன் ஒன்றி ரசிப்பதில் ஒரு தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தாமல் போகிறது. சட்டம் என் கையில் - தாமதமான நீதி

எதிர்ப்பாராமல் நடந்த ஒரு விபத்தினால் வரும் பிரச்னைகளை மையப்படுத்திய கதை

சதீஷ் அவரது சொந்த ஊருக்கு மது போதையில் காரை ஓட்டிக் கொண்டு செல்கிறார். அப்படி மலை பகுதியில் சென்றுக் கொண்டு இருக்கும் பொழுது எதிர்பாராத விதமாக பைக்கில் வந்த ஒருவனை இடித்து விடுகிறார். பைக்கில் வந்தவர் சம்பவ இடத்திலேயே இறந்துப் போகிறார். எங்கு தன் மீது பழி வந்துவிடும் என இறந்த நபரை காரின் டிக்கியில் ஏற்றிக்கொள்கிறார்.

அடுத்ததாக வரும் சாலையில் காவல்துறையினர் ரோந்து பணியில் வாகன சோதனையில் ஈடுப்பட்டு வருகின்றனர். சதீஷின் காரை வழி மறித்து நிறுத்த சொல்கின்றனர். எங்கு கார் பின்னாடி இறந்த நபர் இருப்பதை கண்டு பிடித்துவிடுவார்களோ என காவல் அதிகாரியிடம் சண்டைப்போட்டு ஒருக்கட்டத்தில் அவரை அடித்து விடுகிறார். இந்த கோவத்தில் வண்டியை பரிசோதிக்காமல் சதீஷை அடித்து காவல் நிலையத்திற்கு அழைத்துச் செல்கின்றனர்.

மறுப்பக்கம் அதே பகுதியில் ஒரு பெண் மர்மமான முறையில் பல வெட்டுகளுடன் கொலை செய்யப்படுகிறார். காவல் நிலையத்தில் இறந்த பெண் மற்றும் விபத்தில் சிக்கிய நபரின் தகவல்கள் ஒவ்வொன்றாக வருகிறது. அங்கு இருக்கும் காவல் அதிகாரி சதீஷை எப்படியாவது இந்த பெண் கொலை வழக்கில் குற்றவாலியாக ஆகிவிடவேண்டும் என நினைக்கிறார். இதனால் சதீஷ் பதட்டம் அடைகிறார்.

எப்படி சதீஷ் இந்த சூழலில் இருந்து வெளியே வருவார்? கொலை செய்யப்பட்ட பெண் யார்? விபத்தில் சிக்கி உயிரிழந்த நபர் யார்? சதீஷ் எப்படி தப்பிப்பார்? என்பதே படத்தின் மீதிக்கதை.

நகைச்சுவை டிராக்கை விட்டு விலகி இந்த மாதிரியான புதிய முயற்சிகளை செய்யும் நடிகர் சதீஷூக்கு பாராட்டுக்கள். சதீஷ் அவர் செய்த கொலையை மறைக்கும் காட்சிகளில் சிறப்பான நடிப்பை வெளிப்படுத்தியுள்ளார்.

பாவெல் நவகீதன் மற்றும் அஜய் ராஜ் இருவரின் நடிப்பு இந்த படத்தின் கதாப்பாத்திரத்தை உணர்ந்து நடித்துள்ளனர்.

ஒரு நாள் இரவு நடக்கும் ஒரு கிரைம் திரில்லர் அடிப்படையில் படத்தை இயக்கியுள்ளார் இயக்குனர் சாசி. எந்த கதாப்பாத்திரம் சொல்வதை நம்புவது. யார் இங்கு சரியாக இருப்பார் என்ற குழப்பமான மனநிலையிலயே பார்வையாளர்களை படத்தின் காட்சியாகவும் , திரைக்கதையாகவும் விறுவிறுப்பாக கொண்டு சென்றுள்ளார்.

ஜோன்ஸ் ரூபர்டின் பின்னணி இசை காட்சியமைப்பில் பெரிது உதவி இருக்கிறது.

ஒளிப்பதிவாளர் பி.ஜி முத்தையா மிக சவாலான ஒரு முயற்சியை சிறப்பாக கையாண்டிருக்கிறார் என்றுதான் சொல்லவேண்டும். மைப்பிரதேசத்தை காட்சிபடுத்திய விதமும் பனி சூழ்ந்த இரவை காட்சிபடுத்தியிருக்கும் விதமும் கதைக்கு ஏற்ற ஒரு சூழலை ஏற்படுத்தி தருகின்றன.

சட்டம் என் கையில்: குற்றமும் அதன் நிமித்தமும் - திரைப் பார்வை

முதன்மைக் கதாபாத்திரம் நல்ல மனிதனா, அல்லது சந்தர்ப்பவாதத்தைப் பயன்படுத்திக்கொள்ளும் எதிர்மறைக் குணம் கொண்டவனா என்கிற சட்டகத்துடன் பல படங்கள் வந்திருக்கின்றன. இப்படம் அந்த வரிசையில் இடம்பெற்றாலும் நாயகன் எப்படிப்பட்டவன் என்பதை முதலில் சொல்லாமல், அவனது புத்திசாலித்தனமான நகர்வுகளுக்குப் பின்னர் அவனைப் பற்றிச் சொல்லும் திரைக்கதையுடன் வந்திருக்கிறது ‘சட்டம் என் கையில்’.

சிவகார்த்திகேயன் நடித்த ‘எதிர் நீச்சல்’ தொடங்கி மாஸ் ஹீரோக்கள் பலரின் நண்பனாக வந்து குணச் சித்திர, நகைச்சுவை நடிகராகப் புகழ்பெற்ற சதீஷ், ‘நாய் சேகர்’ படத்தின் மூலம் கதாநாயகனாக நடிக்கத் தொடங்கினார். சட்டத்தின் கண்களைத் தன் புத்திசாலித்தனத்தால் மறைத்து பகடையாட்டம் ஆடும் கதாபாத்திரத்தில் அவரைப் பொருத்தியிருக்கிறார் ‘சிக்ஸர்’ படத்தின் மூலம் இயக்குநராக அறிமுகமான சாச்சி. இது சதீஷுக்குப் பொருந்தினாலும், மற்றொரு முக்கியக் கதாபாத்திரம் பற்றியும் பின்னால் சொல்லப்படும் விஷயங்கள், அக்கதாபாத்திரம் கொலையாகும் தருணத்தில் கொடுத்திருக்க வேண்டிய தாக்கத்தைக் கொடுக்கத் தவறி விடுகிறது.

ஏற்காடு மலைப் பகுதியில் ஒரு நாள் இரவில் நடந்து முடியும் கதை. வாடகைக் கார் ஓட்டுநரான சதீஷ், தனது காரில் எதிர்பாராமல் வந்து மோதி நிகழ்விடத்திலேயே இறந்துபோகும் ஒருவரின் சடலத்தை மறைக்க, அதைத் தனது காரின் டிக்கியில் வைத்துக்கொண்டு புறப்படுகிறார். அதே இரவில் ஒரு பெண் கொலையான தகவல் ஏற்காடு காவல் நிலையத்துக்கு வருகிறது.

இந்தச் சிக்கலான சூழ்நிலையில் அந்தக் காவல் நிலையத்தில், சக காவல் அதிகாரியான அஜய் ராஜுடன் அதிகாரப் போட்டியில் ஈடுபடும் காவல் ஆய்வாளர் பாவெல்லிடம் வேறொரு விதி மீறலுக்காக மாட்டுகிறார் சதீஷ். பெண் கொலையான வழக்கை விசாரிக்கிறார் அஜய் ராஜ். இந்த இருவருக்கிடையில் மாட்டும் சதீஷ் யார்? காவல் நிலையத்திலிருந்து அவரால் வெளியே வர முடிந்ததா? கொலையான பெண் யார்? அவரது கொலையின் பின்னணி என்ன என்பதை நோக்கி விறுவிறுவென நகர்கிறது படம்

உடனடியாகக் கதையைத் தொடங்கியதும் சதீஷின் காய் நகர்த்தல்களும் ரசிக்கும்படி இருக்கின்றன. சதீஷைப் பகடையாக வைத்து பாவெல்லும் அஜய் ராஜும் ஆடும் ஆட்டம், ஒரு குற்ற த்ரில்லர் திரைக்கதை உருவாக்கும் அழுத்தத்தைச் சீராக்கும் அதிகார மைய நகைச்சுவையாக எடுபடுகிறது. இந்த இருவரது நடிப்பும் குற்ற நாடகத்தின் திரை அனுபவத்தை மேம் படுத்தியிருக்கின்றன. சதீஷ் தனது கதாபாத்தி ரத்தின் திரிசங்கு நிலையை நன்கு உணர்ந்து நடித்திருக்கிறார்.

கதை நிகழும் ஏற்காட்டின் பனி படர்ந்த இரவை, மிக இணக்கமாகக் காட்சிப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறார் ஒளிப்பதிவாளர் பி.ஜி. முத்தையா. படத்தின் ஒலி வடி வமைப்பில் கதைக் களத்தை உணரவைத்திருக்கிறார்கள் அருண் ஏ.கே. ராஜா நல்லையா இருவரும். எம்.எஸ்.ஜோன்ஸ் இசையிலும் பழுதில்லை. கதாநாயகி தேவைப்படாமலேயே ஒரு த்ரில்லர் குற்றக்கதையை விறுவிறுப்பாக நகர்த்திக் காட்டியிருப்பதற்காகவே இந்தப் படத்தைப் பார்க்கலாம்.
