Deep Rock Galactic: Assignment Missions Deep Rock Galactic guide, tips

This page of the Deep Rock Galactic guide explains what Assignment Missions are and how to complete them.

Last update: 16 January 2022

In this section of the guide, you will find out what are the Assignment Missions in Deep Rock Galactic and how to complete them.

Assignment Missions are tasks that every aspiring miner must complete in order to unlock access to many of the attractions featured in Deep Rock Galactic. What's more, Assignment Missions are an excellent way to get additional raw materials and credits that can be used to improve your equipment or personalize the appearance of your miner.

Depending on the type of Assignment Missions, the player will have to complete a series of several tasks (usually 3 to even 10) for which they will receive a corresponding reward - Deep Rock Galactic: Assignment Missions - General information - Deep Rock Galactic Guide

Depending on the type of Assignment Missions, the player will have to complete a series of several tasks (usually 3 to even 10) for which they will receive a corresponding reward. The first Assignment task is assigned to each player from the beginning and must be completed to unlock access to all types of missions available in Deep Rock Galactic. Next quests are optional and you can get rewards from them, such as access to alternative weapons or unlocking the most difficult threat level (Hazard 5).

How to perform Assignment Missions?

Assignment missions are performed throughout the whole Hoxxes IV planetary system and are associated with various primary objectives. Typically, the player has a specific type of mission to complete in the proper part of space. Also, missions have various difficulty levels, so some should be completed in a group - especially when it comes to hunting extremely dangerous Dreadnoughts.

Assignment Missions are well visible on the main planetary map and are marked by a small white diamond that is shown in the picture above - Deep Rock Galactic: Assignment Missions - General information - Deep Rock Galactic Guide

Assignment Missions are well visible on the main planetary map and are marked by a small white diamond that is shown in the picture above. At the top of the screen you can also notice a mission progress bar which shows that the player is currently on stage 8 and will have a Salvage Operation to perform.

1. Deep Rock Galactic Walkthrough overview

DRG

Rock and stone, everyone! My name is Metro, and I'd like to introduce you to my walkthrough of one of the best buddy co-op FPS ever made, Deep Rock Galactic. As a dwarf miner you have a selection of missions to do on the planet Hoxxes IV, with ten biomes to choose from. Your goal is complete those assignments to level up your dwarf miner as well get all kinds of loot and credits which you can use to unlock fancier attire and deadly weapons. You'll be mining, shooting creepy crawlies, drinking, extracting, buying, collecting, forging, and blacking out. The average mission you engage in typically lasts from 20-30 minutes total depending on the area of the biome. If you want to speedrun them by doing the main objective only, it'll take you about 5-15 minutes. Doing all the achievements might take you up to 300-400 hours. But with the friends you make along the way, those hundreds of hours will go by like a breeze.

Then you can unlock Overclocks, Deep Dives and the weekly core hunt (which results in further overclocks).

Deep Rock Galactic provides its employees with a huge arsenal of Equipment to choose from, designed to assist in extracting resources and eliminating creatures . Every class carries their own arsenal of unique equipment, each consisting of a Primary Weapon, a Secondary Weapon, a Traversal Tool, a Support Tool and a throwable item (such as a grenade).

For weapons, a Dwarf has three choices for their Primary and Secondary Weapon slots. The alternative choices for a weapon slot must be unlocked through an Equipment License and then purchasing said weapons. Traversal Tools provide the Dwarves with their own unique means of trekking the caves of Hoxxes . Support Tools assist the Dwarves with utility or combat - every class has a unique Support Tool related to their role. Lastly, a class can pick from one of four different Throwable options, though the latter three choices must be unlocked and purchased first.

Alongside these items, every Dwarf carries the same basic toolkit - a Pickaxe to extract resources and deal melee damage, an Armor undersuit, the Laser Pointer to mark points of interest, the Terrain Scanner which acts as a 3-D map, and throwable Flares which serve as temporary light sources.

Alongside personal Equipment, the Dwarves also make use of various Support Drops and Drones to assist them in the caves. Most of these only appear in certain situations, such as Bosco , who is only usable in Solo missions, designed to assist lone Dwarves with mining and combat.

Common Tools [ ]

  • The Pickaxe is used to dig terrain, mine minerals and deal melee damage. It can be swung by clicking the [MINE] ("Right Mouse" by default) button or by holding Left Trigger (LT). While normal melee damage inflicted with the Pickaxe is fairly low, it can be modified to be given a Power Attack, a high damaging point-blank attack which can also instantly destroy any type of terrain.
  • The High-Intensity Flare or Medium-Intensity Flare are temporary light sources used for illuminating the caves. They are thrown by pressing the [FLARES/FLASHLIGHT] ("F" by default) key or the B button. All Dwarves carry an unlimited amount, but only a few flares can be carried at one time and must recharge over time. Despite the name, there is no difference in light radius or strength between the two types of flare.
  • The Laser Pointer is used to identify and mark points of interest. To use it, the player must hold down [LASER POINTER] ("Left Ctrl" by default) key and then click to identify a point of interest. Marks are visible to the entire team on their HUD , and via a glowing sphere visible in the game world. Players can set personal waypoints which are only visible to them by pressing the [USE] ("E" by default) button.
  • The Terrain Scanner is used to quickly generate a map of the miner's whereabouts. It is triggered by holding down the [TERRAIN SCANNER] ("TAB" and "M" by default) or by holding the View button. The map can by rotated by clicking and dragging. All players are represented with colored icons. Waypoints are also visible on the Terrain Scanner.
  • The Hacking Device is a handheld device used to hack rival bots or technology. The device will be brought out and must be manually used once next to rival technology that can be hacked. The user of the device must then solve a short puzzle in order to successfully hack the target object.
  • APD-B317 (aka "Bosco" ) only appears on solo missions and is designed to help lone Dwarves with mining and combat. Bosco will follow the player and can be given commands by using the Laser Pointer to mark interests. Marking resources will make Bosco mine them while marking common rock will cause Bosco to project light. In addition, Bosco can automatically seek out threats and eliminate them with his machine guns, as well as revive downed players. If another player joins the game, Bosco will self-destruct (and will return if said player leaves).
  • The Mining Utility Lift Engine (aka the "M.U.L.E." or "Molly" ) is a quadruped robot which serves as a mobile depository for minerals extracted by the Dwarves. It will follow the team of its own volition, but can also be summoned directly to a player with the [CALL M.U.L.E.] ("C" by default) key or the Y button. The M.U.L.E. is capable of scaling walls and even walking on ceilings to get to a location. The M.U.L.E. has infinite carrying space, and its transponder will activate once the mission's quotas are achieved. When said transponder is activated, the M.U.L.E. will automatically return to the Drop Pod, leading the Dwarves back to its location.
  • The Breakpoint Explosives Transport - Combat-Specification (aka BET-C or "Betsy" ) is another quadruped robot similar in shape to the M.U.L.E., only it is larger and outfitted with various weapons. Originally designed to assist with combat, the BET-C has been corrupted by a pair of Xynarch Charge-Suckers and can only be found in an inactive state. Once approached it will activate and open fire on the Dwarves. The Xynarchs must be killed to disable the BET-C and initiate a system restart, which makes it friendly again. Once restarted, the BET-C will follow the Dwarves for the rest of the mission and protect them with covering fire.
  • The Drilldozer (also known as the Dozer for short, and affectionately nicknamed "Doretta" or "Dotty" by the Dwarves) is a large, automated mining vehicle deployed during Escort Duty missions to extract an Ommoran Heartstone .
  • The Hacking Pod houses an eponymous hacking drone (known as ' "Hack-C" or "Hacksy" ) who specializes in hacking rival technology. Players can call down a Hacking Pod when encountering a rival Power Station (found exclusively in Industrial Sabotage missions) or a Prospector Data Deposit , after which they must place transmitter nodes dispensed by the pod in a formation that will connect it to either. Hack-C must then be activated and defended from incoming creatures while it noisily hacks away.

Support Drops [ ]

  • The Resupply Pod is used to refill ammunition and health by 50%. It requires 80 Nitra to be summoned. To call a resupply, players must gather the required Nitra then press the [ORDER RESUPPLY] ("5" by default) key on the keyboard, choose a place to call the resupply, then click, or press the Right Trigger (RT). Each Resupply Pod comes with four individual packages - one for each Dwarf. Each package restores half of your maximum health and ammo without the Resupplier perk.
  • The Drop Pod is a space shuttle outfitted with a large drill on the underside, designed to breach the surface of the planet and deploy the Dwarves into a digging site. It carries the Dwarves both to and from missions.
  • The Personal Drop Pod is a miniaturized version of the standard Drop Pod designed to carry one Dwarf into the caves. It is used to introduce players who join a multiplayer mission late after the initial Drop Pod deployment.
  • The Mine Head is a defensive platform and specialized heavy lifter which only appears in Point Extraction missions. It replaces the M.U.L.E., serving as a stationary depository and central defensive position. It is outfitted with floodlights, automatic sentry guns, a transponder and a rocket in the center which also doubles as a depository. When the transponder is activated, the rocket will launch. A few minutes later, the Drop Pod will touch down somewhere in the map to take the Dwarves home.
  • The Nanite Bomb Dispenser is used to dispense volatile Nanite Bombs which are used to complete the Tritilyte Crystal machine event.
  • The Mobile Refinery is a platform and specialized heavy lifter which only appears on On-Site Refining missions. It replaces the M.U.L.E., serving as a stationary depository and central defensive position. It is outfitted with floodlights, nodes to begin pipes from, a transponder and a rocket in the center which also doubles as a depository. When the transponder is activated, the pump sequence will begin, and when activated a second time, the rocket will launch. A few minutes later, the Drop Pod will touch down somewhere in the map to take the Dwarves home.

Just go to the Character Selection Terminal and hit the button. Sweet promotion awaits you...

Matrix Core

Honor Badge

all assignments deep rock galactic

Honor Badge represents the amount of time the player has put into their dwarves, tracked separately for each class. It is granted upon first promotion and borders the character portrait with a bronze border and one white star. Every subsequent promotion will add another white star, for a maximum of three. After the fourth promotion, the border switches from bronze to silver, and the amount of white stars is reset back to one. Upon reaching three more promotions, the border switches from silver to gold, then gold to platinum, platinum to diamond, and finally diamond to legendary - the highest border for the Honor Badge.

After the three-star legendary level, the border switches to a final style with legendary coloring and four stars, as well as a numeric counter that displays the number of promotions gained past the three-star legendary level.

The list of Honor Badges goes as follows:

this station has all these services. the cost of a room is about 1000 rubles

Luggage storage is at all Russian train stations, expect to pay about R300 per piece per day. Its a major station.

//Luggage storage is at all Russian train stations

I'm only afraid that during WC they can be overfull, because many people will follow this way - "due to free train schedule and high rent fee, i will visit at noon and leave next early moring."

KOSTIANTYNIVKA, Ukraine (AP) — Victims of a deadly Russian missile attack that struck a busy market in eastern Ukraine were buried Thursday, as Moscow kept up its assault on Ukraine’s grain export infrastructure, hitting a Ukrainian port for the fourth time in five days.

Wednesday’s attack on the market in Kostiantynivka, in Ukraine’s Donestsk region, killed 16 people and wounded 33 — another grim reminder of the war’s civilian toll. Authorities initially put the death toll at 17, but the Interior Ministry revised that number on Thursday after examining the bodies.

Among the victims were Mykola and Natalia Shyrai, whose bodies were laid to rest in a village outside Kostiantynivka on Thursday. The married couple, in their 50s, had been selling flowers in the market when they were killed in the blast. Dozens of people from the small settlement arrived to say their final farewells as caskets covered white cloth were shut and lowered.

The attack the previous day had turned an outdoor market into a fiery, blackened ruin, and overshadowed a two-day visit by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken aimed at assessing Ukraine’s 3-month-old counteroffensive and signaling continued U.S. support for the fight.

While touring northern Ukraine on Thursday, Blinken said the death and destruction in Kostiantynivka was “what Ukrainians are living with every day.”

Hours earlier, Russia attacked the Ukrainian port city of Izmail for the fourth time in five days, Ukrainian officials said Thursday, in what has become a sustained campaign to target Ukraine’s ability to export grain.

The Danube River port area was attacked with Shahed drones aiming at civilian and port infrastructure, Odesa region Gov. Oleh Kiper said. A truck driver was wounded and grain silos were damaged, he said.

Ukrainian war crimes prosecutors inspected the wreckage at the scene close to port infrastructure on Thursday, according to a statement from the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office.

The Ukrainian military said it shot down 25 out of 33 drones launched by Russia overnight, most of them at the Odesa region, Ukraine’s agriculture export hub, as well as the northern Sumy region.

Russia has escalated attacks on Ukraine’s grain export infrastructure since mid-July, when it exited a U.N.-backed deal that had allowed for the safe shipping of Ukrainian grain during the war.

The attack in Izmail came one day after the attack in Kostiantynivka. The area, just 15-20 kilometers (about 10-to-12 miles) from the front line, has been shelled by Russia several times, and the sounds of the not-so-distant war boom throughout the day. The tail of a rocket from a cluster munition was lodged in the middle of the road that leads to the cemetery where the funerals were held.

Blinken visited a school in the village of Yahidne where hundreds of residents were imprisoned when Russian forces occupied the village at the start of the full-scale invasion. Blinken said Russian atrocities continue. “Just yesterday, we saw the bombing of a market, 17 people or more killed,” he said. “For what?”

Earlier, Blinken visited a Kyiv region facility of the State Border Guards of Ukraine and went to see a demining team working to clear unexploded ordnance from a 45,000-square-meter (10-acre) site that included a farm.

Blinken announced $90.5 million in demining assistance as part of a package of U.S. military and humanitarian aid totaling over $1 billion on Wednesday.

While Ukraine’s ports have come under attack, drone attacks on Crimea, which Russia annexed from Ukraine in 2013, and in Russia itself also have become increasingly common in recent months. In recent weeks, drones have repeatedly targeted Moscow, with some hitting buildings in the city center, while others have been shot down on the outskirts of the city.

Early Thursday, five drones were shot down from over three regions overnight, including one attempting to strike Moscow, officials said. There were no reports of casualties.

Russia’s Defense Ministry blamed the overnight attacks in Russia on Ukraine, which does not take credit for strikes inside Russia. One drone targeted Moscow, but was shot down southeast of the city without causing any damage or injuries, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.

Two more drones were shot down over the southern region of Rostov, which borders Ukraine, said regional Gov. Vasily Golubev. The debris fell in the center of Rostov-on-Don, the region’s capital, damaging several cars and shattering windows in three buildings, Golubev said. One person sought medical assistance.

Two other drones were shot down over the Bryansk region, which also borders Ukraine, Gov. Alexander Bogomaz said. Drone debris damaged a railway station and several cars, he said.

Reporting from Kyiv, Ukraine

Explosions rocked the area around one of Russia’s largest military hubs before dawn on Thursday, and local officials later said that air defenses had shot down two drones.

At least one blast was heard in the city of Rostov-on-Don, which is home to Russia’s southern military headquarters and is a command center for its forces in Ukraine. In June, the city drew world attention when mercenary fighters from the Wagner military company faced off with regular Russian soldiers there in a short-lived uprising.

On Thursday, Russian news outlets posted a series of videos showing an explosion in the center of Rostov-on-Don. The Russian Defense Ministry said that drone attacks in other regions were thwarted.

Vasily Golubev, the regional governor of Rostov, said debris that fell after air defenses downed the drones had damaged cars and buildings, injuring one person. One drone fell in the city center, he said in a post on the Telegram messaging app, listing an address that is across the street from the military headquarters. Another was shot down outside the city in the western part of the region, he said.

President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia has made several official visits to Rostov-on-Don since the start of the war. His most recent visit was on Aug. 19, when he received reports from Valery V. Gerasimov, the chief of the general staff of Russia’s armed forces, and various commanders and senior officers, according to the Kremlin .
