స‌త్య‌భామ (కాజ‌ల్ అగ‌ర్వాల్‌) షీ టీమ్‌లో ఏసీపీగా ప‌నిచేస్తుంటుంది. హ‌సీనా అనే యువ‌తిని ఆమె భ‌ర్త యాదు చిత్ర‌హింస‌ల‌కు గురిచేస్తుంటాడు. యాదు (అనిరుధ్ ప‌విత్ర‌న్‌) బారి నుంచి హ‌సీనాను కాపాడేందుకు స‌త్య‌భామ ప్ర‌య‌త్నిస్తుంది. అనుకోకుండా హ‌సీనా దారుణ హ‌త్య‌కు గురువుతుంది. హ‌సీనా భ‌ర్త యాదుతో పాటు ఆమె త‌మ్ముడు ఇక్భాల్ (ప్ర‌జ్వ‌ల్ యాద్మ‌) క‌నిపించ‌కుండాపోతారు.

ఈ కేసులో నిర్ల‌క్ష్యంగా వ్య‌హ‌రించిన స‌త్య‌భామ‌ షీ టీమ్ నుంచి వైదొల‌గాల్సివ‌స్తుంది. హ‌సీనాను చంపిన యాదును ప‌ట్టుకోవ‌డంతో పాటు ఆమె త‌మ్ముడు ఇక్బాల్ మిస్సింగ్‌ వెన‌కున్న మిస్ట‌రీని ఛేదించే క్ర‌మంలో స‌త్య‌భామ‌కు ఎలాంటి నిజాలు తెలిశాయి? స‌త్య‌భామ‌ ఇన్వేస్టిగేష‌న్‌లోకి ఎంపీ కొడుకు రిషి (అంకిత్ కొయ్య‌)ఎందుకొచ్చాడు?

మ‌ర్డ‌ర్ మిస్ట‌రీజాన‌ర్ సినిమాల్లో క్యారెక్ట‌ర్స్‌, బ్యాక్‌డ్రాప్‌లు వేరైనా క‌థ‌లు ఒకేలా ఉంటాయి. ఎలాంటి ఆధారాలు లేకుండా ఓ మ‌ర్డ‌ర్ జ‌ర‌గ‌డం, ఈ హ‌త్య వెనుకున్న కార‌ణాల్ని హీరో లేదా హీరోయిన్ త‌న తెలివితేట‌ల‌తో క‌నిపెట్టే క్ర‌మంలో రివీల‌య్యే ట్విస్ట్‌లు, చివ‌ర‌కు అస‌లైన హంత‌కుడు ప‌ట్టుకోవ‌డంతో ఈ క‌థ‌లు ముగుస్తుంటాయి. స‌త్య‌భామ కూడా అలాంటి టెంప్లేట్ మ‌ర్డ‌ర్ మిస్ట‌రీ మూవీనే.

షీ టీమ్ బాధ్య‌త‌...

లేడీ ఓరియెంటెడ్ క్రైమ్ ఇన్వేస్టిగేష‌న్ థ్రిల్ల‌ర్‌గా ద‌ర్శ‌కుడు సుమ‌న్ చిక్కాల ఈ మూవీని తెర‌కెక్కించారు. క‌మ‌ర్షియ‌ల్ మూవీలో మ‌హిళ‌ల ర‌క్ష‌ణ విష‌యంలో షీ టీమ్ బాధ్య‌త‌ను, సొసైటీలో అమ్మాయిల‌పై జ‌రుగుతోన్న అఘాయిత్యాల‌ను ఆలోచ‌నాత్మ‌కంగా సినిమాలో చూపించారు. సందేశం ఇచ్చిన‌ట్లుగా కాకుండా క‌మ‌ర్షియ‌ల్ కోణంలోనే ఈ పాయింట్‌ను థ్రిల్లింగ్‌గా చెప్ప‌డం ఆక‌ట్టుకుంటుంది.

ఆరంభంలోనే రివీల్‌...

సాధార‌ణంగా మ‌ర్డ‌ర్ మిస్ట‌రీ థ్రిల్ల‌ర్ సినిమాల్లో విల‌న్ ఎవ‌ర‌న్న‌ది చివ‌రి వ‌ర‌కు రివీల్ కాదు. ఇందులో మాత్రం ఆరంభంలోనే హంత‌కుడు ఎవ‌ర‌న్న‌ది చెప్పేసిన డైరెక్ట‌ర్‌ ఆడియెన్స్‌లో క్యూరియాసిటీని క‌లిగించాడు. అత‌డిని ప‌ట్టుకునేందుకు హీరోయిన్ వేసే ఎత్తులు, ఆమె ఇన్వేస్టిగేష‌న్‌లో వెల్ల‌డ‌య్యే నిజాల‌తో స్క్రీన్‌ప్లేను గ్రిప్పింగ్‌గా రాసుకున్నాడు శ‌శికిర‌ణ్ తిక్కా.

ఈ ఇన్వేస్టిగేష‌న్ ప్రాసెస్‌లో ఒక్కో కొత్త క్యారెక్ట‌ర్ ఎంట్రీ ఇవ్వ‌డం, వాటితో ప్ర‌ధాన పాత్ర‌ల‌కు ఉన్న సంబంధాలు ఆక‌ట్టుకుంటాయి. వారిపై అనుమానాల‌ను రేకెత్తిస్తూ హ‌సీనా హ‌త్య‌ వెన‌కున్న ట్విస్ట్‌ను చివ‌రి వ‌ర‌కు ప్రేక్ష‌కుల ఊహ‌ల‌కు అందంగా ఎంగేజింగ్‌గా న‌డిపించారు.

లెక్క‌కు మించిన క్యారెక్ట‌ర్స్‌...

స‌త్య‌భామ‌లో లెక్క‌కుమించిన క్యారెక్ట‌ర్స్ ఉండ‌టం, ఏ పాత్ర‌కు స‌రైన ఇంపార్టెన్స్ లేక‌పోవ‌డ‌మే మైన‌స్‌గా మారింది. ప్రేక్ష‌కుల‌ను థ్రిల్ చేయ‌డానికే కావాల‌నే కొన్ని క్యారెక్ట‌ర్స్‌ను ఇరికించిన ఫీలింగ్ క‌లుగుతుంది. మ‌లుపులు కూడా ఎక్కువైపోవ‌డంతో ఓ టైమ్‌లో సినిమా క‌న్‌ఫ్యూజ్ చేస్తుంది. స‌త్య‌భామ ఇన్వేస్టిగేష‌న్‌లో ఆస‌క్తి లోపించింది. చాలా చోట్ల ద‌ర్శ‌కుడు లాజిక్‌ల‌ను వ‌దిలేశాడు. ఊహించింత ఇంటెన్స్‌గా క్లైమాక్స్‌ను ఎండ్ చేయ‌లేక‌పోయాడు.

యాక్ష‌న్ సీన్స్ కోసం కాజ‌ల్ క‌ష్టం...

స‌త్య‌భామ పాత్ర‌లో అద‌ర‌గొట్టింది. ఓ యువ‌తి మ‌ర్డ‌ర్‌ను సాల్వ్ చేసే పోలీస్ ఆఫీస‌ర్ పాత్ర‌లో సీరియ‌స్‌నెస్‌, ఎమోష‌న్స్‌ను చ‌క్క‌గా ప‌లికించింది. యాక్ష‌న్ సీన్స్ లో ఆమె ప‌డిన క‌ష్టం స్క్రీన్‌పై క‌నిపిస్తుంది. అమ‌ర్‌గా న‌వీన్‌చంద్ర (Naveen Chandra) రొటీన్ క్యారెక్ట‌ర్‌లో క‌నిపించాడు. ప‌జ్వ‌ల్ యాద్మ‌, అంకిత్ కొయ్య, హ‌ర్ష‌వ‌ర్ధ‌న్‌తో పాటు ప‌లువురు న‌టీన‌టులు ఉన్నా ఏ క్యారెక్ట‌ర్ పెద్ద‌గా గుర్తుండిపోతుంది. ప్ర‌కాష్ రాజ్ అనుభ‌వాన్ని స‌రిగా వాడుకోలేదు. శ్రీచ‌ర‌ణ్ పాకాల బీజీఎమ్‌, శ‌శికిర‌ణ్ తిక్కా స్క్రీన్‌ప్లే స‌త్య‌భామ‌కు ప్ల‌స‌య్యాయి.

ఛాలెంజింగ్ రోల్స్‌కు...

స‌త్య‌భామ కొత్త కోణంలో సాగే మ‌ర్డ‌ర్ మిస్ట‌రీ థ్రిల్ల‌ర్‌. గ్లామ‌ర్ పాత్ర‌లు మాత్ర‌మే కాదు అవ‌కాశం వ‌స్తే యాక్ష‌న్ ఓరియెంటెడ్‌తో కూడిన ఛాలెంజింగ్ రోల్స్‌కు కాజ‌ల్ న్యాయం చేయ‌గ‌ల‌ద‌ని నిరూపించే మూవీ ఇది.

Kollywood actor Sri Ram is also a noted celebrity in the Telugu industry. Rahul Ramakrishna who recently tasted a blockbuster director 'Jathi Ratnalu' movie joined hands with Sriram and came up with a thriller drama titled 'Y'. The intriguing title and posters have already created enough buzz around the movie which got released on April 2nd 2021 on Aha. 

Baalu Adusumilli helmed this project which also features actors like Akshay Chandra, Gemini Suresh, and Kathi Mahesh in key roles. Yerukonda Raghu Ram, Shrinivas Vegi and Murali Maturu bankrolled this project which is a Vikas Badisa's musical. 

Critic Review

Raghuram (Sriram) is a successful director in Tollywood. But as his recent outing ends up as the biggest disaster, he got disturbed mentally. So, Raghu Ram's wife convinces him to hire a writer. Then comes Baalu (Rahul Ramakrishna) who narrates a solid story. Raghu Ram likes the story but decides not to give credits to Balu. This brings the twist to the tale. What will Baalu do now forms the rest of the story. 

The basic storyline of the movie is very simple and there is nothing much to rave about. Despite having a simple story, if the narration is good, it would have been better. But the slow-paced narration and sloppy scenes will irk the audience. After a point, the main conflict is kept aside and the director only highlighted the unnecessary subplots and characters which will irritate the audience.  

Director gave priority only to the unnecessary points and dragged the movie. The sloppy screenplay and slow-paced narration became the major setbacks of the film. It would have been better if the director had worked more on the main conflict of the film and also the character arcs instead of working hard on the points which don't make any sense to the story. The music is average and the dialogues are decent. Production values are impressive and the camera work is decent.  

Sriram's solid performance is too good. His character is always frustrated and irritated and Sriram pulled it off well. Rahul Ramakrishna delivered an amazing performance as usual. His screen presence is too good. Especially, the confrontation scenes between Rahul and Ram Sriram came out really well. Gemini Ganesh delivered an honest performance in the film. Kathi Mahesh emoted well. The rest of the characters made their presence felt 

'Y' has a very simple plot line but gets dragged with unnecessary scenes and predictable proceedings. The movie doesn't make any impact on the audience and can be considered as an average fare.

चित्रपटाचे कथानक हे ३० ते ४० वर्षांचा इतिहास असलेल्या स्त्री भ्रूण हत्या या ज्वलंत सामाजिक प्रश्नाचा अजूनही चालू असलेल्या प्रवासाबद्दल आहे. भारतातील अनेक राज्यांमध्ये लिंग प्रमाणाची असमानता हा गंभीर सामाजिक प्रश्न आहे. वेगवेगळा दृष्टीकोण आणि कारणं असणारी परंतु एकाच कृतीमध्ये परिणत होणारी कथानकं या चित्रपटात चित्रित केली आहेत. सुरवातीलाच चित्रपटाची लांबी कंटाळवाणी आहे असा व्यक्त होणारा प्रेक्षक अतिशय भारावूनच प्रेक्षागृहाबाहेर पडतो तेंव्हा आपल्या पहिल्या प्रतिक्रियेला संपूर्ण विसरून जातो. कथानकातील कोणताही प्रसंग न लांबता ते पुढे सरकते. एडिटिंगचा थोडासा दुर्मिळ पण प्रभावी प्रकार या चित्रपटात पाहायला मिळतो जो प्रेक्षकाला आधीच्या प्रसंगाची आठवण देत खिळवून ठेवतो. सामाजिक भान जागृत करणारा हा वास्तववादी चित्रपट प्रेक्षकांच्या डोळ्यात झणझणीत अंजन घालून दिग्दर्शकाचा हेतू साध्य करतो. सर्व सहभागी कलाकारांचे पात्राच्या गरजेनुसार परंतु संयमित व्यक्त होणे भावले. एक मात्र खरें की बऱ्याच दिवसांनंतर चांगल्या विषयावरील उत्कृष्ट चित्रपट पाहिल्याचे समाधान हा चित्रपट प्रत्येक प्रेक्षकाला देऊन जातो.

Though a very tense and terse movie, it makes you see. Cinematography of a different genre. Keeps you engaged throughout. One does not feel like a movie, rather it is like being in the middle of those happenings. Scares you awefully although no violence is shown directly but it's suggestions are enough to scare you. Yes that particular sentence by the doctor in one scene, is what the mentality of our society is. There was no need though for the bus driver character to be named as "Bashir" - it could have been Balwant, Basappa as well. Why that sub-texting? No need.
