• It also facilitates inter-cultural understanding when students are given certain projects which require the study of other cultures of the world. It also enhances students’ literacy skills mainly through email messaging with their peers from other schools or even other countries.
• The Internet also inculcates social values and norms as the Internet itself is regulated by Norms which are known as Protocols. Learning these protocols and how to follow them gives an understanding of the rule-based society in which they live. This teaches them to treat others with respect and decency.
• The internet also contributes to students’ broader understanding of information and communication technologies and its centrality to the information economy and society as a whole.
• Career planning is another major benefit of the Internet as one can search for information on courses, prospects etc. of his or her desired field of interest. It gives an insight beforehand about his choice.
• Online transactions for banking, shopping, bill payments etc.by university students aid them in learning new and easy ways of doing their chores. It also enhances time management.

Why is the Internet a Bane?

• One of the most common problems of the Internet is its addiction. Some type of internet addiction is affecting a large number of the population. A small but growing number of Internet users are starting to visit their doctors for help with unhealthy attachments to cyberspace. Such individuals have s strong drive to compulsively use the Internet to check e-mail, make blog entries or visit Web sites or chat rooms. And it can lead to significant problems on the personal and professional levels. Internet addiction might include an extreme fondness for pornography, online gambling and some non-essential Internet activities.
• Most of the teenagers spend every free moment on the computer. They play games on the net, chat online, instant message or just surf. Most of the time these activities are not productive. School work starts to suffer and the end result is the poor grade.
• Excess usage of the Internet is Unhealthy both for the mind and the body. Lack of concentration, loss of interest in other physical activities etc. result in a weak body and mind which might fall prey to various health problems.
• Teenagers might indulge in illegal Internet activities like downloading illegal software hacking other Internet users computers or even company systems, to spreading viruses. Out of curiosity or for having fun, some skilled kids might fall in the wrong company and may start doing what they think is harmless or simply mischievous, indulge in hacking or other activities that might put them at risk of violating the laws
• Risky chatting in chat rooms dedicated to teenagers another problem area. Paedophiles often frequent chat rooms where they know children and teens will spend much of their time. A real-life meeting with such might lead to abduction, rape, torture or even murder
• Past studies have shown a change in social trend where teenagers are rejecting real relationships and friendships for cyber relationships. This can have several unforeseen implications.
• The Internet has increasingly become a way to escape problems or relieve negative mood, which is not a good solution. Traditional methods of dealing with such problems are a proper, effective and reliable way.
• Though the Internet is a treasure of information but not all of it is beneficial for the betterment of the society. Some information like a step-by-step tutorial on how to make a pipe bomb can lead to serious consequences both for the culprit and the public.
• The Internet also exposes children to inaccurate information from unreliable sites and confuses students by exposing them to the conworld of Advertisers who have one aim and that is to sell their products. This leads to misinterpretation of facts and unwise judgements. Not everything on the Internet is accurate or legit.
• Pornography and other adult material are easily available on the internet. Downloading and viewing these can become addictive and corrupts the senses. Seeking physical pleasure then becomes a primary nature at a time when the focus should be on creative activities essential for personality development. A world of unhealthy behaviour is purported by porn stuff which can be witnessed by the growing number of AIDS patients.

Conclusion : The answer to 'Whether the Internet is Boon or Bane is Debatable' and just like all the other advancements in technology, we have to accept the two sides of the same coin. The Internet can and will be used for good or bad. The extent to which it is will be used and abused is upon us. Using the Internet is the norm for today’s youth and it cannot be abolished. Rather there is a need to approach a middle path wherein awareness towards its harmful effects and its productive potential is publicized in a constructive manner on a wide platform.

विज्ञान क्या है

आज का युग विज्ञान का युग है आदि काल से लेकर अब तक मनुष्य ने जितनी भी प्रगति की है वह सब विज्ञान की ही देन है। यह हम सब भली भांति जानते हैं कि- ” आवश्यकता ही आविष्कार की जननी है”  और जैसे-जैसे मनुष्य की आवश्यकताएं बढ़ती जा रही है ,‌ वह नए-नए आविष्कार करता जा रहा है और आगे भी करता जाएगा। प्राचीन काल में असंभव समझे जाने वाले तथ्यों, कार्यों को विज्ञान ने आज संभव कर दिखाया है । छोटी-सी सुई से लेकर आकाश की दूरी नापते हवाई जहाज तक सभी विज्ञान की ही देन हैं । आगे चलकर कई ऐसे आविष्कार भी होने हैं जिन पर हो सकता है अभी हम को विश्वास ही ना हो , विज्ञान ने वास्तव में, हमें बहुत कुछ दिया है , जिसके हम सदा ऋणी रहेंगे।   Top  

  विज्ञान दो शब्दों से मिलकर बना है – वि+ज्ञान । वि का अर्थ है विशेष और ज्ञान का अर्थ है जानना। इस  प्रकार किसी विशेष को जानना ही विज्ञान हैं। दूसरे शब्दो में कहे तो विशिष्ट प्रकार का ज्ञान ही विज्ञान हैं। विज्ञान ने आज हमारे जीवन को बदल कर रख दिया है , मनुष्य जीवन को बहुत ही सुविधाजनक बना दिया है। अतः यह कहना अतिशयोक्ति नहीं होगा कि विज्ञान किसी वरदान से कम नहीं ।   आज इंसान ने बैलगाड़ी से लेकर अंतरिक्ष तक की यात्रा का सफर तय कर लिया है। विज्ञान से मानव को असीमित शक्ति प्राप्त हुई है। आज मनुष्य विज्ञान की सहायता से पक्षियों की भांति आसमान में उड़ सकता है। गहरे से गहरे पानी में सांस ले सकता है। पर्वतों को लांघ सकता हैं तथा कई मीलों की दूरियों को चंद घंटो में पार कर सकता है।   Top  

 विज्ञान के बढ़ते कदम

विज्ञान की वजह से मनुष्य का जीवन बहुत आरामदायक हो गया है । इसमें हमारे समय की भी बचत की है।  

• घर में – विज्ञान की सहायता से हमारा घरेलू जीवन भी सुखमय हो गया है। आज घरों में हीटर, रेफ्रिजरेटर टेलीविजन, रेडियो,  टेप रिकॉर्डर टेलीफोन, स्कूटर आदि वस्तुएं आ गई है। गृहणियों के अनेक कार्य आज विज्ञान की सहायता से मिनटों में हो जाते हैं।
•   यातायात के क्षेत्र में-  दो पहिए की गाड़ी से शुरू हुआ सफर अंतरिक्ष तक पहुंच गया है । हमने कई महीनों के सफर को मिनटों में तय कर लिया है। विज्ञान के आविष्कार का प्रत्यक्ष उदाहरण हमारे सामने है बुलेट ट्रेन। हवाई जहाज के माध्यम से हम मीलों का सफर मिनटों में तय कर लेते हैं । चाहे कश्मीर से कन्याकुमारी तक का सफर ही क्यों ना हो । विज्ञान ने इसे सहज और सरल बना दिया है। आज विज्ञान ने जल, थल, आकाश तीनों की दूरियों को माप लिया है। जल में बड़े-बड़े जहाज, थल पर बुलेट ट्रेन और हवा में हवाई जहाज ‌,‌‌ हेलीकॉप्टर ने मीलों की दूरियों को समेट दिया है। 
•   संचार के क्षेत्र में – संचार के क्षेत्र में विज्ञान ने तेजी से प्रगति की है। 1GB से शुरू हुआ यह सफर 5gb तक पहुंच चुका है। इंटरनेट प्रकाश की गति से पंख लगाकर उड़ने को तत्पर है। इंटरनेट की स्पीड आज इतनी है जिसकी कभी कल्पना भी नहीं की थी। वीडियो कॉल,‌ वर्चुअल कॉल विज्ञान की वजह से संभव हुआ हैं।
•   शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में – शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में विज्ञान ने कई आविष्कार किए हैं । आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस,‌ रोबोट के आ जाने से स्कूलों में पढ़ाने के तरीकों में बदलाव आया है । विजुअल तकनीक के माध्यम से आज कठिन विषयों को भी आसानी से पढ़ाया जा रहा हैं। 
•   मनोरंजन के क्षेत्र में – मनोरंजन के क्षेत्र में विज्ञान ने अपना बहुत महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया है। मनोरंजन करना इंसान की स्वाभाविक प्रकृति होती है। विज्ञान की तरक्की के साथ मनोरंजन के साधनों में भी प्रगति हुई है। चलचित्र, वीडियो, दूरदर्शन, खेल आदि सभी मनोरंजन के आधुनिक और वैज्ञानिक साधन हैं
• चिकित्सा के क्षेत्र में – चिकित्सा के क्षेत्र में तो विज्ञान ने आश्चर्यजनक चमत्कार किए हैं । आज दुर्लभ से दुर्लभ बीमारी का इलाज भी विज्ञान ने ढूंढ निकाला है, आज चिकित्सा बहुत आसान हो गई है। एक्स रे मशीन की सहायता से शरीर के अंदर के भागों का रहस्य जाना जा सकता है । शरीर के किसी भी भाग का ऑपरेशन किया जाना संभव है ।  लेजर के आविष्कार से बिना चीरफाड़ के ऑपरेशन किए जा रहे हैं । अंग प्रत्यारोपण की सुविधा आज विज्ञान की वजह से संभव हो पाई है । रक्तदान, प्लास्टिक सर्जरी जैसे दुर्लभ कार्य आज विज्ञान की वजह से संभव है। स्मार्टफोन पर बैठे ही अपना इलाज करवा कर, दवाइयों की होम डिलीवरी भी करवा सकते हैं । इसने  समय और पैसे दोनों की बचत की है।
• विद्युत – विज्ञान ने मनुष्य को भाप, खनिज, तेल, कोयला, व बिजली को असीमित शक्ति के रूप में प्रदान किया है। बिजली के आविष्कारों ने चारों तरफ चकाचौंध कर दिया है। बिजली एक तरफ तो हमें शक्ति देती है तो दूसरी तरफ रौशनी देकर रात को दिन की तरह बना देती है। आज के समय में बिजली ने मनुष्य का बहुत कल्याण किया है।
•   कंप्यूटर के क्षेत्र में – आज हर कोई कंप्यूटर चलाना और उस पर काम करना जानता है । ऐसा कोई क्षेत्र नहीं रहा जो कंप्यूटर से अछूता हो । विज्ञान का सबसे बड़ा आविष्कार तो  स्मार्टफोन है जो आज हर आम आदमी की पहुंच में है । जिसकी वजह से घर बैठे आप शिक्षा प्राप्त कर सकते हैं, जो चाहे सीख सकते हैं,‌ घर बैठे बिजनेस शुरू कर सकते हैं या दुनिया भर की जानकारी प्राप्त कर सकते हैं,  यह ऐसा अद्भुत चमत्कार है जिसने असंभव को भी संभव बना दिया है।‌ कंप्यूटर में भी दिन प्रतिदिन कई तकनीकों के आ जाने से हमारा काम और भी तेजी से कम समय में सुविधा पूर्वक हो जाता है।
•   अंतरिक्ष के क्षेत्र में – अब अंतरिक्ष कोई अनजान विषय नहीं रहा । धीरे-धीरे विज्ञान की मदद से अंतरिक्ष के रहस्यों से पर्दा उठ रहा है । विज्ञान के माध्यम से आज अंतरिक्ष के सारे रहस्यों को वैज्ञानिक सुलझा रहे हैं । भारत का मंगलयान, चंद्रयान जैसे मिशन अंतरिक्ष की तरफ बढ़ते इंसानों के कदमों की पदचाप है।
•   सुरक्षा के क्षेत्र में – आज ड्रोन, सीसीटीवी‌‌ कैमरे,‌ पासवर्ड , वर्चुअल ताले आ जाने से सुरक्षा के क्षेत्र में कई सारे बदलाव हुए हैं ।
• कृषि के क्षेत्र में -नवीन वैज्ञानिक आविष्कार ने कृषि उत्पादन में वृद्धि की है साथ ही साथ कार्यों को आसान बना दिया है।  ट्रैक्टर और नवीनतम आधुनिक उपकरणों के आ जाने से खेती और भी सरल और सहज हो गई है।

विज्ञान से हानि 

विज्ञान ने यदि हमारे जीवन को सर्व सुलभ बनाया है तो वहीं कई सारी समस्याएं भी उत्पन्न की है।   दुर्लभ बीमारियां – 

• आजकल इतनी दुर्लभ तरीके की बीमारियां उत्पन्न हो रही हैं जिनका पहले कभी नामोनिशान नहीं था। कोरोनावायरस इसका प्रत्यक्ष उदाहरण है, पहले इस तरह का कोई वायरस नहीं था।
• खेतों में हानिकारक रसायनिक पदार्थों के छिड़काव से उत्पादन तो बढ़ रहा है लेकिन फसल में वह पोषक तत्व और वह शुद्धता नहीं रही और इस वजह से कई बीमारियां उत्पन्न हो रही है।

ग्लोबल वार्मिंग – 

• वृक्षों की अंधाधुंध कटाई से, बढ़ते औद्योगिकीकरण से,‌ वातावरण में बहुत ही तेजी से परिवर्तन हो रहे हैं । ग्लेशियर पिघल रहे हैं, ग्लोबल वार्मिंग बढ़ रही है।
• जल स्त्रोतों की कमी हो रही है और तो और वृक्षों की कमी से प्राणवायु ऑक्सीजन में भी कमी आ रही है।
•  पर्यावरण प्रदूषण के बढ़ते स्तर के कारण अनेक प्रकार की बीमारियां उत्पन्न हुई है ।
• तकनीक पर अत्यधिक निर्भरता के कारण भी कई संकट उत्पन्न हुआ है। यदि आज के समय में इंटरनेट बंद हो जाए तो कई करोड़ों लोग बेरोजगार हो जाएंगे क्योंकि हमने खुद को विज्ञान पर इतना अधिक निर्भर कर लिया है कि अब इसके बिना हमारी अर्थव्यवस्था नहीं चल सकती।

तकनीक पर अत्यधिक निर्भरता  

• विज्ञान ने जहां एक ओर कई सुविधाएं दी हैं तो कई समस्याएं भी पैदा की हैं । तकनीक ने जहां कई कार्यों को आसान बनाया है, वही हमें आलसी भी बना दिया है। आज हर छोटे से छोटे काम के लिए हम तकनीक पर निर्भर हो गए हैं। चाहे घर में खाना बनाना हो, कपड़े धोना हो या मनोरंजन ,‌हर चीज के लिए हमें तकनीक की आवश्यकता होती है ।

मोबाइल एडिक्शन

• कोरोना काल में हम सभी घर पर बंद हो गए थे और इस वजह से छोटे बच्चे से लेकर बुजुर्ग तक का स्क्रीन टाइम काफी बढ़ गया था । इस वजह से बच्चे मोबाइल स्क्रीन के आदी हो चुके हैं । जिस वजह से वह बचपन से ही उनके आंखों पर चश्मा लग गया है और मोबाइल एडिक्शन के कारण चिड़चिड़ापन, अत्यधिक क्रोध आना ,भूख ना लगना ध्यान केंद्रित ना हो पाना जैसी कई समस्याएं पैदा हुए हैं।
• इन सब की वजह से आज मनुष्य खुद की बनाई तकनीकों की वजह से परेशान हो रहा है।

इस प्रकार हम देखते हैं कि जिस प्रकार हर सिक्के के 2 पहलू होते हैं उसी प्रकार विज्ञान के भी दो पहलू हैं    एक सकारात्मक पक्ष जिससे हमने बहुत कुछ अर्जित किया है तो वही नकारात्मक पक्ष जहां हमने बहुत कुछ खोया है।   अंग्रेजी में कहावत है कि –    “साइंस इज ए गुड सर्वेंट बट अ बेड मास्टर”  अर्थात  साइंस विज्ञान एक अच्छा नौकर तो है किंतु एक बुरा मालिक है ।   यदि हमने विज्ञान का सही तरीके से इस्तेमाल किया तो यह हमारे भविष्य में भी लाभदायक होगा। किंतु यदि हमने तकनीक को खुद के ऊपर हावी होने दिया तो वह दिन दूर नहीं जब हम इसके पूरी तरह गुलाम बन जाएंगे।    विज्ञान ने एक ओर मनुष्य को जहाँ अपार सुविधाएँ प्रदान की हैं वहीं दूसरी ओर दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण यह है कि नाभिकीय यंत्रों आदि के विध्वंशकारी आविष्कारों ने संपूर्ण मानवजाति को विनाश के कगार पर लाकर खड़ा कर दिया है । वास्तविक रूप में यदि हम विज्ञान से होने वाले लाभ और हानियों का अवलोकन करें तो हम देखते हैं कि विज्ञान का सदुपयोग व दुरुपयोग मनुष्य के हाथ में है । यह मनुष्य पर निर्भर करता है कि वह इसे किस रूप में लेता है । उदाहरण के तौर पर यदि नाभिकीय ऊर्जा का सही दिशा में उपयोग किया जाए तो यह मनुष्य को ऊर्जा प्रदान करता है जिसे विद्‌युत उत्पादन जैसे उपभोगों में लिया जा सकता है । परंतु दूसरी ओर यदि इसका गलत उपयोग हो तो यह अत्यंत विनाशकारी हो सकता है । द्‌वितीय विश्व युद्‌ध के समय जापान के हिरोशिमा एवं नागासाकी शहरों में परमाणु बम द्‌वारा हुई विनाश-लीला इसका ज्वलंत उदाहरण है । विश्व आज अनेक खेमों में बँट गया है । इसके अतिरिक्त स्वयं को अधिक शक्तिशाली बनाने के लिए (हाइड्रोजन बमों एवं परमाणु बमों की खोज ने) हथियारों की होड़-सी लग गई है । जिसने संपूर्ण मानव सभ्यता को विनाश के कगार पर लाकर खड़ा कर दिया है । बेरोजगारी व निर्धनता दिन-प्रतिदन बढ़ रही है। लोगों का गाँवों से शहरों की ओर पलायन जारी है, जिससे महानगरों एवं शहरों की जनसंख्या अत्यधिक बढ़ गई है ।    इस प्रकार विज्ञान का दुरुपयोग संपूर्ण मानव सभ्यता के लिए अभिशाप सिद्‌ध हो रहा है ।‌ विज्ञान का समुचित उपयोग न करने का ही यह परिणाम है कि आज दुनिया की आबादी बेतहाशा बढ़ रही है । आबादी रोकने के जितने भी साधन विज्ञान ने उपलब्ध कराए हैं वे सभी निर्विवाद रूप से कारगर हैं पर अविकसित देशों द्‌वारा इन साधनों को न अपनाने के फलस्वरूप ऐसे देश कई प्रकार की समस्याओं से घिर गए हैं ।   विज्ञान की मदद से बड़े पैमाने पर रोजगार उपलब्ध हो सकता है लेकिन कई देशों में अपने संसाधनों का इस्तेमाल न कर पाने की समस्या है । विज्ञान ने बृहत् पैमाने पर शिक्षा देने के साधनों की उपलब्धता सुनिश्चित कर दी है फिर भी कई देशों में भारी तादाद में अनपढ़ लोग हैं । वैज्ञानिक कृषि अपनाए जाने पर दुनिया से भुखमरी और कुपोषण की समस्या समाप्त हो सकती है, बावजूद इसके लोग खाद्‌यान्नों के बिना संकटग्रस्त दशा में हैं । अत: कहा जा सकता है कि वे अभिशाप जो विज्ञान के कारण उत्पन्न समझे जाते हैं वास्तव में मानव सृजित हैं ।   हम सभी का यह कर्तव्य है कि हम विज्ञान की अद्‌भुत देन का रचनात्मक कार्यों में ही प्रयोग करें । विज्ञान के दुरुपयोग के विरुद्‌ध अभियान छेड़ा जाना चाहिए । विश्व के समस्त देशों को विश्व शांति का प्रयास करना चाहिए तथा हथियारों की जो होड़ बढ़ती जा रही है उसका विरोध एवं उस पर अंकुश लगाना चाहिए ।   Top

विज्ञान : वरदान या अभिशाप पर निबन्ध | Essay on Science : A Boon or Bane in Hindi!

विज्ञान का अर्थ है किसी विषय का विशेष और व्यवस्थित (Specific and System) ज्ञान । विशेष ज्ञान के बल पर ही विशेष कार्य किये जाते हैं । तरह-तरह के आविष्कार तथा खोज (Inventions and Discoveries) विज्ञान के ही परिणाम (Result) हैं ।

विज्ञान की दी हुई चीजों का उपयोग हम सुबह से लेकर नींद आने तक लगातार करते रहते हैं । यहाँ तक कि नींद आने के बाद भी विज्ञान हमें लाभ पहुँचाता रहता है । आज विज्ञान के बिना मनुष्य का जीवन सभ्य (Civilised) नहीं कहा जा सकता ।

2. विज्ञान से लाभ:

विज्ञान ने हमारे जीवन को कितना सुखी बना दिया है, यह कहने की आवश्यकता नहीं है । कपड़े-बुनने के कल-कारखाने अधिक अनाज उगाने के लिए हैकर तथा अन्य मशीनें, मकान बनाने के नये नये उपाय तथा औजार (Tools), ये सब विज्ञान ने हमारे लिए बनाये हैं ।

किसी समय लोग अकाल (Famine) से मरने को मजबूर थे किन्तु आज किसी के भूख से मरने की खबर शायद ही कभी मिलती हो । आज शरीर ढँकने के लिए कपड़े सबके पास है । किसी समय बड़ी संख्या में हैजा (Cholera) प्लेग आदि बीमारियों से लोगों की मौत हो जाती थी ।

आज ये सब रोग विज्ञान के नियंत्रण (Control) में हैं । इन रोगों का आसानी से इलाज किया जा सकता है । इतना ही नहीं, विज्ञान ने हमारी दैनिक सुख सुवि धा की छोटी-छोटी चीजों के अलावा शिक्षा, सूचना, सम्पर्क (Contact) यात्रा (Travel) तथा शत्रुओं (Enemies) से रक्षा के अनेक उपाय और साधन (Ways and Means) हमें दिये हैं ।

सूई से लेकर कार, ट्रेन, विमान तथा अन्तरिक्ष यान (Space Shuttle) और कृत्रिम उपग्रह (Artificial Satellites) तक विज्ञान के हाथों बन चुके हैं जिनका उपयोग हम प्रत्यक्ष या परोक्ष (Direct or Indirect) रूप से जरूर करते हैं ।

विज्ञान से जहाँ मनुष्य के इतने लाभ (Benefit) हुए हैं और जीवन सभ्य (Civilised) तथा सहज (Easy) बन गया है, वहीं बन्दूक, बम, मिसाइल जहरीली गैसें आदि बनाकर मनुष्य को भारी नुकसान पहुँचाया है और भविष्य (Future) के प्रति भय भीत कर दिया है । आज पूरा संसार एटम बम के भय से काँप रहा है । प्रदूषण (Pollution) भी बढ़ा है और वायुमण्डल (Atmosphere) के ओजोनमंडल को भी नुकसान हुआ है ।

4. उपसंहार:

अत: विज्ञान एक तरफ मनुष्य के लिए वरदान (Boon) है तो अत ओर अभिशाप (Bane or Curse) भी । यह हम पर निर्भर करता है (Depends on us) कि हम विज्ञान का प्रयोग करें ।

क्या आप बिजली, टेलीविजन, पंखे, मोबाइल, फ्रिज इत्यादि के बिना जीवन की कल्पना कर सकते है? बिना किसी परिवहन के साधन के मीलों की यात्रा करना पहले आसान नहीं हुआ करता था। लोग अपने करीबियों, रिश्तेदारों, दोस्तों या अन्य किसी के साथ बात नहीं कर पाते थे, क्योंकि उन दिनों पत्र भेजने के आलावा हमारे पास कोई अन्य विकल्प नहीं था। यह केवल विज्ञान के कारण ही संभव हो सका है, जिसने विज्ञान के विशाल प्रौद्योगिकियों के साथ हमारे जीवन को बहुत ही सरल बना दिया है। विज्ञान ने जहां तकनीकियों और प्रौद्योगिकियों से हमारे जीवन को सरल और सुगम बनाया है वही विज्ञान मानव जीवन के विनाश का कारण भी है।

मैंने इस निबंध के माध्यम से विज्ञान के सभी पहलुओं पर चर्चा करने की कोशिश की है जो ये साबित करेगा की विज्ञान अगर वरदान है तो अभिशाप भी है। यह निबंध सभी छात्रों को निबंध लिखने, प्रोजेक्ट बनाने इत्यादि में अवश्य सहायक सिद्ध होगी।

विज्ञान वरदान है या अभिशाप पर लघु निबंध – 400 शब्द

विज्ञान एक ऐसा विषय है जिसका सीमा तथा क्षेत्र दिनो-दिन बढ़ता जा रहा है। प्राकृतिक तथा किसी वस्तु या प्राणी का क्रमवद्ध ज्ञान, विज्ञान कहलाता है। हम सभी जानते हैं, पानी का उबलना एक प्राकृतिक घटना है, पर पानी सदैव 100 डिग्री पर उबलता है तथा 0 डिग्री पर जमता है यह विज्ञान है।

विज्ञान के अविष्कार जो पृथ्वी के लिए वरदान हैं तो अभिशाप भी हैं

• रॉकेट बम मिसाइल – विज्ञान की देन रॉकेट बम मिसाइल तथा परमाणु शक्ति हैं, जो हमारे मुसीबत में तो काम आते हैं पर इनकी बढ़ती संख्या विश्व के लिए संकट है। आतंकवाद इसके माध्यम से ससक्त होता है, साथ ही परमाणु शक्ति भी विश्व भर में खतरे का संकेत हैं। यह अत्यधिक खतरनाक शक्तियां है। 6 अगस्त 1945 की सुबह अमेरीकी वायु सेना ने जापान के शहर हिरोशिमा पर “लिटिल बॉय” परमाणु बम गिराया तथा इसके तीन दिन बाद नागासाकी पर “फैट मैन” परमाणु बम गिराया। जिसका दुष्परिणाम आज भी वहां देखा जा सकता है। परमाणु शक्ति से विश्व परिचित है इसलिए यह प्रावधान है कि, पाँच देशों के अनुमति के बिना, यह किसी भी देश द्वारा उपयोग में नहीं लाया जा सकता है।
• बड़े बड़े कारखाने – विज्ञान के मदद से, विश्व विकास के उच्च आयाम को प्राप्त कर चुँका है पर विश्व में विज्ञान के माध्यम से प्रदुषण भी उतनी ही तेजी से बढ़ रहा है। कारखानों से निकता गैस, हवा को दुषित करता है। जीवाश्म ईंधन के निरंतर जलने से यह पर्यावरण पर अपना अनुचित प्रभाव छोड़ रहा है। जिसके वजह से ठण्ड के समय में दक्षिण एशिया पर इसका प्रभाव हम साफ तौर पर देख सकते हैं, जहां अनुमानित समय से कई अधिक समय तक, दूर-दूर तक धुंध फैला होता है।
• यंत्र व उपकरण – हमारा काम आसान करने के लिए विज्ञान ने उपहार के रूप में हमें, यंत्र व उपकरण तो दिया है। जिसके वजह से यह कई लोगों का काम अकेला और कम समय में कर सकता है। पर इसके परिणाम स्वरूप बड़ी-बड़ी उद्योग कम्पनीयां 100 लोगों के स्थान पर एक मशीन का ही उपयोग कर रही हैं। जिससे रोजगार बहुत ज्यादा प्रभावित हुआ है और बेरोजगारी बढ़ी है।
• कार, फ्रिज आदि – विज्ञान के सराहनीय अविष्कार जो हमारे दैनिक जीवन को सरल बनाते हैं जैसे कार, मोटर सायकिल, फ्रिज आदि इनसें निकलने वाले हानिकारक गैस हमारे स्वास्थ्य पर गहरा असर डालते हैं, तथा यह वातावरण के लिए भी श्राप हैं।

विज्ञान के चमत्कार से हमें अनेकों लाभ हैं। यह हमारे जीवन को आसान बनाने के साथ-साथ आरामदायक भी बनाता है। पर जिस प्रकार हर सिक्के के दो पहलु होते हैं, उसी प्रकार विज्ञान के भी लाभ तथा हानि दोनों ही व्यक्ति और पर्यावरण को प्राभवित करते हैं।

प्राचीन समय में मनुष्य एक खानाबदोश की तरह जीवन व्यतीत करता था, जब की आज वो एक सभ्य नागरिक में परिवर्तित हो गया है। यह सब केवल विज्ञान के उपयोग से ही संभव हो सका हैं। हमारे जीवन की हर घटना में विज्ञान शामिल है। हमारे दिनचर्या के सभी कार्यों से लेकर उपग्रह और अंतरिक्ष प्रौद्योगिकियों के अविष्कार तक विज्ञान की बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका है। अविष्कारों के विकासों से पहले का जीवन बहुत ही कठिन था। विकास में हुए कमी के कारण जीवन के हर काम में समय लगता था। बुद्धिमानों के दिमाग ने इन आवश्यकताओं को सुविधाओं में बदल दिया और इसे ही हम विज्ञान के नाम से जानते है।

विज्ञान एक अविरल जिज्ञासा है

हर दिन हमारे दिमाग में अलग-अलग सोच और विचार आते हैं। इन विचारों को अविष्कार में बदलने के लिए केवल एक चिंगारी की आवश्यकता होती है। विज्ञान का मूल अर्थ है जिज्ञासा का पालन करना। यह हमारे आस-पास घट रही विभिन्न घटनाओं को जानने के बारे में होती है। हमारे विचारों को खोज में परिवर्तित करने को ही विज्ञान कहा जाता है, जो हमारे विचारों और जिज्ञासाओं का उत्तर देती है।

जिज्ञासा और नई खोज हमें एक नई तकनीकी विकास की ओर ले जाती हैं, जिन्होंने हमारे जीवन को और भी आसान और सुविधाजनक बना दिया है। विज्ञान ने हमारे जीवन की कई बड़ी जटिलताओं को आसान बना दिया है। विज्ञान प्रकृति और उनमें होने वाली घटनाओं, मौसम में विविधता और जलवायु परिस्थितियों और अंतरिक्ष में होने वाली गतिविधियां, इत्यादि सभी में मौजूद है। हमारे मन में उठाने वाले प्रत्येक सवालों का जबाब केवल विज्ञान के द्वारा ही संभव हो सकता है।

कंप्यूटर – विज्ञान का एक महान योगदान

इस वैज्ञानिक युग को कंप्यूटर युग के रूप में भी जाना जाता है, और कंप्यूटर विज्ञान के लिए बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण है। चिकित्सा, कृषि, औद्योगिक क्षेत्र, शिक्षण, अनुसंधान, और विकास के हर क्षेत्र ने कंप्यूटर बहुत ही आवश्यक बन गया हैं। हम कंप्यूटर का उपयोग करके हम सभी संदेहों को दूर कर सकते हैं। यह केवल इस उपकरण के उपयोग के कारण ही संभव हो सका है, जिसने दुनिया को संचार के माध्यम से जोड़ा है और दुनिया में हो रही सभी घटनाओं की जानकारी को हम तक पहुंचाया है।

मोबाइल फोन और स्मार्ट कंप्यूटर को आजकल हर किसी के हाथों में देखा जा सकता है। तकनीकी प्रगति में विकास करके मोबाइल फोन का निर्माण किया गया है। ये बहुत ही उपयोगी हैं और इन्हें आसानी से दूसरी जगह ले जाया जा सकता है। इसके द्वारा किए गए अधिकतर कार्य जैसे – ब्राउज़िंग, मेल, सन्देश भेजना जैसे कई कार्यों को बहुत ही आसानी के साथ सेकंडों में किया जा सकता हैं। यह विज्ञान और विज्ञान के दृष्टिकोण के बिना संभव नहीं हो सकता है।

प्रौद्योगिकी के रूप में विज्ञान के लाभ

1. हमारे जीवन स्तर में सुधार

विज्ञान ने हमारे जीवन को एक सामान्य स्तर से एक शानदार और अच्छे स्तर तक ले आया है। विज्ञान के द्वारा ही हमें बहुत सारी सुविधाएं मिली हैं। पहले के दिनों में परिवहन के साधन सिमित थे और आज हमारे यहां हर घरों में कार या बाइक अवश्य ही होती है। टी.वी., होम थियेटर, लैपटॉप, फ्रिज, वासिंग-मशीन इत्यादि के आने से हमारे जीवन स्तर में बहुत बदलाव आये है।

2. हमारे दैनिक दिनचर्या में शामिल

पंखा, गीजर, फ्रिज, वाशिंग मशीन, टेलीविजन, गैस स्टोव इत्यादि का उपयोग मनुष्य अपने दैनिक जीवन में करता है, जो विज्ञान की अविश्वसनीय खोज के रूप में हैं। आज के दिनों में इन सभी तकनीकियों के बिना हम अपने जीवन की कल्पना तक नहीं कर सकते है। ये सभी चीजें हमारे दैनिक जीवन की जरुरत बन गयी हैं।

3. चिकित्सा विज्ञान और उपचार में

विभिन्न प्रकार के कई रोगों के लिए इलाज और दवाएं बाजारों में उपलब्ध हैं। मानव शरीर के विभिन्न रोगों के निदान के लिए विभिन्न मशीनें विकसित की गयी हैं। जिन रोगों का पहले निदान नहीं किया जा सकता था आज उन रोगों के निदान करना बहुत ही आसान हो गया है। विज्ञान ने ऐसी चीजों को संभव कर दिया हैं, जो एक समय में असंभव मानी जाती थी। विज्ञान के द्वारा ही कई प्रकार की पुरानी बीमारियों का इलाज संभव हो सका हैं।

4. सुगम संचार

आज लोग आसानी के साथ संदेश और मेल इत्यादि भेज सकते हैं। विज्ञान के द्वारा तकनीक कुछ इस कदर बढ़ी है कि एक देश में बैठा व्यक्ति दूसरे देशों के लोगों के साथ आसानी से संपर्क कर सकता है। यह व्यापार और दूसरे देशों से व्यवसाय करने के लिए सम्पर्क और संचार का एक सबसे बेहतर माध्यम बन चूका है। इसके द्वारा ही हमारे राष्ट्र की अर्थ व्यवस्था को बढ़ावा मिलता है।

5. सीखने और सिखाने में सहायक

इस वैज्ञानिक युग में अनेको परिवर्तन हुए हैं। बोर्ड, चाक और डस्टर की जगह इसने स्मार्ट क्लास का रूप ले लिया हैं। उन छात्रों के लिए शिक्षा आसान हो गयी हैं, जो दूर क्षेत्रों में रहते हैं और कक्षाओं में अपनी उपस्थिति दर्ज नहीं करा पाते हैं।

प्रौद्योगिकी के रुप में विज्ञान के नुकसान

1. पर्यावरणीय दुर्दशा या नुकसान

औद्योगिक क्षेत्रों और वाहनों से उत्पन्न धुएं और धूल, NOx, SOx जैसे गैसीय प्रदूषक, कारखानों से निकलने वाला अपशिष्ट हमारे पर्यावरण के लिए एक बहुत बड़ा खतरा उत्पन्न कर रहे हैं। ये सभी हमारी हवा, पानी और गुणवत्ता को दिन-ओ-दिन खराब कर रही हैं। ये विभिन्न प्रकार के विकसित अविष्कार विज्ञान की देन हैं और अगर ये सभी हमारे पर्यावरण को नुकसान पंहुचा रहे हैं तो यह पूरी तरह से एक अभिशाप के रूप में हैं।

2. जीवन को समाप्त कर देने वाले हथियारों के निर्माण

विज्ञान और उसकी प्रौद्योगिकियों का नकारात्मक रूप से उपयोग कर जैविक हथियारों का निर्माण, पूरी दुनिया के विनास का कारण बन सकती है। प्रौद्योगिकियों का उपयोग आधुनिक हथियारों को बनाने के लिए किया जा सकता है, जो मानव के विनाश का कारण बन सकती है। यह मानव के अस्तित्व को धरती पर से पूरी तरह खत्म कर सकता हैं। द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध के दौरान हिरोशिमा और नागासाकी पर गिराए गए परमाणु बम के विनासकारी प्रभाव आज तक देखे जा सकते हैं। यह भी विज्ञान की ही एक देन थी।

विज्ञान वरदान है या अभिशाप?

विज्ञान मनुष्यों के लिए एक वरदान के रूप में है। विज्ञान ने कई असंभव चीजों को संभव बना दिया है। इसके द्वारा ही आज विभिन्न तकनीकियों, अंतरिक्ष यान, उपग्रह और परमाणु अस्त्रों का विकास हुआ हैं। इसी तकनीक और विज्ञान ने मानव को चाँद और मंगल तक पंहुचा दिया है। पाषाण युग में जो मनुष्य थे, विज्ञान ने आज उन्हें आधुनिक मनुष्यों में बदल दिया है। देश को किसी भी प्रकार के खतरे से बचाने और रक्षा की नई प्रणाली और प्रौद्योगिकी का निर्माण विज्ञान के द्वारा ही संभव हो सका हैं।

The internet boon in India has become one of the major contributions of the economic growth of the country. The use of internet in India has increased to a great over the years. Internet boon has equally affected the metros, villages, education system. Internet Is Boon Or Bane : Something that is both a benefit and an affliction.

Internet can be reckoned as the discovery of man which has revolutionised his style of working and living. It has totally reduced distance, broken all man-made barriers and made our world a small place. It has brought information at our doorstep opening before us what is known as ‘Information Superhighway’ at the click of a button.

The internet didn’t just happen overnight- ather it was the end result of a search that had been in place since the late 1950s. By the time the world started to get online in the mid-1990s, the net had been almost 40 years in the making.

The internet revolutionised the computer and world of communication like never before. The invention of the telegraph, telephone, radio and computer set the stage for this unprecedented integration of capabilities. The internet has a worldwide broadcasting capability, a mechanism for information dissemination, and a medium for collaboration and interaction between individuals and their computers without regard for geographic location.

The internet has changed much in the two-decades since it came into existence. It started as the creation of a small band of dedicated researchers, and has grown to be a commercial success with billions of dollars of annual investments. According to a survey, as of June 2012, over a third of world’s human population have used the services of the internet. This made Bill Gate say

“The internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow”

Some of the ways the internet is being used are for finding people, place or information. One can use the directory services to search the phone books of any country together with zip codes. Businesses and potential businesses research their competition over the internet. In education field, school teachers co-ordinate projects with classrooms all over the globe. College students and their families exchange e-mails to facilitate letter writing and keep down the cost of phone calls. Students do researches with the help of their home computers. Online shopping enables people to browse online, choose titles, and pay for stuff over the net. Not just for students, internet is an incredible tool for job finders too. One can distribute his/her resume online to prospective employers.

Furthermore, people are even finding romance on the net. Singles ads and matchmaking sites vie for users. Patients and doctors keep up-to-date with the latest medical findings, share treatment experience, and give one another support in medical problems around the globe. Some practitioners exchange e-mails directly with their patients. Also people do financial research, buy stock, and invest money. Some companies are online and they even trade their own shares. Churches, NGO’s and other community organisations put up pages telling about themselves and inviting new people. With so many varied and extensive usages, Bill Clinton once said

To begin with, the internet is a system of global connection that networks many computers at a time using its special protocol suite (TCP/IP). It is a system developed for communicating between the devices with the network connection. It is a storehouse of online services with wide coverage in the modern era. Millions of web browsers and sites are available just because of the internet. There are various types of internet connection in the form of cable, fiber, DSL, and satellite internet connections. The modern internet had a foundation since January /, 1983 when Arpanet adopted TCP/IP as an Internet protocol suite. The researchers worked to assemble a ‘network of networks’ that gave us the world wide web in around 1990.

Moreover, the internet has been acting as an addiction to the young generation. From being a storehouse of millions of web pages, there is a flourishment for the negative content. As a consequence crime has taken into a different direction which raised the victimization beyond the politics of one state which is cybercrime. Social media has been a platform more than society and there is the negligence of actual social life. Pictures are a target for the family to get together to post followed captions to set with social media and walls as a showcase. Thus, life has been deteriorating and more of a showcase placed on one’s wall of a media. The children get the gadgets and the internet to learn more than mentors and guardians. This has resulted in making a social animal more of a device with more actions but less interaction.

As a whole, everything has two sides as pros and cons. But talking about the internet, in reality, it has been spreading as an addiction more of a devastating manner instead of improvements. If the use of the internet is not given a proper direction or guidance then the flow of crimes will be more than the flow of information. Hence, there have to be proper mentors mentoring the upcoming generation with proper use of the internet and people use it as a platform to showcase one’s talent instead of unwanted techniques and strategies of degrading activities.
