19 Years After Revenge Of The Sith's Release, I Finally Understand Why Darth Vader Thought HE Killed Anakin

Emma stone's divisive black comedy becomes streaming success following disappointing box office, one deep cut easter egg shows obi-wan kenobi had a bigger influence on luke's childhood than i thought.

Lilo and Stitch has garnered an increasingly large amount of fans since the original movie premiered in 2002. Not only is there a live-action adaptation coming to Disney Plus , but there have been numerous sequels and spin-offs of the film. In the very first sequel,  Stitch! The Movie , we are shown all of Jumba's other experiments besides Stitch, including Reuben.

RELATED:  Why Lilo & Stitch Is Different On Disney+

Reuben, also known as 625, has become one of the franchise's most beloved characters. He may not be as brave or adventurous as Stitch, but he's still lovable for all of his own reasons. Though he's been with us for a long time, here are 10 things you may be surprised to learn about him.

Reuben's First Appearance

experiment 625 costume

Though we first heard Reuben's voice in  Stitch! The Movie , that wasn't his first appearance. Instead, it was in a magazine series called  Disney Adventures . The series was released monthly and was often used to promote upcoming films. Right before the first  Lilo & Stitch film was released, a comic came out that showed Reuben helping Jumba create Stitch.

The most notable difference between the first Reuben and the one we know now is his blue fur. While it's understandable he'd look like Stitch, given he was made right before him, it'd make it confusing to tell the two apart. His fur color may have changed, but we can see that his love of sandwiches stayed the same.

He Has Two English Voices

experiment 625 costume

Rob Paulsen is probably the better-known voice of Reuben. He has voiced him in almost every film and television series Reuben has appeared in. The only time he hasn't is in the anime series  Stitch!  Being one of two foreign spin-offs of the franchise,  Stitch! gave Reuben two additional voices.

In the Japanese version of the series, Reuben was voiced by Kōji Ochiai, who dubbed the voices of characters like Mordecai from  Regular Show   and the titular character of  BoJack Horseman . The English voice actor for Reuben, Dave Wittenberg, has appeared in shows such as  Gravity Falls ,  The Super Hero Squad Show , and  Naruto .

He Has His Own Game

experiment 625 costume

Back when the  Lilo & Stitch television series was airing on Disney Channel, Disney produced many flash games for their website. Even though most of them have Stitch at the forefront, there is one that primarily focuses on Reuben. Making him the only experiment aside from Stitch to have a game, Reuben's game is called  625 Sandwich Stacker .

In the game, Reuben has to catch ingredients falling from the sky to make the perfect sandwich. But if he catches too many rotten ingredients, the whole sandwich falls apart.  625 Sandwich Stacker  shows that Reuben's affinity for sandwiches transcends even into video games.

He's An Anti-Hero

experiment 625 costume

Throughout the series, Reuben is almost always seen by Gantu's side. Going against Lilo and Stitch, Reuben and Gantu's main mission is to capture other experiments before they do. Rather, this is Gantu's mission. Reuben, on the other hand, has his mind on other interests.

RELATED:  10 Greatest Movie Anti-Heroes, Ranked

Reuben would rather make sandwiches all day than catch experiments. To do this, he's occasionally helped Lilo and Stitch capture them, so he could go about his day. Sure, that may make him a lousy villain, but it also makes him a pretty good anti-hero.

His Colors Change

experiment 625 costume

When Reuben is first introduced in  Stitch! The Movie , Jumba tells Gantu and Hämsterviel that he has all the same abilities as Stitch. This may include additional limbs and super strength, but does it include the ability to change colors?

His original blue fur notwithstanding, Reuben's colors changed in  625 Sandwich Stacker . In the game, he has a blue tongue. In other media, his tongue is more of a muted purple color. Also, the inside of his mouth has more vibrant variants of green. It makes one wonder, what other powers could Reuben be hiding?

He's Unnamed Throughout The Series

experiment 625 costume

We may be used to calling Reuben by his name now, but his name didn't come until well after his first appearance. In  Stitch! The Movie  and  Lilo and Stitch: The Series , he's referred to only by his experiment number, 625. It wasn't until another sequel of  Lilo and Stitch , called  Leroy and Stitch , that he was given his name.

Reuben is given his name by Lilo when she needs his help to save Stitch. This also is the tipping point for him, as he decides to become a part of Lilo's ohana . While he may still love sandwiches, this point shows that there may be other things in the world that he cares about.

He's Named After A Sandwich

experiment 625 costume

Almost every aspect of Reuben's identity is based on sandwiches, including his name. In  Leroy and Stitch , Lilo decides to give Reuben his name. In Reuben's words, the name is based on "the classic corned beef and sauerkraut on rye".

Other names Lilo tried to give to Reuben are Patty, which is short for Patty Melt, Monte, short for Monte Cristo, and Pita. Perhaps Reuben made the right choice in sticking with the final option.

His Place Is With Gantu

experiment 625 costume

Though Reuben decides to join Lilo's ohana, Reuben realizes that his place is ultimately with Gantu. At the end of  Leroy and Stitch , Reuben joins the Galactic Armada, alongside Gantu. These were positions that promoted peace and goodness in the galaxy until they were fired in the  Stitch!  anime.

Here, they decided to return to a life of villainy together. At the end of the anime's run, they were both arrested by the Galactic Armada. It shows that whether he's good, bad, or simply looking out for himself, Reuben always has a friend in Gantu.

His Jersey Number Is 8

experiment 625 costume

If Reuben were to ever get into professional basketball, we have an idea of what his jersey would look like. In a parody of  High School Musical , Reuben, Stitch, and other characters from the franchise are playing basketball. When the ball accidentally gets stuck in the ceiling, Stitch tries jumping to get it to fall down.

RELATED:  High School Musical: 5 Relationships Fans Loved (& 5 They Hated)

When that doesn't work, everyone starts dancing to  “ We’re All in This Together ”,  which gets the basketball to come down. Normally Reuben is lazy, but it seems basketball is a way to bring even the most indolent experiments together.

He Appears At Disneyland

experiment 625 costume

The final piece of trivia about Reuben is that he has appeared in several attractions at the Disney theme parks. One appearance was at the  Magic Kingdom , where he was only shown momentarily in "Stitch's Great Escape!" He also appears as a meet-and-greet character at the Disneyland's in Tokyo and Paris, alongside Stitch, Lilo, Gantu, and more.

Lastly, he's seen in parade floats, including "Lilo and Stitch's Big Panic". No matter how you shape it, Reuben has become an impactful member of the franchise and we can't wait to see where he turns up in the future.

625-1-

Reuben (also known as Experiment 625 and Stitch in 625 Sandwich Stacker ) is a character from Lilo & Stitch: The Series . He is Stitch's "cousin". He is voiced by Rob Paulsen.

Biology [ ]

Appearance [ ].

Reuben is a golden yellow chubby gopher-like experiment with a big lemming-like head with short dog-like ears that flop down at the sides of his head, big bulldog-like eyes, three small antennae that look like a tuft of fluffy fur, bright yellow stomach, a bear-like tail chest and around his eyes, dark yellow toes, big red koala-like nose, pointed rat-like fingers, short stumpy beaver-like legs, hourglass-shaped marking on his back and two flat buck teeth sticking out of his mouth and overlapping his bottom lip.

History [ ]

Reuben is experiment number 625 of Jumba Jookiba's original 626 experiments. He is preceded by Angel and followed by Stitch.

Reuben was introduced as experiment 625 in Stitch! The Movie . His dehydrated experiment pod falls out of the pod container during the rush to hide it from Gantu, who later finds it on the floor while he is interrogating Jumba (Jumba says that the pod is a "ping pong ball", but Gantu knows that this is a lie). Being unable to make Jumba tell him where the rest of the pods are, Gantu kidnaps him and takes him along with the pod to Dr. Hämsterviel's space ship. Hämsterviel is initially disappointed in Gantu's failure to bring all of the experiments, but then decides to activate 625 (who Jumba says has all the powers of 626) to torture Jumba into revealing the location of the others.

625 is reactivated and left inside Jumba's detention cell. After waiting outside the door and not hearing any cries of torture from within, Hämsterviel peeks inside and sees that 625 is eating a sandwich instead. Jumba tells him that 625's design flaw is that he's very lazy and only makes sandwiches, leaving Hämsterviel significantly "irked".

Being useless, 625 remains on Hämsterviel's ship, making sandwiches and sarcastic remarks. After Lilo and Stitch are captured, he annoys Gantu by using a security alert to summon him to help order bologna sausage.

625 happens to be on Gantu's ship when Lilo, Stitch, and Sparky disable it's navigation equipment, resulting in him being stranded on Earth with Gantu.

625 ends up becoming Gantu's sidekick in Lilo & Stitch: The Series and spends most of his time relaxing, making sandwiches, and making fun of Gantu. He usually stands at the sidelines, making snide remarks as he watches Gantu fail his missions, but will help out if he feels so inclined. Although Gantu and 625 are often at odds they share some tender moments: watching TV together, relaxing at the beach on a day off, attending a carnival, and in a rare display of compassion 625 even fusses over Gantu when the captain is sick. On occasion 625 has also sided with Lilo, as an anti-hero. His reasons for doing so range from spite, to convenience, to moral principles. 625 is never given a name during the course of the series, though Lilo calls him "sandwich boy" in the episode "627." In one episode when Gantu and Stitch are having an argument about who should be the leader of them, Lilo, 625, Jumba and Pleakly, 625 nominates Lilo as leader and with a majority vote she becomes their leader and thanks to this they're able to defeat the experiment by working together.

At the beginning of Leroy & Stitch , Lilo and her ‘ohana are rewarded for capturing all of Jumba's experiments and finding the one true place they belong. Gantu wonders why Lilo never bothered catching 625, and 625 guesses that the one place he truly belongs is being Gantu's buddy. Gantu, suggesting that was his problem all along, decides to leave Earth and 625 behind in order to break Dr. Hämsterviel out of prison.

Later, Lilo visits Gantu's old ship, looking for an intergalactic communicator to contact Stitch with. She finds 625 filling the ship with sandwiches, saying that he's going to start "the best spaceship-shaped sandwich shop on the island." She gives him a home-made peanut butter & jelly sandwich as a peace offering. 625 is moved by this act, since no one had ever made him a sandwich before, but is suspicious of Lilo's motives and refuses to fix Gantu's broken communicator when she asks him. She then realizes that she never gave 625 a name. After rejecting Patty, Monte, and Pita Pita Sandwich Eata, 625 chooses the name Reuben. The newly christened Reuben asks if his new name gives him "official cousin status," "full ‘ohana rights", and "all that aloha stuff." Lilo says he'll get aloha if he gives some back in return, so he decides to fix the communicator.

After learning that Stitch is in danger, Lilo asks Reuben to help her fix Gantu's ship so they can rescue him. Reuben again refuses, but Lilo tells him that, since he's the closest experiment to Stitch, if he stopped making sandwiches he could make something of himself. Reuben decides to try it, revealing to her surprise that he really does have all the same powers as Stitch. Working together, they quickly repair Gantu's ship and fly to Planet Turo.

The two of them are captured by Dr. Hämsterviel, but join up with the recently fired Gantu (and later Stitch, Jumba, and Pleakley) to escape. Reuben does his part in fighting during the Leroy clone battle along with all of the other experiments. When they perform the Aloha Oe concert, Reuben sings along with Lilo and Stitch and plays the saxophone.

In the end, Gantu is offered back his former job as captain of the Galactic Armada when Stitch steps down. He accepts the job on one condition: That Reuben joins him as his Galley Officer proving that his one true place actually was with Gantu.

Abilities [ ]

Reuben has the same powers as Stitch, with the addition of advanced language programming (the ability to speak perfect English, with an inexplicable Brooklyn accent) and the ability to make sandwiches. Due to his laziness, laid back nature, and lack of violent mentality, Jumba considered him a failed project. Reuben only uses his powers a few rare times until Lilo persuades him to use them for good in Leroy & Stitch . Like Stitch, he has an extra set of retractable arms, three retractable back spines, super strength, and the ability to walk on the ceiling (though he is out of practice). He also proves to be an excellent mechanic, fixing Gantu's abandoned ship in less than a day using pickle juice as a conductor, and can play the saxophone. During the battle scene in Aloha Stadium it is shown that even his sandwich making skill has a place in battle, when he throws sandwiches at the Leroy clones to make them slip and fall.

However powerful Reuben potentially may be, he does have one physical weaknesses - he is ticklish. But despite saying otherwise in "Snafu" he gets tickled on his sides and foot by Tickle-Tummy (Experiment 275), where he finally admits it.

Unlike Stitch, Reuben can swim, but he doesn't seem to be anywhere near as durable, suffering fairly painful looking injury after helping train Heat, Plasmoid, Thresher and Hammerface for Gantu (however, as it has been stated more then once that he has all of Stitch's powers, he may very well be as durable, and the pain he received may be psychological in nature, or from a lack of mental attitude to tolerate pain as well as Stitch.).

He may seem a bit heavyheaded but has a very soft spot for Lilo.

Other Appearances [ ]

  • Reuben first appeared in the promotional Disney Adventures comics released before Lilo & Stitch , where he acts as Jumba's lazy sidekick and helps him test Stitch's abilities. His physical appearance in the comics is different, having blue-green fur, beadier eyes, and a larger belly, but he retains his personality and love of sandwiches. These Disney Adventures comics have since been retconned by the events described in Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has A Glitch , where Stitch is apprehended directly after his creation and Reuben is no where to be seen. In the promotional Lilo & Stitch: The Series comics, his eyes and build change to reflect his new look, but his blue-green fur color remains the same.
  • Reuben makes a short appearance at the end of the game Lilo & Stitch 2: Hämsterviel Havoc for Game Boy Advance , where he offers the defeated Gantu a breadless cheese sandwich.
  • Reuben appears, along with several other "Lilo & Stitch" characters, in a parody of the Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical , which was broadcast as part of the " High School Musical : Around the World" one-year anniversary special.
  • Reuben will appear in Stitch! . He will be voiced by Kōzō Shioya .

Experiment 625 was the 625th genetic experiment created by Jumba with Hämsterviel's funding. He was designed for Stitch's purpose but was considered a failed experiment due to his lazy nature. 625 and the previous 624 experiments were deactivated and smuggled to Earth by Jumba during his mission to capture Experiment 626.

Personality

Despite having all the powers of Stitch, Reuben is an incredibly lazy coward. However, during the events of Leroy & Stitch, Reuben finally made something of himself and used his powers to help save the entire galaxy. He is actually very humble, friendly and sympathetic, though often makes wisecracks but is usually quite crabby towards others when they disturb him (especially Gantu). He has tagged along with Gantu and Dr. Hämsterviel during many villanous plots but has stated that he doesn't really care who wins.

Reuben constantly insults Gantu's bumbling and incompetent nature but is sometimes very compassionate and thoughtful towards him and secretly sees him as his best friend and companion. He can also be considered somewhat of a coward, especially when Gantu forces Reuben to battle Stitch on a few occasions. Unlike Gantu, however, Reuben is fearless of Hämsterviel who apparently rejects him due to his laziness, explaining why Gantu has never sent Reuben to him. He also has a rather unusual and bizarre love for sandwiches. Most of the time, he is seen with either a finished sandwich in his hand or making one. His sandwiches are apparently very tasty, as even Gantu asks Reuben for some.

During the course of the series, it has been shown that Reuben secretly sees Stitch as his brother and vice versa. Also, just like Stitch, he has a crush on Angel, therefore making him Stitch's rival for Angel's love. Despite his wisecracks and laziness, Reuben is also shown to have sensitive side as seen in Leroy & Stitch, when Gantu abandons him and leaves him alone on Earth, causing him to become bitter and lonely.

Aside from this, Reuben is incredibly intelligent and clever, especially when it comes to the experiments. Although he was the second-to-last experiment to be created, Reuben has excessive knowledge of every experiment, even the ones that were created far before his time, such as Ace, most likely due to being Jumba's former assistant. There are also a few instances where Reuben acts like kind of an "inside man" for Lilo and Stitch, like telling Lilo how to bet Experiment 627 (but this was only so 627 would leave him alone, not for the sake of the galaxy).

Reuben is also shown to be inquisitive. In "Babyfier", his curiosity led to him releasing Babyfier from his container on Gantu to find out what Gantu's alien species started out as.

Physical Appearance

Reuben is a golden yellow (blue in the Disney Adventures magazines), chubby koala/marmoy-like experiment that looks like Stitch, with a big head with short ears that flop down at the sides of his head, large black eyes, three small brown-tipped antennae that look like a tuft of fluffy fur, bright yellow stomach, chest and around his eyes, dark yellow toes, big red nose, pointed fingers, short stumpy legs, two brown markings on his back (one hourglass-shaped and an oblong marking above it) and two flat buck teeth sticking out of his mouth and overlapping his bottom lip. He also has brown retractable claws on front limbs.

He stands slightly shorter than Stitch (their antennae and Stitch ears ignored) but the height difference is very subtle, to the point that animation doesn't seem to depict this well. The anime-based video game Stitch Jam has arguably the best depiction of their height difference (along with that of Angel and Felix), as on the character select screen for the game's Free Mode and Challenge Mode, Reuben is slightly shorter than Stitch and Felix (both of whom stand at the same height), while Angel is shorter than all three of them.

Powers and Abilities

Reuben possesses all of Stitch's powers, including the ability to grow an extra pair of arms, three black spines and two antennae on top of his head, lift objects up to 3,000 times his own weight, think faster than a supercomputer, roll into a ball, see in the dark and scale walls and ceilings. He can also speak fluently (with a hint of a Brooklyn accent), though he is capable of understanding Tantalog, his native tongue and is a very talented sandwich maker (and sandwich eater). Obviously, he is too lazy for much physical combat of use of his powers and therefore prefers to stand on the sidelines.

Printed Material

Disney adventures prequel comics.

Before Stitch's creation and when Jumba was struggling with creating his ultimate monster, 625 served as Jumba's primary assistant in the labs, though this mostly involved him making sandwiches for his master. When Stitch first gets loose on Turo, 625 comes with Jumba to help him track the creature down but the arrest would eventually come and 625 would be podded.

These events have since been retconned by the events described in Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch, where Stitch is apprehended directly after his creation and Reuben is nowhere to be seen.

Disney Parks

Reuben makes occasional appearances at Tokyo Disneyland, usually in parades along with many other experiments. Reuben makes an appearance in Lilo and Stitch's Big Panic on a float with the villains of his franchise (and Felix). Reuben makes an extremely brief, non-speaking appearance in Stitch's Great Escape! at the Magic Kingdom when Gantu gives guests a quick look at the "criminals" of the galaxy.

Background [ ]

Experiment 625 was the 625th genetic experiment created by Jumba with Hämsterviel 's funding. He was designed for Stitch 's purpose but was considered a failed experiment due to his lazy nature. 625 and the previous 624 experiments were deactivated and smuggled to Earth by Jumba during his mission to capture Experiment 626.

Personality [ ]

Despite having all the powers of Stitch , Reuben is an incredibly lazy coward. However, during the events of Leroy & Stitch , Reuben finally made something of himself and used his powers to help save the entire galaxy. He is actually very humble, friendly, and sympathetic, though often makes wisecracks, but is usually quite crabby toward others when they disturb him (especially Gantu ). He has tagged along with Gantu and Dr. Hämsterviel during many villainous plots, but has stated that he doesn't really care who wins.

Reuben constantly insults Gantu's bumbling and incompetent nature, but is sometimes very compassionate and thoughtful towards him and secretly sees him as his best friend and companion.

Also, just like Stitch, he has a crush on Angel , therefore making him Stitch's rival for Angel's love. Despite his wisecracks and laziness, Reuben is also shown to have a sensitive side as seen in Leroy & Stitch , when Gantu abandons him and leaves him alone on Earth, causing him to become bitter and lonesome.

Aside from this, Reuben is incredibly intelligent and clever, especially when it comes to the experiments. Although he was the second-to-last experiment to be created, Reuben has excessive knowledge of every experiment, even the ones that were created far before his time, such as Ace , most likely due to being Jumba 's former assistant. There are also a few instances where Reuben acts like kind of an "inside man" for Lilo and Stitch, like telling Lilo how to beat Experiment 627 (but this was only so 627 would leave him alone, not for the sake of the galaxy).

Reuben is also shown to be inquisitive. In "Babyfier", his curiosity led to him releasing Babyfier from his container on Gantu to find out what Gantu's alien species started out as.

Physical appearance [ ]

Reuben is a golden yellow (teal blue in the Disney Adventures magazines), chubby koala/marmot-like experiment that looks like Stitch , with a big head with short ears that flop down at the sides of his head, large black eyes, three small brown-tipped antennae that look like a tuft of fluffy fur, bright yellow stomach, chest and around his eyes, three dark yellow toes on each foot, big red nose, four pointed fingers on each hand, short stumpy legs, two brown markings on his back (one hourglass-shaped and an oblong marking above it), and two flat buck teeth sticking out of his mouth and overlapping his bottom lip. He also has brown retractable claws on his fingers. Additionally, he has only three toes on each foot, unlike his immediate successor and immediate predecessor who both have four toes on each of their feet, although he has been depicted with four toes in error before.

He stands slightly shorter than Stitch (his three antennae and droopy ears ignored), but the height difference is very subtle, to the point that the animation doesn't seem to depict this very well. The anime-based video game Stitch Jam has arguably the best depiction of their height difference (along with that of Angel and Felix ), as on the character select screen for the game's Free Mode and Challenge Mode, Reuben is slightly shorter than Stitch and Felix (both of whom stand at the same height), while Angel is shorter than all three of them.

Special Abilities [ ]

Reuben possesses all of Stitch's powers, including the ability to grow an extra pair of arms (it is unknown if he has the three back spines and two additional antennae on top of his head). He can lift objects up to 3,000 times his own weight, think faster than a supercomputer, roll into a ball, see in the dark, and scale walls and ceilings. He can also speak fluently (with a hint of a Brooklyn accent), though he is capable of understanding Tantalog, his native tongue, and is a very talented sandwich maker (and sandwich eater). Obviously, he is too lazy for much physical combat or use of his powers, and therefore prefers to stand on the sidelines. He also has knowledge of advanced technology, as he was able to repair a telecommunications array using pickle juice.

Weaknesses [ ]

Reuben was originally very lazy and cowardly, and is proven to be ticklish when Tickle-Tummy tickle tortures him in the episode "Snafu". Also, he doesn't seem to be anywhere near as durable, suffering painful-looking injuries after taking a beating from Gantu's four henchmen experiments in "Dupe". However, as it has been repeatedly stated that he has all of Stitch's powers, he may very well be as durable, and the pain he received may be either psychological in nature or from a lack of mental attitude to tolerate pain as well as Stitch. It is uncertain whether or not Reuben shares Stitch's weakness of water, although he doesn't seem to mind being in water as much as Stitch does.

Appearances [ ]

Prequel comics [ ].

Experiment 625 was the 625th genetic experiment created by Jumba with Hämsterviel's funding. He was designed for Stitch 's purpose, but was considered a failed experiment due to his lazy nature. 625 and the previous 624 experiments were deactivated and smuggled to Earth by Jumba during his mission to capture Experiment 626.

Before Stitch 's creation and when Jumba was struggling with creating his ultimate monster, 625 served as Jumba's primary assistant in the labs, though this mostly involved him making sandwiches for his master. When Stitch first gets loose on Turo, 625 comes with Jumba to help him track the creature down, but the arrest would eventually come and 625 would be podded.

625 appears in the same blue color as Stitch in the prequel comics. This blue color was still kept in the early comics based on the show, persisting even in reprints.

Stitch! The Movie [ ]

Vlcsnap-2013-01-07-08h42m50s17

Reuben after his release from his pod in Stitch! The Movie

While Jumba and Pleakley were fighting over the experiment pod container, unseen to them, 625's experiment pod slipped out.

Gantu later discovered the pod while abducting Jumba and took it with him back to Hämsterviel's ship for interrogation.

When Jumba refused to reveal the location of the other experiment pods, Gantu and Hämsterviel decided to activate Experiment 625 (who Jumba stated has all the powers of 626) and use him to torture Jumba. However, Gantu and Hämsterviel were awestruck to discover 625's cowardly and lazy nature when he was seen making sandwiches instead of tormenting Jumba.

625 later frequently attempted to gain new bologna for his sandwiches, until he was trapped on Earth after Gantu's ship crashed with Gantu and 625 on board.

Lilo & Stitch: The Series [ ]

Vlcsnap-2012-12-21-16h45m49s188

Reuben as seen in Lilo & Stitch: The Series

625 is still stranded on Earth along with Gantu and spends most of his time relaxing, making sandwiches, and ridiculing Gantu for his frequent failures and bumbling. He turns out to be quite intelligent and gives plenty of information about the experiments to Gantu. He is portrayed as Gantu's wisecracking sidekick and often tags along during experiment hunting.

625 was once commanded by Gantu to battle Stitch , but due to his lazy nature, he did not fight and was easily beaten. Ironically, he used his powers twice in the series: when he climbed up the ship's window and also kicked Gantu across the beach in "Phoon". In addition, he proved to be more tolerant of water than Stitch, such as when he plunged into the ocean to get out of harm's way in "Splodyhead", and when he and Gantu got sunk while aboard different watercraft in "Sinker". In "Mr. Stenchy", 625 was actually jealous of Gantu's affections towards the newfound experiment Mr. Stenchy.

Throughout the series, 625 served as Gantu's reluctant sidekick, although he is usually no help at all, doesn't do anything, messes up Gantu's plans, or even helps Lilo and Stitch against Gantu on some occasions. However, he has helped Gantu in a few episodes.

Leroy & Stitch [ ]

Vlcsnap-2012-11-29-16h11m14s67

Reuben in Leroy & Stitch

With Gantu having failed to capture any experiments other than 625 himself, the former abandoned 625 on Earth and left to free Hämsterviel from prison. Hurt and/or infuriated at this, 625 decided to convert Gantu's deserted ship into his own sandwich shop.

Sometime later, Lilo visited 625 to use the ship's videophone, and even made him a PBJ sandwich as a peace offering. 625 initially rejected Lilo's plea until she discovered that she had never given him a name (he was still 625 to this point). After a few failed attempts, 625 finally agreed to the name Reuben. Lilo then convinced Reuben to repair the ship's communication system so that she could contact Stitch .

After the call was placed, the two discovered that the Stitch in control of the B.R.B. was an impostor . Realizing that Stitch was in danger, Lilo asked for Reuben's help, but the latter claimed it wasn't their problem. Lilo then enlightened Reuben on how he could do whatever Stitch can and convinced him to make something of himself. Although hesitant, Reuben complied after Lilo persuaded him. He then repaired the ship, while revealing his incredible powers, and the two flew it to Turo to warn the Grand Councilwoman .

However, when Lilo and Reuben arrived, they discovered that they were too late, as Hämsterviel and his Leroy army had already overthrown the Galactic Alliance. Hämsterviel ordered Gantu to arrest Lilo and Reuben, but Gantu was fired in the process due to Leroy being Hämsterviel's new henchman. However, Lilo and Reuben were soon broken out by a reformed Gantu after Reuben convinced him to switch sides. Before the three were able to escape, they were caught by a group of Leroy guards. However, they were saved by Stitch, Jumba and Pleakley 's timely arrival and escaped back to Earth in time to save the captured experiments that were taken to a stadium to be destroyed.

Reuben participated in the following battle between the experiments and the Leroy clones by slipping up attacking Leroys with sandwiches. When the Leroys gained the upper hand in the battle, Lilo, Stitch, Reuben (playing a saxophone), and several other experiments performed the song "Aloha ʻOe", which caused the entire Leroy army to shut down due to the original's fail-safe.

Following the battle, when the Galactic Alliance was reinstated and Gantu returned to his job as captain, the latter hired Reuben as his galley officer.

Stitch! [ ]

Reuben as seen in Stitch!

In the Stitch! anime, it is revealed in the English dub that he and Gantu were fired from the Galactic Armada because of some incident involving bad karaoke singing. Since they needed money, they once again sought out Hämsterviel for employment. Since then, Reuben has been in almost every other episode of the anime with Gantu and Hämsterviel.

In one episode of Season 3 of the anime, Hämsterviel modifies Reuben to be able to use his powers as often as possible, giving him the ability to easily defeat Stitch . This transformation also gave him a "bad boy" personality, and it is because of this that Angel dumped Stitch for Reuben until Stitch saved her from plummeting to Earth. Reuben was later snapped out of this trance when he saw someone making a sandwich incorrectly. Reuben was last seen in the anime's final episode when he, Gantu, Hämsterviel, and Delia are put in prison by the Grand Councilwoman .

Reuben also appeared in the specials Stitch and the Planet of Sand and Stitch! Perfect Memory .

Printed media [ ]

Disney adventures prequel comics [ ].

These events have since been retconned by the events described in Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch , where Stitch is apprehended directly after his creation and Reuben is nowhere to be seen.

Disney Parks [ ]

Reuben makes occasional appearances at Tokyo Disneyland, usually in parades along with many other experiments. Reuben makes an appearance in Lilo and Stitch's Big Panic on a float with the villains of the franchise (and Felix ). Reuben makes an extremely brief, non-speaking appearance in Stitch's Great Escape! at the Magic Kingdom when Gantu gives guests a quick look at the "criminals" of the galaxy.

  • In some promotional Lilo & Stitch: The Series comics, his eyes and build change to reflect his new look, but his blue-green fur color remains the same.
  • Jess Winfield confirmed that the alteration from blue fur to tan fur was an artistic choice made to more clearly separate Reuben from Stitch. [1]
  • Reuben also appeared in a DVD bonus feature of Stitch! The Movie in the experiment gallery, although his name was never revealed at the time.
  • Reuben makes a brief cameo at the end of the game Lilo & Stitch 2: Hämsterviel Havoc for Game Boy Advance, where he offers the defeated Gantu a breadless cheese sandwich. This screenshot of him was taken from the series episode "Splodyhead".
  • Reuben appears, along with several other Lilo & Stitch characters, in a parody of the Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical , which was broadcast as part of the High School Musical: Around the World one-year anniversary special.
  • Before settling with Reuben, Lilo had a few other names for him in relation to sandwiches and/or his love for them, but he declined: " Patty ", " Monte ", and "Pita Pita Sandwich Eata".
  • Reuben was the first experiment to be seen in pod form, but also the last to be named by Lilo and to be rehabilitated.
  • Reuben rarely extends his claws, as they are normally completely retracted. However, in "Mr. Stenchy", Reuben is seen with his claws extended, using them to spread grape jelly on bread as if his claws were butter knives.
  • In the Stitch! anime, Reuben's paw pads, which are brown, are usually incorrectly colored as the same light tan as his countershading.
  • Reuben is one of the few known experiments that can speak fluently.
  • Although Reuben has all of Stitch's powers, out of all his powers, Reuben's ability to roll into a ball never appears onscreen in the franchise.
  • In "627", Lilo referred to 625 as "Sandwich Boy" when he telephoned her, although it is unknown how he learned or obtained the Pelekais' phone number.
  • In the anime, his pod is white when Jumba dehydrates him in "Stitch's Birthday, Part One".
  • Reuben is one of the few experiments to not appear in the group photo at the end of Leroy & Stitch , as he was probably with Gantu.
  • During the time of the series, Reuben had his name on the Lilo & Stitch games and his character profile on the Disney Channel website and in various storybooks before Leroy & Stitch was finished. Ironically, in the Spanish version of Leroy & Stitch , he was never referred to as Reuben; he was only named "625".
  • When Reuben appeared in Disney Tsum Tsum for a 2018/2019 Lilo & Stitch: The Series -themed event, the game referred to him as "Experiment 625" like he was during the show before the release of Leroy & Stitch , never acknowledging his later-given name, despite the fact that Leroy also appeared during the same event.
  • Reuben makes a cameo in Disney Emoji Blitz during Angel 's Power, but he is unplayable.

Rueben, or experiment 625, is the experiment created by Jumba right before Stitch. He is considered a failed experiment due to his very lazy nature. He has special powers but barely uses them and spends most of his time enjoying life and eating sandwiches. He is also known to be Gantu’s sidekick and should not be trusted with any Kingdom related business.  He was meant to appear at a special event in Paris in 2013 but took a nap right before and didn’t wake up on time and missed it. He did however participated to the 25th anniversary celebration there on april 12, 2017.

Reuben (Experiment 625)

Reuben (Experiment 625)

Experiment 625 , now known as  Reuben , is an illegal genetic experiment created by  Jumba Jookiba , and former villain from the  Lilo & Stitch  franchise. He serves as an antagonist for  The Series , but later becomes a protagonist in  Leroy & Stitch . He is designed to be abnormally strong, virtually indestructible, super intelligent and very mischievous...in other words, he is a prototype of Stitch, even equipped with more lingual skills. The main flaw in his design was laziness; the most strenuous thing he did was make sandwiches, albeit delicious ones. Before the events of  Leroy & Stitch , Reuben didn't do much besides make sandwiches all the time, much to  Gantu 's anger. His one true place is with Gantu as his galley officer. He is voiced by Rob Paulsen.

  • Ultimate Monster Experiment
  • Failed experiments

Experiment 625: Reuben

Ah, now here's an Experiment you can get along with, but not so much with the getting destructive results. What is wrong with 625, you ask? Well, he has all the powers of 626, but almost always refuses to use them. Incredibly slothful, he is at least good cook, able to make great sandwiches for-to-be eating during Evil Genius Creations. After forth failure in the attempt to create ultimate monster I began to develop 626 more responsible than all previous creations

Stats/Strengths [ ]

Experiment 625 Reuben

"Subway sandwich, skipper?"-One of Reuben's many one-liners at Gantu's expense.

Pod Color: Blue

Voice Actor: Rob Paulsen

Special Abilities: making sandwiches

Like 626, 625 is stronger than army ants, and can walk on ceilings! And his egg salad and rice balls are not half bad, either.

One True Place: Galley Officer for Gantu after he helped Little Girl escape from hack Hamsterviel.

Weakness [ ]

While thankfully able to swim, unlike 626, 625 is more likely to eat sandwiches than to fight. However, it's this passiveness that has proven surprisingly successful in the long run. As, when you get to know him, he and Gantu are okay peoples.

A Bilbao on Siberia’s Edge?

I WAS wandering though a dozen curtained-off video galleries on the second floor of one of Russia’s newest cultural hot spots, the Perm Museum of Modern Art (Permm), watching provocative art videos by a Siberian performance group named Blue Noses, when I came across a plain cardboard box. Peering inside, I was startled to see a film loop projected from the ceiling of one of the Blue Noses dressed as Lenin manically twitching in his coffin.

Perhaps Lenin, who famously disdained abstract art, really would be turning in his grave if he saw the sort of creations that this city, where his parents met, is attracting in its quest to become Russia’s center for contemporary art.

The gateway to Siberia and some 900 miles from Moscow, Perm used to be the last stop to nowhere, the transient point where criminals, political prisoners and other people deemed undesirable by the czars and the Soviet regime passed through on their way to forced exile and later the gulags, often never to be heard from again. During the cold war, Perm itself disappeared from Soviet maps when it became a “closed city,” off limits to outsiders thanks to its military production facilities.

But now, driving from the smokestack-ringed suburbs into the city center where candy-colored czarist buildings huddle with Siberian log cabins and Soviet concrete monstrosities, distinct flavors are emerging. Giant figurines of red Lego-like men lounge in the plaza of the former Soviet administrative headquarters and lurk from a nearby rooftop, the work of an art collective called the Professors.

Other eye-catching street art, like a bronze sculpture of a photographer shooting a giant set of ears, a 10-foot half-eaten apple, a tubular St. Stephen, appear, often incongruously, along the sidewalks.

For the past three years, this town of barely a million inhabitants has been aiming to establish itself as a key stop on Russia’s cultural map, opening gallery and performance spaces the way it once produced nuclear ballistic missiles. Perm has a dozen (and counting) theaters featuring productions that are attracting audiences from faraway St. Petersburg and Moscow. The broad esplanade running from the city’s main square has become the site of almost continuous international art, theater and music fairs during the summer. Even the grim-walled former prison camp outside town, Perm-36 , billed as Russia’s only gulag museum, was converted into a theater last July for a well-reviewed production of “Fidelio,” Beethoven’s opera about political repression.
